Would never buy a front loader again. The smell is not worth it. When I complained to a service tech, he pulled out a copy of a newspaper story pointing out how normal it was. He must get the question a lot and was prepared with a large pile of the stories.
That will be a challenge for DH b/c he's always afraid the cat will jump in there.
We have a one story house with a laundry room. I didn't realize that front loaders could smell. I guess I just need to leave the door open all the time? That will be a challenge for DH b/c he's always afraid the cat will jump in there.

For those of you that have the front loaders, do you have the stand/drawer on the bottom? Do you think you really need it?
I bought all new appliances so cost was a factor to me--esp. when they have such a short life span these days!I just had to buy one on an emergency basis and I got a Samsung Front Loader washer and dryer. They were $599 each. I really like them.
