We need to get a new washer and dryer (the owners of the house we are buying are taking their's with them). I have a few questions:

We have been looking very seriously at the GE Harmony washer and dryer units, anyone have experience with that particular GE line?

Also, I've thought about the Front-loader washers for the efficiency and quietness of operation, but DW is unconvinced (personally I just think she doesn't like the commercial (round glass door) look to it. Any experience with front-loading washers?

Finally, the existing hook-up in the new house is electric for the dryer, but there is natural gas in the house for the stove/range...is it worth it to pay the extra $50-100 for the dryer, and then the extra $300 for running the gas line to the laundry room for a gas dryer? Is it that much more enrgy efficient over electric?

Thanks in advance.

Front loader, we have Maytag Neptune, is great. Marie really likes it, much more efficient. We too have electric, never considered gas. Good luck.

I have Whirlpool Senseon. It is one step below their front loader and I love it. A friend has the front loader and is very happy with it. In our area gas is cheaper than electric to run so that is what almost everyone has around here.
