Washington d.c. priceline

I named my own price on priceline. I won a bid of 75.00 at the Hotel George at the end of March. I am traveling with my 8 yr. old son. Now I am worried that this hotel will not be safe because it does not seem to be in the best area. I picked downtown near the White House, the convention center and Alexandria Old town 4 star hotels. Am I overreacting ? Has anyone ever stayed at this hotel?

Read the reviews on TripAdvisor. As far as the area goes I don't expect you'll be wandering around too late at night with an 8-year old and the hotel itself will provide security. I'd sleep well at night there.

Last trip we were there we walked by it several times (we had pricelined a hotel nearby) and I said to my DH "Wow, we should try to stay there next time". I the location, no near Union Station (cheaper eats there than lots of places..) but also so close to the Capital. I would feel safe there - really, there are so many tourists around there - up until a while after dinner time, or later. It also just looked like a very cute hotel! LEt us know what you think and good to know its on PRiceline.
