Watch Out People !! ~ BEWARE ~ Slim Mojito Monkey Partying People In Progress !!

Good morning ladies~Hope you are all doing well.

Yesterday was a really good day for me. I feel like I have so much more energy lately & after my workout at the gym last night I was ready for more. So I got home & started doing crunches & squats for about another half hour. I love having my energy back! Such a great feeling.

I did really well eating yesterday too. For breakfast I had a yogurt, lunch had I two california rolls w/ just a tiny bit of soy sauce for flavor & for dinner I had a peice of baked chicken and about a c. of broccoli. For a snack yesterday I ate almonds. My only downfall is that I still have not figured out how to drink enough water. My weakness is Diet Dr. Pepper & I always choose that instead of water...so bad!

Anyway, hope this day goes really good for everyone. 1 more day until weigh in! I'm sure everyone did awesome this week. :)

Heh- I have 2 diet sodas a day- this week, diet Dr Pepper is my drink of choice!

I'm doing good out here- I've realized that the exercise challenge is kinda addicting to me. Because I've done two days of 80 minutes on the elliptical and I actually find myself justifying jumping back on for another 20 minutes! I must be INSANE! I think it's because I can see a 'goal' that's reachable in the exercise challenge and before, it was just exercising to exercise. Hope that makes sense?

Anyways, trying to decide what to do for my Mum for Mother's Day. My Grandma passed away in March and it was really hard for the whole family- my Mom and little sister had been taking care of her for the most part 24-7, although I'm proud to say I was on call for whenever they needed a break- and this will be my Mom's first Mother's Day without a Mom to tell she loves her... Oh goodness, I just realized how utterly heartbreaking that is. Anyways, so I'm trying to decide what to do with my Mom and suddenly, really missing Grandma at the moment.

I didn't answer my own QOTD yesterday. I got BIG with my first child- and by big, I mean I saw 220 on the scale around the 7th month and never looked at the scale until 2 months after I gave birth! I went down to around 190, lost the weight after a loss in the family, and then regained it due to secondary infertility (uh- you're pregnant, uh- now, you're not! uh- you're pregnant- uh, now, you're not!) and then my pregnancy with my Bub. So basically my entire 20s, I've been BIG.

My fave restaurant has to be the Biergarten, followed by Nine Dragons. I know- so NORMAL, eh? But I loooooooooooove German food and looooooooooove the Biergarten's wine sampler ;) ;) ;)

Glad I'm not the only one addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper :)

This workout challenge is soooo addictive. I agree with you when you say you find yourself wanting to do more even after you've worked out. I'm finding it really hard to just sit down & watch tv or relax because I want to go, go, go. :)

Sorry about your grandma. It is so hard to deal with losing a loved one. This will be my husband's first mother's day without his mom. She passed away last June while I was still pregnant. That was very hard. You should see if your mom wants to go to brunch with you on mother's day, and if your sis lives close have her come too. It would be just a girls trip so that you guys can spend time with mom & let her know that you are there for her & that you love her. I don't even know what I'm doing for my mom yet, I guess I better start planning...Look at me giving you suggestions, yet I'm such a procrastinator.

Hope you have a wonderful day!! Keep up the awesome work, you are doing great & you are really helping me stay motivated too.:yay:

Quote of the Day
"When one's expectations are reduced to zero, one really appreciates everything one does have."
– Stephen Hawking

OK, there is the quote of the day. I HAVE NOT read up yet, but will catch up in the next little while.... but wanted to get this posted and share my story so far this week:

OK, so I am a VERY impatient person.... Like I had said before, when I was younger, I could take a run and swim and loose a ton of weight REALLY fast! Since then, I have only done one real diet that I stuck to for more than two weeks, and that was the HMR diet. I chose the program where you just drink shakes, no food at all. SO, of course the weight just dropped right off, 30 pounds in two months... then I quit, and was not skinny, so I just put it right back on and more (and had DS)

So, fast forward to now.... the weight really dropped off this past month, or so I feel, so now that I am weighing CONSTANTLY, I was peeved that I was stalled this week... but kept with it. Today, I was down 1. OK, so you say, how in the heck could you be happy with that little, if you want so much to come off????? See above quote of the day! I was expecting to be just the same... no change.... and there was a change... so I appreciate it even more!!!! Oh, and GIRLS, yes, do tape yourselves... No, I still haven't, but my pants are falling off! So, maybe this was just the "redistribution" week???? One can hope! SOOOOO, another reason I am so psyched about the one pound.... It brings me into ONE-derland....199! Yippiee!

OK, so girls, keep up the good work! (oh, and as far as meeting my goals for the week... I still didn't whip out the FIRM videos, but did take a nice 35 minute walk, embarrassing my husband by doing all that speed walker crap with my arms and hips!!!!!) He was mortified... but we were walking in the cemetary... so who really saw?????

Colleen -
You have been doing GREAT !! Keep up the good work and HOORAY for making it to ONEderland !! Now you will never see 200's again

Thanks for sharing the quote of the day ! I really like that one.

Now to toot my own Horn :rolleyes1 I am another pound down this week that makes 3  and I still have one more day before weigh in :) . I can not wait to see 199... :goodvibes

WOOHOO :cheer2: Good going !!

Everyone is doing such a good job !! Keep up the good work everyone !

"just sitting here.. watching all my friends disappear" kepp up the good job.... :guilty:

We'll ALL get there!

So tomorrow is the dreaded scale day! Let's not allow this little group to trickle away- we're all here for one another and I cannot wait to meet some of you great ladies at DW!

Ordered some more Crocs today. More, you ask? Uh, yeah- somehow I didn't realize that M1 W3 meant that it was Men's size (1) and Women's size (3). So I ordered my 7 year old daughter a pair of M1 W3. Uh, they are boats! Instead of sending them back, though, I just ordered the smaller pair- I'll hold onto these and see if she cannot wear them next year. I also ordered Bub a pair- but we'll see because I'm really unsure about shoe sizes- kids versus adults, etc. I ordered him a size 7 (Kids) and I'm hoping that's the right size- it's the size of shoes he wears now- but... I just don't know!

One day closer! WOO HOO!

Ugh...this is totally off topic...but one of my teachers is calling off I think. I mean, why else would she call me at 9:15? I didn't pick up. I get so frustrated with call offs that its best for my sanity for them to talk to the machine. There are 3 teachers in the room. Teacher 1 was off Wednesday, Teacher 2 was off Thursday, so of course Teacher 3 will call off tomorrow, when I already have two teachers from other rooms scheduled off...ERRR!!!! Yep. She called off. Something about her hand. That's it. I'm quitting tomorrow.

I have had a NUTSO day today.
Good work ladies! I hope the weigh in goes good for everyone tomorrow!

Hello everyone! I'd like to join you, if I may!

My name is Katie. I'm 28; I'll be 29 a few weeks before we go to Pop in Sept (12-18th). I've ALWAYS been the "chunky" child in our family, then the fat one. 4 years ago I joined Curves and I really liked going. But my husband changed jobs, we moved, and it became too hard to go. Since then, I haven't done much of anything for intentional exercise. I have counted my (almost) daily shopping trips as my exercise routine.

Recently a 24 Hour Fitness opened 10 minutes away. We live in a small, unincorporated area so this was very exciting! I decided DH and I needed to clean up our lifestyle to ensure we'd be around a long time for our children. We have a 5.5 year old boy and a 21 month old girl. Both of us have terrible family histories of diabetes, morbid obesity, cancer, heart disease, etc etc. I don't want DH and I to have to deal with this. I know it is in our genes, but I also realize that it doesn't HAVE to happen, if we stop and change things.

So I joined the gym. First time joining a real gym! I signed us up for a 3 year commitment, that made the price per month really cheap. I also got 10 free sessions with a Personal Trainer. I wasn't thrilled with this idea, but I figured it would be a good way to help me start with my weightloss.

I started with him April 19th, so close to when this challenge started.
I work out with him twice a week. I swear it's like Boot Camp for your body. I get pushed and pushed and pushed to point my muscles feel like they are tearing apart. I just want to sit in a Jacuzzi for days after his sessions. I just wish we had one LOL! It hurts sooo much!! I feel soo out of shape. On the plus side, my shorts are already a bit looser after only 3 sessions! My shirts are also looking baggier! I've been sticking to buying healthier foods in the store. I'm not dumping all the junk in my house into the trash can, though. I think weight watchers has the right idea... you need to be able to eat your favorite foods once in a while, and we can't afford to trash half the food in our house. We'll just distribute it more spread out than we have before. (no ice cream every night in the summer, in other words...)

These are some of my personal trainers tips:

cut back to 1300-1800 calories a day

(this made me STARVING and soooo super hungry for the first week. I was sooo cranky and mean to everyone. I couldn't stand it!)

don't forget your vitamins!

eat less, more often. Five 300 calorie meals a day will speed up your metabolism faster than a three 450 calorie meals with two 100 calorie stacks

when you are on the elliptical, hold on to the bars (instead of using the arm things) and keep your head and shoulders straight and unmoving. OMG I can barely do 6 minutes this way. You REALLY feel the difference...esp in your legs and bottom!!

water, water, water

FOOD LOG. I'm so bad at this, I hate writing everything down. especially all the candy I sneak. I found out quickly which foods have very little calories. I like eating black jellybeans...you can eat a few, the zing in them doesn't make me want to eat more food, and they are relatively low in calories.
---------
ANYWAYS, I want to lose about 30 pounds before our trip in September. I want pictures of me and the kids at WDW and I don't want to take up half the picture. I look at the pictures from Easter time and just cringe. DH is always in the pictures with our kids because I just won't get behind the camera.

(of course, 4/6 of our ADRs are character buffets...at least the walking will make up for it!)

I'm really trying to lose the 30 pounds for my birthday in August, which is about a month before our trip... I keep telling myself not to focus on the POUNDS as much as the inches. I'd rather be xxx with 20 pounds of muscles than xxx with 20 pounds of fat!!

I'm looking foward to losing with all of y'all!

Hi ladies!

Here are my answers to the QOTD from yesterday though ;)

Weight related: When did you start thinking you were 'big'?
Probably when we had our sons 1 year pics taken. I didn't gain much weight during my pregnancy (I was already overweight) and did lose all the weight quickly afterwards but somehow I gained all of that back and then some. The pics we had done with our son at 6 months don't seem that bad but I looked huge in his 12 month. Same with all the pics from our Disney trip last May - that's my motivation - not to have the same feeling when I look at our pics from this September/October.

Disney related: What is your favorite restaurant in the parks? Why?
Hmm - this is a toughie! I love most of the restaurants from Epcot's World Showcase but I'd put the top two at Biergarten and Rose and Crown. I'm not a fan of the food at Biergarten but I love the atmosphere!

I agree with others the exercise challenge is so addicting. I am finding myself really upset if I don't get in at least some exercise each day. Yesterday was a slow day for me but I have a lot of activities for my son so I consider it kinda my rest day. Today I already did a 1 mile walk and have another walk planned with a friend and depending on how that goes will do another walk outside this afternoon - maybe I should just walk to WDW

Okay I'll admit I was too scared to weigh in today. My clothes feel better but I'm afraid I either didn't lose or gain b/c muscle is replacing fat or I didn't lose b/c I just can't keep my hand out of the cookie jar. Either way I'll be facing the music tomorrow and let you all know how I did.

Laurie

Good morning everyone!:goodvibes I've had a so-so week. I kinda-sorta kept to a healthy eating plan:confused3 I have lost 8lbs since I started a little over a week ago:banana: . I really have been makeing an effort especially at work. But I have been off yesterday and today (after a 6 day week) and I was doing fine until my kids ordered pizza last nite:rolleyes1 Needless to say, I endulged:rotfl: More than once:rotfl: This morning my DH made an incredible breakfast - and I endulged - again:rotfl: So now, I am back on track again! I'm watching Dr. Phil and he has a 650lb woman as his guest. That could be me someday if I don't get my life in control:sad2: So, I'm back on track again!Thank you all, you are all an inspiration to me:grouphug:

I'm doing good today- the scale shows a good drop from last week, so that means all of my starving has paid off! (really- some days, I feel so full and some days, I feel so hungry!). Anyhoo, this week will be sucky because of... girl issues (hahahaha), but I guess I shall persevere!

Welcome to the thread, all of our newcomers! And keep it up, all of us!

Tape, tape, tape today if you have a measurer!

Remember to send me your weights so we can log them !! :cool1:

I am actually up 1 pound from last week  I am a little disapointed but I was asking for it when I stopped at McDonalds :rotfl:

Next week is a new week !!

Hi Katie~Welcome & I'm glad you will join us. Everyone here is GREAT! They really keep me motivated & on track, plus it is just a great group of people to talk to everyday.

So I weighed in this morning. I hadn't weighed myself all week because I wanted to see a big drop on Friday & be totally excited about it. Well...1.6 pounds was the loss this week. I'll admit, I was a little disappointed because I was hoping for 3 since I worked out every night & ate hardly anything but chicken & veggies this week. But 1.6 pounds is better then nothing so I am proud for losing that and today starts a new week, so I can only continue to work hard & eat healthy for next weeks weigh in.

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!!!

Okay, we're starting to get quiet- what's up, chickadees?

We all need to keep our momentum going- so let's check in when you get the chance! I know the weekend is approaching and ya know- the weekends are my DOWNFALLS! Tomorrow, I'm taking my Mom out to the Melting Pot for Mother's Day (a week early- I thought it was this weekend- I blame my husband!) so I KNOW I'll be eating well there! Today, I'm doing really horrible at drinking all of my water- I already feel bloated- why drink water! LOL!

But how's everyone doing? Where are ya?
