Washington DC area (inc MD & VA) DISers

If it is in DC, could it be near a Metro stop? I won't drive in there.

I'd be fine with it in Montgomery County, or if we do it D.C., we can do it near a Metro stop. Last time we did it at Fuddruckers, which wasn't the greatest place to have it because its just crowded and loud in there. One other time we had it at Rain Forest Cafe in Tysons. Whats over in Montgomery Mall, is there a RFC there? That might be a good neutral place. And of course we have a ton of good places to eat here in D.C. that are all near Metro stops -- if we are interested in D.C. let me know and I can make some suggestions.

I think that's a good idea--I've never driven past the zoo in DC, in spite of living here for 14 years. Or we could have it somewhere near the beltway--that would be easy for people who are driving a distance to get here. Maybe in the Tysons Corner area. There must be places there that would be good for our group.

I didn't know there were so many of us!! Dh and I are in Fairfax.

I would be up for a meet, I am in Great Falls.

Me too...... Maybe us frednecks could meet up one time too...

I'd help with a meet T&G.... (I've always had a vision in my head of a large group dressed in lime green in front of the washington monument. :rotfl: )

As for places to meet....I don't think there's much at Montgomery Mall but there is Cheesecake factory or Dave and Buster's at White Flint Mall...

I'm in NoVa. I think Tyson's would be a great idea!! :goodvibes

Was there a DIS meet at Tysons before? If so, which restaurant? Is there a brunch type place that would have a variety of food?

That would be a good place! A variety of food and we could at least pretend that we are at WDW.

Lol, that's funny. As long as we can order a VOLCAAAANNNOOOO! I love when they do that. :rotfl:

There is also a Cheesecake Factory at Tysons II Mall. Yum! Yum! :earboy2:

There is also The Melting Pot. They have a location in DC and Arlington, VA (both walking distance from Metro stops). I haven't been to one in years, but I know lots of people that go there for "larger" group functions (showers, bachelorette parties). A bit pricey but I think they let you linger awhile.

Montgomery Mall has a Legal Sea Foods for whoever asked what is available there. There's also in in Tysons II though. I know there's gotta be something else in the Mont. Mall, but I can't think at the moment.

Like someone else said, White Flint has Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang's, and Bertucci's.

Maggiano's is pretty good for large groups too. My friend's rehersal dinner was at the Friendship Heights location (but there's also one at Tysons II), but I'm not sure how far in advance you have to book them. It's right above the Friendship Heights metro stop though (along with Cheesecake Factory).

Would this be a whole family kinda thing? If so Madison LOVES the Rainforest Cafe (we had her 1st birthday there) so we'd definitely be up for that.

Oh yeah, and those of you who don't drive in DC are a bunch of wimps! I live on 23rd and M St. so I do it on a daily basis and it's really not all that bad!

It's not the driving so much as getting rid of the car once I get there.

Another Marylander! If it's a week end, I'm game! :jumping1:
