Watching fireworks from PPH but staying at GCH.

We will be arriving a day earlier now & we don't have tickets for that day, it's a last minute, late arrival at CGH where we will be staying the rest of our vacation.

My question is, could we sneak in the pool rooftop of the PPH & watch the fireworks from there?

I'm guessing since we will be staying at another Disney hotel it should be ok, last year we stayed at PPH and there was hardly anyone there, I'm just double checking in case something has changed.

My recollection is that the door to the pool declk is locked, so without a PPH key, you will need to find another guest to let you in. -- Suzanne

Anyone know if the view of the fireworks is good from the PPH pool area? We are staying there in June. Thanks.

You have to have a key access the pool area of the PPH....I guess you could ask at the front desk if they will let you do this but my guess is that no, it's not something that is regularly allowed.

Perhaps the pool area has been revamped in the past year, but two years ago, I was able to watch the fireworks from the PPH viewing area without staying there, nor needing a key to access the deck. In fact, as a local, I've done this 4 or 5 times now (including once on July 4th). But again, the last time I went up there was two years ago and things may have changed.

When I was able to do this, the doors to the deck area (just off the elevators) were open to anyone. However, the area closer to the pool itself, was surrounded by a gated fence. You did need a room key to get into this area directly around the pool. But the roof area itself was open. It's actually very similar to the pools at the GCH and DLH. Anyone can walk around the areas where the pools are--especially if you're going to a restaurant--but there is a gated fence closer to the pool that requires a room key.

Since my last visit, perhaps the layout of the pool deck has changed. Maybe someone who has stayed there more recently can chime in.

We have watched the fireworks from DTD by Build a bear several times good view but no music! We sat by the fountains. It was very relaxing with a snack from one of the many venues! We have stayed at PPH but never bothered to go to the pool area to watch the fireworks!

Another good option is to walk to the Mickey parking structure and watch from the top deck

Since I was at the park today, I made a short excursion over to PPH to check out the roof/pool deck. While I didn't stay for the fireworks, I was able to go out on the roof/pool deck at 7pm without needing a key. I think you'll be okay to watch the fireworks from the deck. One of the nice aspects of watching the fireworks from the PPH deck are the speakers that play the soundtrack of the fireworks show. I feel that the music is a big part of the fireworks and it's nice to be able to listen to it while watching the show.

Another option since you're staying at GCH is to watch WOC from the WOC viewing deck at GCH. I like it since its less crowded though you can't see the projections as well as on the ground. But that way you wouldn't have to worry about your key working and could still see a show that evening.

Thanks for double checking, as I recall from our last stay (august last year) that part of the deck doesn't have a gate to access it.
