Watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation for the first time this morning.

I am so old... I remember that my parents took my high school boyfriend and me to see this at the cinema when it came out back in 1989 :rotfl2:

I too saw it in the theater. My entire extended family went to see it - my 2 cousins, Aunt, my parents and us 3 kids. I remember that my mother laughed so hard she was crying. It is a classic.

I have the best memory of my boyfriend (now DH) and I going to see this December 1989.
We laughed so hard throughout the entire movie - it was, at the time, the funniest movie I had ever seen (I was 17yrs old)
Now we watch this as a family every day after Thanksgiving while eating a big stuffed pizza.
Absolutly love this movie!

When Aunt Bethany is asked to say Grace...

"Grace? Grace died over 30 years ago."

Then she proceeds to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and they all respond, "Amen."

I almost bought a shirt with this on it this year.

Omg, please send me the link.

Sorry that I misunderstood, @FairestOfThemAll37. If you go to Amazon, search for "Why is the carpet all wet Todd?" There are plenty of short and long sleeve t-shirts and sweaters with these lines on them. They are very cute.

We usually host Coast Guard recruits for Thanksgiving and Christmas and we put it on for them, and it’s always a huge hit, and usually the first time they see it!

No home visits through Operation Fireside this year, and three of the companies on base are quarantined due to the virus. Thankfully according to new reports no one has needed extraordinary procedures, most are asymptomatic or mild.

My FAVORITE Christmas movie. Clark tries so hard for that perfect family Christmas.
One of my favorite scenes is at the end when the police break into the house and tell everyone to "freeze" and you see Ellen frozen in her position with her hand grabbing Clark's crotch! There are so many little things in that movie that make it so funny.

I will always switch the channel to watch if I see it's on...and my wife will always leave the room when I do! I guess she's just not a fan.

so funny. The first time I saw it I just about died laughing at the sledding scene when he put the kitchen silicone wax on the sled and went down the hill.

"Is Rusty still in the Navy?"
"It's a funny squeaking sound"
"Can't see the lines, can you, Rus?"

Last night it was on TV and DH was reciting the lines along with the TV

It's been a big family tradition for years

We went and saw it last year! Lol... Limited date/ticket event.

The speech at the end is 100% my husband. Love it.
