I will expect greatness from myself today as well !! I am working more than I typically do this week so I need to stay on top of meeting and be a little more organized this week - but I know I can do it !!

Anyone up for our own excersice challenge for the month of May ? For the month of April I had a goal to make it to 500. That wasn't alot compared to some poeple but for me it was alot and by the end of todaay I will probably pretty close after my walking and water aerobics class.

Anyone else want to play along too ?!

GOOD MORNING :goodvibes

I didn't have such a bad weekend.. I had one to many pieces of bread at a Cowboy Wedding I went to but I DIDN'T HAVE ANY CAKE :cool1: YAHOOOOOOOO !!!:yay: :dance3:

Hey all, I am new to this challenge and thought I would say hi and introduce myself.

I am a 24 yr old full time worker and part time college student so I tend to catch myself grabbing things on the go a lot. I am going to WDW in Sept and am really trying to get my weight down by then. I am really excited to start this challenge.

:cheer2: Good Luck Everyone! :cheer2:

Hi everyone~
I feel so out of the loop, I haven't had internet all weekend since we were moving.

My weekend eating wasn't the greatest. Since we were moving into our new house I caught myself snacking way more then usual. My husband had this huge Costco bag of gummy bears & I kept grabbing at those all day on Saturday since they were just on a bowl in the kitchen. We went out to eat Saturday night and we went to an Italian restaurant where I got Fettucini Alfredo for dinner, so I was kind of upset at myself after dinner for ordering that.

Yesterday I did pretty good though. I had yogurt for breakfast, almonds for a mid-morning snack, a salad for lunch, a hard boiled egg for an afternoon snack and baked chicken & broccoli for dinner. I boiled eggs last night & baked some extra chicken so that I would have some meals already cooked for this week.

I'm really hoping to eat healthy every day this week & my goal is to make it to the gym at least 3 days a week but I plan on going for walks & doing some other exercises daily. I woke up this morning at 5am & did a pilates video that I bought about a week ago. Very good workout! My abs are killing me...maybe that's because I haven't done a situp since my son was born in November...actually, longer then that since I didn't do any during my pregnancy. It feels good though...

I'm definitely excited about this week & I feel like I am mentally & physically ready to lose weight & meet all of my personal goals. I feel like nutrition is the hardest part for me & I threw away all of the "bad" foods this weekend while moving & went to the store & bought healthy choices, so I think I am finally committed 100% & ready to go.

Sorry for the long post :)

Hey Tia you didn't mention how your evening went today? Did you stay on track today? Did you stray at all? You seem to be doing well to on this diet. Way To Go!!!! Keep it up!
I actually did pretty good this weekend. I had a few moments of weakness, but all in all, it could have always been worse, so I am looking at the bright side! Got up this morning and did my Yoga so I am ready for this brand new day!!! Are YOU ready the week ahead?? :)
Here are a few weight loss motivation lines I found... there are lots of them, so can post a few a day! My personal favorite is the last one... but right now, I am the old fat one!:lmao:

Mark Twain: Quotes for Weight Loss Motivation
Habit is habit and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time.

Julius Erving: Quotes for Weight Loss Motivation
If you don't do what's best for your body, you're the one who comes up on the short end.

Jim Eason.: Quotes for Weight Loss Motivation
If you want to look young and thin, hang around old fat people.
Thanks for sharing these Colleen! I love reading affirmations and quotes! Keep em coming!

I expect for us to all do the very best we can! I also expect to forgive myself for being HUMAN and slipping up once in awhile. My goal is a long term one, and I know I can't be perfect everyday!

I should be able to do at least 500 minutes! So 15 minutes of Yoga in the morning and 15 at night. 20 minutes of Gazelle or walk each day. That's 50 minutes, times 30 days = 1500! Holy cow! Even if I just just my AM PM Yoga, I would be good to go! That makes me feel confindent I can do 500! Then I won't feel so horrible if I miss a day or two!

WELCOME!!! This is a really great group we have here. What are your goals? And what is your plan of action? Most of us seem to be in the mindset of eating better and moving more!

We ALL make wrong choices now and then. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT! Moving is stressful as it is and I know I never sit down and munch on salads and fruit when I move. You got up and did Pilates this morning! You are already setting the tone for a GREAT week! Keep it up ok?

I am going 9/22-9/28

Yahoooooooo !!! Another Popper :dance3: You will have to check out the thread in my signature.. we are having a "glow in the dark pool party"

join us if you can :yay:

I just signed up for the May challenge on the other thread- so I'll do the same here. I'm in for 1200 minutes. I usually do 40 minutes on the elliptical Monday through Saturday- so the 1200 will push me to get an evening work-out in every few days.

Ugh. I'm tired. I definitely didn't do good at all this weekend, but once again- it's a new day- nothing crazy happening (Saturday- Mom wanted us at the Olive Garden, yesterday was my lil sister's SIXTEENTH birthday) so I'll be able to stay on track as well.

I totally agree- food is my downfall. I can workout and eat like crap- which I guess is good for my muscles, etc, but it does NOTHING for my weight! I have to eat well and work-out to drop weight!

I think I'll sign up for the May challenge too. I'll head over to the other thread & see what I need to do. I'm thinking if I can get at least 60 minutes of exercise 5 days/week that is about 1500/month. Since this will be my first month doing the challenge I think I'll go for 1200 & see where I am at the end of the month. If I have more--Awesome, but I want to at least get 1200.

We can cheer on each other then- 1200 sounds like SO MUCH work- but really, if we chip away at it daily, it will melt away! (And hopefully melt away a few pounds!!! Hehehehe!)

I agree, it sounds like a lot, but I'm thinking that if I set that number as my goal then I have something to works towards instead of just saying that I need to get 30-40 minutes of exercise. Having a end goal pushes me a little harder I think...I don't know.

I really think having everyone to "talk" to on a daily basis is helping me stay focused and think twice before eating things that aren't good for me or sitting on my butt instead of exercising. Like last night, I took a break and sat down for a little bit on the couch & before long I hopped up and decided that I need to do some crunches & squats...hehe

I agree- I'll be on the computer and think, "Hey, I can get in 20 more minutes on the elliptical!"

I'll tell you one secret I did to pass a Physical Fitness test before ;) I was trying to 'up' my sit-ups to 80 in less then 2 minutes (I think?). So whenever I watched television, whenever the commercials came on- I'd do as many sit-ups as I could while the commercials were on.

And guess what? I kicked BUTT on sit-ups by the time I had to do them!
