Water Bottles

I just drink the fountain water and keep refilling an aluminum bottle. It doesn't taste that bad. The warmer the better.

Each morning, we took our resort mug through the Food Court (Pop Century) and got our morning caffeine fix for the bus ride to the parks. Inside the parks, we'd ask CS CMs to fill them with just ice. Ice cools you down as you munch on it, and you always have a fresh supply of cold water to sip as it melts. By the way, we also had filtered water bottles, but found the resort mugs of ice worked perfectly. The filled water bottles were heavy to lug around in the backpack, and the water got HOT quickly. We wound up leaving our water bottles in our room and sticking with the mugs. :thumbsup2

We use water bottles and refill them through the day at the various water fountains. We hold them with our Disney bottle straps that go around our arm and neck.

OK fellow Canadian, here's what you want to do. Gotta have cold water like me? Need it to be cold all day? Want to be able to easily carry it? Want enough for the whole family?

Go to Thermosbrand.ca , punch in this product or item number in the search

Stainless Steel Hydration Bottle
Item Number: FDQ1001FCDN

Bingo, you have the best bottle that you have ever seen for the parks.
Its thermos of course and if you fill it with ice from the hotel in the a.m. and it holds,
ice and therefore cold water all day without having to add anymore ice throughout the day. Just add more water at lunch or whenever if you need to but you start off with a liter in the morning as it is.

It has this strap attached to a sleeve that the bottle sits in (this sleeve also
adds further insulation). The strap can be pinned to the bottom of the sleeve so you can carry it like a sling under your arm.

It is available in black or pink depending on who is assigned to carry it.

For me I have the black one and carried cold water for the family the entire trip and I can tell you that that water was indeed very cold and very convenient and easy to carry.

IMO this is the ultimate bottle and I love the fact the I was able to get one and it worked so well.

I contacted the company and they were able to tell me who they had supplied it to recently then I contacted one of those companies and was able to obtain one although I think it is only available in Canada.

Enjoy.

We also use the Bobble water bottles. They are so convenient and they really do filter the taste of the water. We also have water bottle sized coozies, which helps keep the water from getting hot and also makes them easier to carry. People always stop us in the parks and ask us where we got the coozies; we didn't buy them - they were promotional giveaways from our cable company. One of the best marketing giveaways we've ever received - we use them all the time!

We just returned, and it was so hot and humid. We thought we were prepared since it's hot and humid in Maryland, but we weren't. Early in the trip we had some 6 ounce plastic water bottles that we constantly refilled at the fountains. The small bottles would fit in pockets or fanny packs. My husband preferred carrying these small bottles. We weren't worrying about keeping the water cold.

I also had aluminum water bottles I had bought at Target which could hang from camera bag strap or whatever by caribiner or could be carried by a finger through the large hole in the top of the stopper.

I did not find water bottle straps until near the end of our trip. They were sold by a popcorn vendor in the Magic Kingdom. I used my strap to carry my refillable mug into a couple of parks.

We just purchased water bottles from Hydro Flask based on several recommendations on these boards -- they are a bit higher in price but so worth it! I've had it inside the car for hours with the windows rolled up and the water inside was still cold (as a matter of fact, there was ice that had not melted!). There was free shipping in honor of their anniversary but I'm not sure if the promo is still going on: www.hydroflask.com (BTW there is nothing that says free shipping but when you go to complete the order there was an option to select standard shipping for zero cost.)

Always carry a water bottle. We put one in carrier made esp. for water bottles. We fill our water bottle throughout the day with ice water, and the insulation from the carrier and the water bottle itself keep the water fairly cool throughout the day. We use a water bottle that filters the water which helps with the taste of the water. The bottle we use is made by Brita. This works great for us.

We got back last night and used the Hydroflask bottles. They worked great and kept the water cold for hours even in the high 90s temps we had.

This is what we use. Hangs from our Disney bottle straps. Fill up from water fountains. Filter in the cap.

I want the Eco model. Has a bigger opening for ice.

Just in case anyone is looking to get Brita bottles. They haven't been made in a few years and its hard to get the filters if you have one.

I bought a wide mouthed no BPA water bottle where the cap screws on and is attached to the bottle. I fill it with ice at the resort in the morning (don't bother to put any water in) and clip it onto my pants with a carabiner. The ice starts melting almost immediately but I can generally drink it all before it gets too warm. When we go back to the resort for a break in the middle of the day I fill it with more ice. (It's about a 32 ounce bottle.)

It's heavy at first but I drink it fairly fast.

We order a case of water through Garden Grocer (we're DVC members so we order groceries, actually). DH and I carry ours on our over-the-shoulder/cross-body water carrying things that they sell in the parks. Will likely get one for DS this year now that he is big enough to carry one himself. I'm a hands-free kind of girl :cool1:

It doesn't stay cold, unfortunately, but we're hydrated just the same. If we drink them all then we'll purchase water in the park, although I guess we could get some from CS! :thumbsup2

As for the refillable mugs. There is no where to refill them in the parks and yes you could refill them with water but you have to keep them upright or they will spill. A bottle works better.[/QUOTE]

So are they only for drinks at the resort you are staying in? We get them for free with our package at the WL.

I take a couple of fresh lemons and add fresh juice to the free cups of ice. My grandchildren like to add some fresh juice in addition to the packet lemonade.

We get a couple cases of water. Bring bunches of water bottles with us and when they are empty we refill them at a water fountain. We live in Florida so we are used to the crappy water here and when you are thirsty and don't want to spend tons on water in the parks or you don't want to wait in line for water at a CS than it works. Some of the fountains are actually cold. You just have to look for those. ;o)

And FWIW you rehydrate yourself faster with room temp water than with ice cold. So it's actually beneficial to drink your water "warm".

To beat the heat and stay hydrated, it's a good idea to carry water (I know the CS offer water for free).

Do you folk's carry water with you though, so you have it while in line or between attractions?

What kind of Water Bottle do you use? (a pictures worth 1000 words - and one post :) ). And how do you keep your water cold?

We went in July and it was HOT. We used 2 inexpensive back packs...the ones you get for free at places. There were 4 of us. Each backpack had 3 water bottles. Two were frozen and 1 was just cold and the opposite in the other backpack. We would drink them in the lines and after rides. It worked out well. As we emptied a water bottle we threw it away and by 7 PM they were all gone! We also folded the one empty backpack and put that in the other backpack.

This worked great for us. Yes, the backpack was heavy in the am, but quickly got better. Our kids are also older (12 and 16) so everyone could carry something.

I buy them and toss them. Buy at the grocery store and bring to parks or buy in the parks.

If the opportunity presents itself, I'll refill from a CS place. But it is just easier for me to drink and toss, so that's what I do.

I do more CS refilling during the cooler months when Disney has fewer carts at which to buy water.
