Wasting away again in Loserville-(all welcome to grab an adult beverage and come in)

Morning all!!!!

Off to work, be good!

my turn for a kid (DS5) waking up before the sun does, although mine chose 5am. He says his heads hurts, he is very clingy, he feels warm, but so far no fever on the themometer. I think I might need to cancel PT for him

DS10 is more tired than usual and he says his eyes are bothering bc of his allergies.

I think it is going to be a long day.

Morning.

Why the heck did I schedule a Dr. appt for DD at 8:20 in the morning? :sad2:
She's going for her Kindergarten registration checkup so we can enroll her next month.

Good luck! I think that one is 4 shots :scared1: My kids are ecstatic that there are no more shots till they hit 10 :woohoo:

Have a good day everyone!

:lmao:
I am a horrible mom. The dog knocked the trash over and so I had my son go out and pick it up. Well he came in and got a broom and came back and was telling me the dog peed on the trash. EEEEEEWWWWW. I feel so bad for making him do it. Not that I would have, I would of just let the backyard become a landfill first.

Also something funny, my son goes to catholic high school and has religion. Well I did CCD for years but don't remember much because I goofed off the whole time. So we were going oever the ten commandments to help him study and all I could remember was thou shall not kill. Then I said thou shall not cover thy neighbors wife. Yep cover. We were rolling so hard. :rotfl:

Heck, if she's cold, coverher!:dance3:

Poor thing, picking up garbage peed on by the dawg :rotfl: I bet that dog thought he was really insuring that garbage would be there when he came back for more later

I think the thing to remember is EVERYONE is different. Some love being pregnant while others hate it. Some people have difficult pregnancies but easy deliveries (me), there really is no rhyme or reason. I try to stand clear of the "advice train" because it seems that everyone has some story to tell and how things "should" be done. My only words of comfort are to take everything with a grain of salt because it may or may not apply to you and only you can determine what does apply and how to handle it. This is true of pregnancy advise and parenting advise. Other than hitting the crack pipe while your pregnant while chugging a beer or beating your children, there is no "wrong" way. I have told many a friend who is concerned about too much of something or they are craving something.....having kids is a crapshot and you have the luck of the draw. If some drug addict can use and abuse her whole pregnancy and have a "normal" child then that extra cup of coffee isn't going to make a big difference. It helps to put things into perspective a little some times.

Motherhood is an experience I personally would not give up. It isn't for everyone and I respect that. I actually commend those that know it is not for them and make a conscious decision to not have them. It is a pain I will never forget nor will I candy coat it by saying "you forget it" - you don't!, but having said that I would go through it again in a heartbeat! It is the single most rewarding "job" I have ever had and an amazing process to see how a child is the size of something basically unseeable and the progression to feeling those little kicks, seeing the ultrasounds, and then a newborn babe. It is unbelievable how much your child changes in that 1st year from a cute little lump of love to an interactive human being that responds to your voice, touch, etc.

Malibu, I was afraid of delivering too - I think it's completely normal to be concerned with how "this thing" is going to get out of there  :scared1:  Think Aliens nightmares :scared1: Bottom line it's coming out 1 way or another and everyone handles it differently. My step-sister is probably the biggest baby I know and she went through labor and delivery without any pain killers at all! Only you can know what your body is handling at that moment and be the one to request/demand pain meds and do not let anyone tell you differently! Go in with a plan and make sure your physician and SO knows what it is. My request was to get as far along as possible w/o meds but that I was not opposed to them. Some people do not want them, others do the second they feel a contraction. To each their own and whatever makes you have the best birthing experience possible. You know we'll all be cheering you on when the time comes!

 You're right pregnancy is so different for everyone. I was actually one of those that for a long time didn't think having kids was for me. I did when I was younger, I wanted to be a "young mom". THAT didn't happen, but DH and I are happy for the way things have worked out. We had our time to be married and moving around the country together just the two of us. Plus we're still young enough that by the time the kids are grown we won't be too old to enjoy ourselves.

Oh boy! Got a call from the school nurse. Katie got mad at her teachers, so she punched herself in the mouth.:headache:

They were trying to get her to sign "swings" on the playground. She didn't want to. Instead she made a fist, and bopped herself in the mouth. Her lip or gums were bleeding.

No loose teeth that we can tell.

Aww, poor thing. So, Katie uses sign? I have a nephew who does as well. I'd love to hear about your daughter and how things work for her.

True. I can say he is so good to me it is makes me cry. Evry night he just rubs my back until I fall asleep. He still reads to me when I have to have my test done at the DRS and also during my treatments. one of my DRS told him she wants to bottle what he is made of and hand it out to others. She says it brings tears to her eyes every time she is told by anyone about him.
I guess he is the talk of the Hospital

Good to see you around. Sounds like you have a keeper for sure. So happy he's taking good care of you.

Fraggle - I have a sunburn too. got it on Saturday. My arms are better now, but my chest is still pretty red. Oh - and gaining weight is good for the baby, but in the first 24 weeks I only gained 10 lbs total, then 7 lbs between weeks 24 and 28. It just seems like a lot at once.

Morning losers! Where's everyone today? I came on thinking I'd have to catch up but there's not much going on. We're not gonna let it get boring are we? :rotfl2:

I am just drinking my coffee. Has anyone tried White Chocolate Mudside flavored creamer? It is:love: . DH still has his boring vanilla so he's happy, but this may be my new fav.

Today is crazy hair day. Of course DS informed me at 9 last night. Fortunately I have several cans of hair color spray and made a target on his head. Had an arrow in it but he thought the little rubberband was pulling his hair too much. Told him it's good thing he's not a girl--he's not tough enough to have his hair done daily!:rotfl: I'll post pics when I get them uploaded

hey guys. im in a ton of pain. I can barely sit. Walking across campus to class should be a real joy. sleeping was oh so much fun too. Im so stupid. ALWAYS use sunblock, even in April when its not warm out! I could kick myself right now if I could move my damn legs. :headache:

If you are really bad you can try calling your PCP and have them prescribed silverdine - it's a cream specifically for burns and is a Godsend! Just let the pcp know that you have tried creams, aloe, etc. and are getting no relief and could they call in a script for it. It is mucho expensive and you cannot get without script but is covered by health insurance so you only have to pay a co-pay! I have some left over from a painful sunburn last year and I will NEVER throw it out just in case!

ahhh Fraggle:hug:

Make sure you take your ibuprofen every 4-6 hours like clockwork, it wlll work as the antiinflammatory.

I have BTDT, it is not fun.

That's what I told my kids at age 4, no more shots till 10. Then the Drs. came up with TWO new vaccinations-one is a booster for hepatitus, the other, not sure what it is..menangitus maybe? Anyway DS8 had to get that last year and DS10 had to get his last month. Luckily at this age they said it didn't hurt, but they DID remember that I told them no more shots til age 10!! Never say never!

Hope the Drs appointment went ok. owie...I hate shots.

She only needed one :woohoo: & no more till 2013, which she is VERY happy about.

20/20 eye sight & perfect hearing. Now I really have proof that she is just ignoring me when I talk to her & not really looking for a certain thing when I tell her too :lmao:

Now, after we scarf down some breakfast, I have to run to the commissary & pick up some stuff for FE's lunch & bring it to him (luckily work is 5 mins from the house).

I hope I don't get too bored today, I'm tired of cleaning.

I have some of this unopened in my fridge..I think I wll go get some and join you!

3P, I hope your mom is better today.

Fraggle, ow, I'm sorry you are still hurting.

 To everyone else. I am going to run some errands today and hopefully get back to some laundry folding. This place is such a mess I just don't know where to begin. so I don't.;)

We do flu shots here, so I always buy the kids a little something when they get shots. DD14 doesn't mind shots anymore but DS is still freaked out by them. I always push him to choose the shot when he has strep throat so I have to buy a little bigger something then--those antibiotic needls are huge!

As far as shots--they now seem to combine. DD actually only had 2 for 7th grade because they combined all but the meninngitis. Now I have to take her back for a checkup and decide if I'll get her the new HPV shot. I probably need to look for a GP, for here, too as she won't want to goo to the ped. much longer. Sigh! My family is growing up.

On a sad note, today is my Friday. There's no school tomorrow so the kidlets will be home, although there is talk of DD going on a sleepover. Now DS will want a sleepoover here:headache: . I hate sleepovers.

I just remembered that she only got one shot today, because she had to get the other ones before she started going to day care last year, DUH (smack hand to forehead).

well I called my mom. Shes a nurse. I have to go get burn cream. I have a small amount here, but I need like a Costco sized amount. If the health office doesnt have it, I probably have to go to the E.R., unless she can get some from one of her doctors she works with. I've never ever ever been this burnt before. Its my entire body. I cant even sit down to pee because it hurts to bad to stand up again. That makes it interesting for all the water im drinking.

Good luck withthat one! All of mine have that selective hearing, too. Dh and I tested them by calling quietly "dinner" or "who want an oreo?" and they come running from the basement.
Sometimes I think yelling makes them tune out, anyway, but that doesn't stop me from yelling!;) :rotfl:

I hope I don't get too bored today, I'm tired of cleaning.

I am trying to find an excuse to not clean. We need some excitement around here.

Apparently it is Take Your Child To Work Day.

Who knew? :confused3

I don't think they make a big deal of that anymore. Hope DS doesn't hear about it--he'll do anything to get out of school!

I bought tickets to see the Symphony tribute to John Williams (Composer--star wars, indiana jones, superman, etc.) and they were $258 for the 4 of us!:scared1: And they talk all the time about making the arts accesible?? Now, I could have gotten the $35 tickets instead of the $60, but still. It woul've been $158 for those! I stayed away from the $80 tickets though. Maybe I should've gotten those and saved $100. But we are not usually symphony people and I thought we'd do it up---dress up, make an evening out of it. WHo knows if we'll ever go back?

I am now angry because I am thinking about affordable things for a family of 4 to do, and there really isn't much around here. It's very frustrating.
