I hope you'll be able to quit smoking. My mom quit in May after having a stroke at 53. She smoked for over 30 years and said when she was in the hospital that she wasn't going to smoke again. As far as I know, other than the e-cigarette, she hasn't. I was the kid who always begged my mom to quit smoking and when Peyton started asking her to, I told her not to bother, I'd been trying for years and I hadn't made a dent. For you and your kids sake, I hope you'll be able to quit without a medical emergency making the decision for you.
All that being said, sorry to be preachy. Obviously, with my mom's situation, I feel passionately about it but I know it's easier said than done. I'll say some prayers for you and not beat you up about it again. I hope you get that it's coming from a good place.

Ok, Lex and the wood floor. Are your bedrooms upstairs? If not, how do you stand the sound of Great Dane nails on the floor? We put wood floors in the living room in October - never realized how restless Cooper was at night until then.

YES! My staircase and my whole upstairs is carpeted. he isn't allowed upstairs since he is a murderer of stuffed animals. HE has been banned from going up there. I cannot touch his nails either. He had a nail trim called a show cut. Now he will NOT allows any of us to cut his nails.

How does Matt feel about the diet/weight issue? Hope you both are doing well with it!

He is a bit more health conscious then the other two. started 'working out' about 2 weeks before football started.. When the other two will grab cookies Matt will grab grapes.
He understands he need to lose the 5 pounds and is good with it!

well... They are still sitting here on my desk staring at me.. I have some stuff to start decorating. Yet i am scared to start..

My younger brother played Pee-Wee football and they were militant on the weight issue. But, I remember there were boys on the team who were like 65 lbs up to over 100... Such a wide variety, but it IS football after all.

they really are sticklers about the weight issues. the same weight bracket they are in now. We are a football lovin family, he will do it.

Best of luck quitting smoking! My dad quit about 10 years ago. I hassled him about it constantly as a teenager, so it was a real relief when he did. Be sure to treat yourself when you do!!

I HATE the weight thing for football. At that age what the heck does it matter???? It just seems to me that the emphasis on weight is potentially harmful and totally unnecessary!! Okay, off my soapbox. I know you don't like it either. But it's true, 5 pounds for a boy is easy peasy.

yeah i feel bad.. But i can see the point of a 70 pound kid going up against a kid about 130.
Then again in the schools it's 4th-6th grade if they are over the weight they are stripped. I LOVE this. No kid is turned away. no worries!!

Glad the kids are back with the bulldogs... Sad about the diet, but he's a kid - he should be able to lose that really easily.

Football is a highly strenuous sport. as long as he stays away from all the sugary stuff he will be fine. They practice everyday for 2 hours or more. Every year the kids slim down tremendously during football.

LOL - No packing for you! Hahaha... I am gonna LOVE to see how you manage to get this packing done... You'll need to send them off with Tom for a few days so there are no interruptions.

We were at the thrift store yesterday and I saw a custom Mickey head similar to those. It was for an adult. It did say Tammy on it, but I was prepared to be Tammy for the day. It would be my only "custom" Disney clothing item. My kids flat out told me that I couldn't get it. It was even half off. I tried to tell them noone knows my real name there anyway. Nope, they wouldn't budge.

I love the all the fun stuff that Lois sent. Reminded me that I need to pack some fans. You do have the Bestest friends.

I'm listening to D-Cot while I'm typing and they are playing the music from Spectromagic Parade. I won't lie, I get teary over that music. I miss that parade so much. Heck, I always got teary when the parade began and I'd hear those first notes.

I'm with D~ on wondering when/how you're going to pack for this trip! But if anyone can pull it off it's you! I cannot wait to see the pics/video of the reveal!!!!

Oh, now Carousel of Progress is on. Another favorite! Sorry, it's the little things that excite me!

Happy Monday!

The ONLY good Monday is either spent at HOME or in DISNEY!!! Not at work.

Let's start with the weekend: **** if you don't want to hear my ramble of the weekend my Disney updates are below in Purple****

Friday was work, Basketball practice- giving out the uniforms- then dog training
all of went well.

Saturday: 9 am a friend of mine picked me up to go shooting (pictures) the air and water show was this past weekend. The Blue Angels were here as they are every year.. which my house is in their flight between downtown and where they are stationed. it's been fun to watch them fly around. One day they scared the living bejesus out of us and i had to pull the car over they were so close i was able to see the pilot. So we went out to the airport where they were and waited... and waited... and waited for them to take off.. I really wanted a shot of them with the exhaust and the take off.. but we waited and waiting the SOB's never took off. sure your buzzing around my neighborhood like you own the place but NOW that i want a shot of take off. they are sitting pretty ON THE GROUND NOT MOVING...
Not happy..
then i get a call from one of the parents of the girls on the basketball team.. I have a girl down. she sprained her ankle. Now i am frantically calling the guy who runs the league asking if i need to forfeit.
No call back. so i make the decision to cancel the game as i will only have 4 girls out of 8 today... the game was at 1:30. it was about 11.
well the guy who runs the league finally calls me back and tell me how the other teams wants to play and will give me a girl to borrow.
call back the other parents. tell them the game is back on. rush home get Meg together pack up everything and drive out to the game.
we made it and the girls had a blast. I don't hink meg understood how much running there really is in basketball... But she is enjoying it and she needs the exercise.. especially the endurance to do the Disney walk!!! always have a secret agenda...

Who is the CUTEST BASKETBALL PLAYER EVER?!?!​

after the game i was FAMISHED!!! starving! stomach growling like crazy... I drove so it was off to Portillos. i was in NEED of a delicious beef sandwich.. Not really thinking everyone orders we sit. Matt devours a full beef. 1/3 of the fry i have them share with cheese. and a DANG MILKSHAKE! oops. Yet how can i let the other two have milkshakes and Matt can't? nope not doing it.
after he ate EVERYTHING he looks at me really sad and said.. "I really want to play football..." BAD MOM MOMENT... i felt terrible. But told him we will be good here on out. this was out last Bad food until weight ins. he agreed and we are being GOOD!!! and he wants to come to Megs practices to help work out and football everyday which is a brutal workout he will be fine (well that is what i keep telling myself.)
Did i mention Football weigh ins is Sept 3rd? yeah 2 days before we leave??? IF he does not make this weight in he is out for the season. Since the second weight in is when we are IN Disney. see the pressure?!?!
When we finally arrived home i fell on my face. and took a 2 hour nap... apparently i needed it.
woke up did some cleaning then Matt looks at me very serious eyes very WIDE open and states he NEEDS A SALAD for dinner. mind you he is being silly. then told him you need to tell Dad as i haven't gone shopping yet. Walks over to Tom puts his little hands on either side of Tom's arms looks directly at him eyes HUGE. I NEED A SALAD. after laughing. Zack looks at us both and says i could go for a nice cheeseburger.
ugh boys... For dinner all three had a grilled chicken salad. Matt no dressing. his decision.

Sunday was my dog club's picnic woke up early for set up we had a great day for it. Cloudy cool yet humid. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG day.

it was a good time we were home by 5. the kids had salads again we watched Tangled, then the Little Mermaid. Tom was at work the rest of us were just relaxing after a long day. We were enjoying each other so much it was killing me not to talk to them about Disney. UGH i had such a weak moment. with all the pressure of sports working hard this day at the picnic. Starting 4th grade (they are nervous they don't like this teacher) I wanted to give them something happy to look forward too.. thankfully the FB Sept group talked me off my proverbial cliff. I didn't. We went to bed early... Apparently Sunday's are hard for me. Tom is at work and i am alone with the munchkins.

I only have to be alone with them for 2 more Sundays.. .


DISNEY TALK!
Back up to Friday again... i was on the phone with Disney for 73 minutes...
I called to make my final payment.. as we were going through all my stuff she had a different amount then i had. after the 70 minutes she wanted to put me on hold again and i had to decline- as i had to LEAVE! and doing a bio-break dance!!! needless to say i did NOT make my last payment. I wasn't able to during the weekend as you saw it was a bit busy. i will be calling again today...

I did get my e-mail from Disney and the BOG lunch. which i am excited about. ON the kids birthday!!!! Another AWESOME SCORE for their birthday!

Speaking of:
On Sunday relaxing with each other they brought up their birthday.... Ugh oh right???
This is what THEY want. asked if they can stay home from school... YEP! Sure NO PROBLEM!!! go that covered. Zack asked about choices for dinner. I said whatever they want it's THEIR birthday. Of course came up with 3 different answers. Humm... OK let's play this lie out.
Zack wants my stuffed chicken breasts. Meg wants to go to the Buffet by the house and Matt wants Chili's.
So my thought was lets do all three. Hey what do i care - i can tell them we will go to Lowery's downtown with a Broadway show afterwards right? Nothing i am about to tell them will be close to the truth....
What they believe will happen:Their Birthday party is a week earlier becuase of the first football game is on Sept 7th and we can't have tired children for their first game. They will have their birthday off of school. Then for three nights we will be doing their dinner choices. What they came up with was Zack's dinner is first since he was the oldest. then Matt's then Megs the final night... Sure!!! hey why not? whatever you guys come up with it's your birthday! Snicker snicker...
Oh the tangled web of lies... The simpler the lies the better for me.

The Plans:​

Sept 4th Thursday:
Kids in bed EARLY. Pack- repack check all lists. Tom will go to the store for me and get snacks anything else i am missing. pack up the car

Sept 5th Friday:
Kids go to school Tom and i go to work like normal day... my half day is 9am go to the party store get the three balloons race home. Tom will stop and get sandwiches for the road. Have the big Surprise box ready and put on the side of the house. Pack last minute items i.e. flat irons- make up- their stuffies, etc.
Take my car over to my parents house to decorate it. They will bring my car over after the kids get home. hopefully about 3:20. drapes CLOSED.
Key up the movie start some popcorn.maybe some mickey snacks. I need to stay busy.
Kids will be home about 3:15 MUST STAY CALM. whoever will be there to watch the movie will be there by this time.

Tell the kids. I made you a movie i would like you guys to watch! everyone settle in get comfy watch the movie. a friend of mine Kathy will be the pixi duster of the surprise box. at the exact perfect Moment of when Mickey states to press pause the door will open and shut. Que the Dogs barking like lunatics. Kathy can come back in through the back door like she was in the kitchen. Kids will not notice since the have this huge awesome box. Open box
three Mickey balloons will fly out with the notes.

Meg: Let The

Zack: Begin.

They will have bewildered looks on their faces. tell them, to come back adn watch the rest of the movie.

They will at this point LOSE THEIR MINDS and go bat crap crazy fun!!!! hope to have them finish the rest of the box!!!

once everyone calms down we will say our goodbyes - I will miss my puppies but know they will be in good hands with my house sitter!!! - it's that time I don't know who will take the first shift in driving. Most likely me since i will be on a Disney high and way over excited. Explain to the kids No there will be No separate dinners and fill them in!!!! hand them Lois's gift video this too... and then the binders so they know a little of what is going on...


What do you all thing about this?!?! what about stops? Do you have ANY suggestions of where to stop on the way down?!!?
