I would cook meals like this every night, if I didn't have to dirty SO MANY POTS AND PANS! :headache:

Right now she's making hot dogs with mac and cheese on top. So far, 4 pots and 1 strainer, not including all of the tongs and knives and graters and spoons.

They look awesome, though!:thumbsup2

My family teases my mother because everytime she tries one of the 30-Minute Meal recipes, her kitchen looks like a disaster area. You may be able to COOK the meal in 30 minutes, but clean-up after takes at least an hour.

 Thats what I am always thinking when I watch these shows too. Tyler Florence is always making a big mess and dusting stuff onto the floor. Like I'd ever do that, guess who has to clean it in my house.... not all of us have a staff lol

I have made some of her recipes. I don't think it takes as much as what she uses on the show. They use MULTIPLE pieces of equipment for ease of television production.

We do have the kids book though. :)

Mise en place and an empty sink and dishwasher at the start and her infamous garbage bowl (or my preference, the actual garbage can nearby)--go a long way to help in clean up.:thumbsup2

Can you imagine how much salt RR has on her floor?! I wonder if she really does that in her own house. Probably has a cleaning crew at home too.

I LOVE to cook, but I hate to clean up afterwards. My main goal is to use as few pots and pans as possible. The outdoor grill and tin foil are my best friends. ;)

That garbage bowl must be fun to clean out. She drains cans in it and throws all sorts of garbage in it that must be sorted later.

I think she uses a lot of pans to advertise her cookware too. ;)

The best thing I have taken from Rachael Ray is the "garbage bowl," usually I use a paper Whole Foods bag. But I quit watching and getting her magazines after she made fun of breastfeeing moms on her show.

This is something my father has been trying to teach her for 30 years! She still doesn't understand how I keep my kitchen clean when I am cooking. The strange thing is that she is neurotic (sp?) when it comes to cleaning.

My mom is that way as well. She is now a trained chef. So she does clean up after her own messes now.:lmao:

But our kitchen was a nightmare upon nightmare for years and us kids hated the kitchen chore. Probably another reason she tries to be a little tidier. No kids to clean up her mess.

Really? What did she say?

I'm confused. Are you talking about Rachael Ray? Do you know her personally? Oops, I went back and re-read your other post. LOL

Just did a quick google--evidently she had Bethenny what's her face on who advocates breastfeeding. But in responding to an audience member's question. Bethenny said that BFing in public was bad bad bad and should be done in private. Rachel Ray agreed.

Just did a search myself and read what Bethany said. Except for the part about Pamela Anderson, I agree with her. I breastfed my son and only did so in private. I'm not going to bash other moms for doing it in public, but I do think that it makes people uncomfortable. We don't allow woman to walk around topless in our society so I don't think it's acceptable to breastfeed in public without being discreet. As long as there is no naked breast visable, I have no problem with it.

Agreeing with someone who said she didn't want to see people's breasts in public is not making fun of breastfeeding moms.

Audience Member: “I’m expecting my second child and strongly thinking of breastfeeding. What are your rules for public breastfeeding, like where is it appropriate?”

Bethenny: “I think, unless you are Pamela Anderson, you shouldn’t be showing anyone your breasts besides your husband and your baby.”

Rachael Ray: (laughing) “Exactly.”

Bethenny: “I really do. I think you should find a corner, or there is always a back room, I just think it makes other people uncomfortable. When you are a mother you think everyone is ‘in on’ what you’re ‘in on’, [. . .] but they’re not. Because I didn’t know anything about [breastfeeding] until I was pregnant and I was sensitive to the fact that it would have flipped me out. So I think, just keep it private. But definitely breastfeed and do things your own way, but in that one way, I would keep it a little bit private. Whipping out your **** at the dinner table is a good diet tip for everyone else.

First of all, Rachael Ray is a celebrity chef. She is not a lactation consultant, she is not a pediatrician, a child psychologist, or anyone else who you might expect to have an opinion on breastfeeding worth listening to. Breastfeeding in public does not equate "whipping out your **** at the dinner table." Public breastfeeding does not mean exposing yourself. And why is it funny to say that it's ok to see Pamela Andersons breasts? It rubbed me the wrong way. Rachael Ray didn't have to say anything, she didn't have to laugh. She didn't have to make any comment one way or another. But she did and she lost me as a supporter for it.

I agree! I've made similar statements. I wasn't making fun of breastfeeding. To each their own! That doesn't mean that I want to or should have to see it happening!

LOVE Rachel Ray, she's the best. Nice quick meals, nothing to hard

Well, this is why breastfeedng moms have laws protecting them and giving them the right to breastfeed in public. It is a protected right and perfectly fine.

Carry on breastfeeding moms! The more people who see it will see it is no big deal and is the normal way to feed a baby. It's not a dirty secret or being an exhibitionist. It's feeding a hungry baby.

Exactly. It doesn't matter if a person "doesn't want to" see it or doesn't thinks they "should have to" see it, it is legally protected. Chances are good you have seen it many times and didn't know it. We breastfeeding moms are sneaky like that.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
Section 1. The breastfeeding of a baby is an important
and basic act of nurture which must be encouraged in
the interests of maternal and child health and family values.
A mother may breastfeed her baby in any location, public
or private, where the mother is otherwise authorized to be,
irrespective of whether or not the nipple of the mother’s
breast is covered during or incidental to the breastfeeding.
House bill no. HB 231 Fl. ALS 4; 1993 Fla. Laws ch. 4; 1993 Fla. HB 231
Fla. Stat. § 383.015, § 800.02 - 800.04, § 847.001 (later: § 827.071)

The question asked on her show was what does Bethenny Frankel think about public breastfeeding, not should you be showing your breasts in public. Two very different questions. However the response was, "I think, unless you are Pamela Anderson, you shouldn’t be showing anyone your breasts besides your husband and your baby." "Hee hee, exactly!" It is pretty sad that both of these women equate public breastfeeding with public nudity.

We breastfeeding moms are sneaky like that.

Then you are neither "whipping it out" or showing your breasts in public, so I see no reason for you to be so upset about those comments.

I breastfed in public places, but I never once "whipped it out" or showed my breasts in public. I agree with those that are offended by those who do so. I personally don't equate breastfeeding with public nudity, but I have in rare cases seen people use it as an excuse for public nudity.

Interviews like that purpose to serve to do nothing but make the act seem disgusting and perverted and "private" as in hide it away from everyone.

While I have not seen the interview, I really don't think that Rachel Ray should have been expressing her agreement in the manner as indicated in the transcript. It was simply a PR mistake on RR's part. But boycotts don't typically work out well for such a minority issue and RR isn't seeing any impact in her ratings.

And even though it is a legally protected act, there are still many people who do not know that and instead of making a choice, they feel they are not allowed (legally or socially) to BF in public. For many advocates, it amounts to shaming the act and it does discourage moms to consider their options.

Additionally, it further adds fuel to the fire for those who do feel it is always inappropriate in public even though to express that opinion and enforce it as some businesses still attempt to do is a violation of civil rights.

Rachel Ray nor her producers made any indication of the legality of the act. Had she added that one little disclaimer, folks would just be complaining about Bethenny.

I don't do boycotts, so I don't have anything against Rachel Ray other than as someone with platform as she has, her producers should have had some type of disclaimer on the legality of what they were against.
