Washington DC area (inc MD & VA) DISers

Oh, NO! My dd just asked to go there. Guess we'll have to head down to Disney!!! :rotfl:

I just stumpled onto this thread and I think it's a great idea......Has a date and place been decided?? DH & I would love to attend. We are in the Eastern Panhandle of WV, Jefferson Co. right next to Loudoun Co. so we are still close enough to be considered DC Metro area!!!! Can I come can I come????

Of course you can come, but so far, we can't seem to get it together! :goodvibes

:rotfl: I warned you all that I'm unorganized! Let's throw out some dates and we can pick one. Maybe sometime in the spring we can try it again to catch the people who are unable to do a Nov/Dec meeting. But my calendar is in the kitchen where the workers are replacing my floor, so I can't figure out the dates right now. :teeth:

Yep. Verified. I was at Tyson's this week and the place is CLOSED!!

However, the new food court looks pretty nice and they've put 2 or 3 new (big) restaurants in the new wing.

Wow, that is surprising. ALthough the food so sucked at RFC, I guess I can see why people were reluctant to go there, ambiance aside.

T&B, want me to just name some November/December weekend dates so you don't have to deal with the workers? :teeth:

Saturday, November 19
Sunday, November 20
Saturday, November 26
Sunday, November 27
Saturday, December 3
Sunday, December 4
Saturday, December 10
Sunday, December 11
Saturday, December 17
Sunday, December 18

I can't do Saturdays in November but all the Sundays look o.k. to me at this point.

I think that we figured out that Sundays were best for people overall. So lets pick one of the Sunday early afternoons. When is Thanksgiving? Must be Nov 24th? I'd vote for Nov 20th. If that doesn't work for the majority my #2 choice would be Dec 11th. Dec 4th is my birthday so my family might want to spend it with me. :rotfl: I was in WDW with my 5yo (and my sis and mom) my last birthday.

I haven't been to RFC in years and have never been to one of the Orlando ones.

When we decide for sure on the date I'll post the info in other areas on the DIS.

Hey Snoopy. I tried to send you a PM but I got a message saying you weren't accepting PMs. ??? :confused3

When you decide where and need a definite head count, I'll let you know. I have to be in College Park on 11/19 but really don't want to pay for a hotel room. I'll have to decide after I find out what time the football game starts.

Nov. 20th works for me as well!

I think one of the new restaurants at Tyson's is Gordon Birsch, which is run by the same company that owns Big River Grille at BWV. Since Rainforest Cafe is out, maybe that'd be a good alternative.

The other restaurant is Coastal Flats which is part of the "Great American" chain (Carlyle, Mike's American, Silverado, and Sweetwater). Great restaurant; however, I'm thinking they aren't going to be wild about a large-ish group lingering. Can you guys think of any place that wouldn't mind us sitting for awhile?

November 20th wouldn't work here, but I can always come in the spring if you all meet then! :sunny:

Hey, I would love to join the group! I'll keep watching for a confirmation date!

November 20th is a great date, it's my birthday! :cool1:

November 20th is fine for me, and so are December 4th and 11th (and Happy Birthday T&B!).

I have to agree that the food at RFC was never great, but there was always a huge line so I can't imagine why they closed. We had Madison's 1st birthday party there so I'm a little sad that it's gone now.

Bumping this back to page one. So far Nov 20th is looking good to most of us...

bumping this back to page one.

Looks like Nov 20th will be the date! Now for a head count...

We will be there (2 Adults). Did we decided on a place?
