Does anyone have any info on seeing the cherry blossoms? I know there is a festival and the best time to see them is in beginning of april, but I have no idea about the area and the best places to stay. any good hotels? I would like to be in the center of things
Thanks

It is less expensive to stay a few miles out of DC, than closer to town. If you stay on the metro line route, you will save money and only be a subway ride from the festivities. Besides, riding the metro is a fun little thing to do in itself and their stations are generally very nice and safe. I doubt, at this late date, there would be anything close to the city anyways. You may find that you would have to stay further out due to limited availability.

dc is crazy during cherry blossoms but it is also beautiful.. if you are going for the blossoms go for it if you want to hit museaums and such the crowds in them will be HUGE vs other times of the year... we lived there for 4 years and went into the city 2 of those years for the blossoms... it is amazing it's like it's snowing flowers... be prepared to walk a great deal

We have reservations and are tentatively planning a trip for 4/2 - 4/4. Funds are pretty short right now so there's a chance we may cancel.

The Cherry Blossoms are BEAUTIFUL! We have tons of pictures from one year when it was in the 70s and sunny. I think we took a picture of almost every tree around the Tidal Basin!

The last time we went - several years ago - it snowed. We don't have so many pictures from that trip. All I remember is walking as fast as I could, with a scarf wrapped around my face and dying to get into the Jefferson Memorial so I could warm up!

Hopefully, the weather this year will be a little better. I don't need 70's but I'd REALLY prefer no snow!

i can get the w washington, the dupont, four points at sheraton, fairfax
any one have any suggestions?

We went on Saturday and it was rainy and cold, and the Air and Space Museum and the National History Museum were both really packed. We could barely push the stroller around, it was so busy. I can't imagine going during a very busy week..we went when it was cold and rainy. Still fun, but the crowds were high. We are glad we went though!

EMbassy suits Vienna VA with breakfast and a nightly managers reception its 103$ for a 1 bedroom king suite. Its a nice deal if u have kids
