Watched "Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead." DH & I started JUICING today! *Weightloss UPDA

One question...I've got lots of good recipes, but how do I know how much juice we should be drinking each day?

There's lots of info on this site:

Recipes, forums, "ask a nutritionist", all kinds of stuff.

Day 32 and my body jumpstarted the past couple of days,
down 22.4!! It's tough, but it's worth it.

Hi!! Today is day 30 for me and I am down 19.8 pounds. I sooooo wanted to hit 20, but alas, not to be. My hubby is down 32 pounds!!!!! We're gonna keep it up until 60, and I might go a bit longer. Hubby will be at his goal by then, but I have longer to go.

That's wonderful! Congrats to you! And what is .2 lbs? Really! Are you guys exercising? I couldn't believe the change in my muscle tone & weight loss when I started working out :)

Thanks so much for the inspiration! I watched the video last night on Netflix and ordered my juicer on Amazon straight away. It should be here in two days. Tonight I am going with my sister (we live together) to Costco and the grocery store to stock up on fruits and veggies. We are committed to 10 days to start. It feels less overwhelming than 30 or 60, but if all goes well, I know we would both keep it up.

I think more than anything we both want to kickstart our bodies, then focus on keeping them healthy and detoxed so we can be more active and maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Yes, I have weight to lose. And I would love some muscle definition again. But more important to me in the energy, the overall feeling of health and the transformation of the way I look at food. I want food to nourish me, not console, passify or entertain me.

Thanks again for the great story Bunkkinsmom, I am inspried!

I know, I know. It seems SO MANY of us use food for all these reasons that it wasn't created for. :sad2: I know I certainly did! We definitely look at food differently now. DH & I have never seen anything work like this, EVER. Stick with it & you won't be sorry! :grouphug:

Hi All!

Yep I'm exercising. Cardio for 25 and weights for 25.
I've got 27 more days till 60. I'm thinking of possibly
going longer, we'll see how I feel!

Good morning! :cool2: I weighed this am & I've lost 15 lbs!! :cheer2: I feel like I've officially "hit a mark." Yippee!!

I forgot to mention in a previous post that I've been swimming 2000 feet, every other day. It's not quite .5 a mile. It's 50 laps in our pool, and I'd have to swim 66 laps to equal .5 a mile. I'm not sure I can go for that, but I'll try. :rotfl: Anyway, DH & I are walking about 2.5 miles & we are running 1 mile every night. Exercise has really put the weight loss on the fast track. ;)

We are heading to the beach next week, and I don't think I'm quite ready for my new swimsuit. :beach: (I bought some that were too small because they were on sale AND I'm planning on fitting in them soon.) ;) We go to the beach again Labor Day weekend, and then again later in Sept. By the time I go in later Sept, I better have lost another 15 lbs, or I'll be frustrated with myself.

YAY!!!!! GREAT JOB!! Don't feel bad if you plateau, just plow through it. I plateaued where I only lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks, and now I've lost 5 pounds in the last 4 days. I think you're doing great!!!!!!

Thanks! I'm pretty much 1/2 way there, so I'm sure I'm going to plateau again. (I HATE that part!) :rotfl2: I would *LOVE* to lose 5 lbs in 4 days. I can't even imagine! Congrats to you! :cheer2:

MIL has lost 40 lbs total. If she would only exercise, I think she'd lose even more rapidly.

Been going now for a week! We are modified a bit due to some health concerns from the doc but so far so good! Juice twice a day and a sensible healthy dinner. Not purists by any means but we are already seeing the benefits (do we call the caffeine withdrawl headache a benefit? LOL). Will be weighing in this weekend sometime and now ready to add exercise to the routine!!!

That is wonderful! I'm so excited for you :yay: The caffeine headache goes away, I promise! Even juicing twice a day is SO MUCH BETTER than what you were probably eating before, don't you agree? I just think this is the best thing we can be doing for our bodies & health. Even if you just start out walking, you can add more exercise as you go. We walk 3-4 miles each night & I can tell NIGHTLY that my legs are tighter, and they even feel smaller. (Maybe that's my imagination??) :rotfl2: I love this plan & I can see us juicing forever, although we may eventually cut it down to once per day. I can't wait to hear about your results! Best wishes to you :grouphug:

Thanks so much!! We are planning to start with walking 3-5 times a week for at least 30 minutes. We'll add weights the following week 3 times a week as well. Starting there. As winter hits we will be doing some swimming as well at the Y indoor pool.

I definitely know we are so much healthier now. Even when I don't have time to make a juice in the morning I am able to grab the Naked juice from work. Better choices and better energy for maintaining a healthy body and life. That's really my goal!

Weighed in today at -8lbs in 9 days!! Feeling gret and making good decisions!!!

It does feel good! It feels GREAT! Thanks!!! Keeping it up with healthy choices and positive outlook. Went to the Game Fair today and passed by stand after stand with fried food, sweet food, ice cream and more. Only once or twice that I actually thought about how great it would be to have something...Drank my water and enjoyed being outside and having fun with my dog at the fair.

Gosh, it's been FOREVER since I've checked in here! Well, I'd lost down to 20 lbs, then we went on 3 Disney cruises & a deluxe dining trip to WDW. Soooo, I gained back 8 lbs. :scared1: Anyway, we are starting back on the consistent juicing & I'm SO thankful!!
