Was not impressed with Crystal palace last week

We ate Dinner at the CP last summer and I did not care for the food either. I was actually getting chicken strips and Mac and Cheese off of the kids bar because there was just not much I liked. I know alot of people really like it but it is not a place we have any desire to go back to. I am glad we went though because Character interaction was great and we finally have DD's pictures with all the pooh characters.

DH and I loved the food there. We did a late lunch and were able to sample the dinner foods as well. Those mashed potatoes were so good. I also loved the prime rib and most of all the adobo pulled pork. I'd love to get the recipe for that one. There were so many things to choose from. I skipped out on dessert b/c I was trying the other stuff. I can't wait to go back there.

Our favorite at Crystal Palace is the breakfast. It's a must for us every trip! Sorry you didn't enjoy your lunch.

For those of you who thought it was spicy, what dishes in particular did you find to be spicy?

I'm getting a little worried now because my mom and I both dislike spicy foods, and that's where I'm having my birthday dinner in May. :scared:

We ate at the CP for lunch on Saturday the 5th our service was fine we was well taken care of an the characters all came around at least once. Tigger snuck up on my DD an leaned on her shoulder for a min an surprised her.

Our complaint was the FOOD I never did find anything I really liked. I tried almost everything on the buffet did not walk away hungry but I'd never found anything I even cared to take more than a couple of bites of. FOOD MUCH TO SPICEY for us. Even the desserts left much to be desired an there again I tried most everything but nothing that I wanted to eat more than a couple of bites of.

We should have been more than ready for a good meal after eating fast food all week from the CS.

We did eat at Planet Hollywood on New Years Eve before starting our disney stay on New years Day we all really enjoyed our food there an got excellent service with only about a 15 min wait at 7 pm on New Years Eve not bad at all. Service was very good food good yeah its a noisy place but we knew that going in.

I agree the food wasn't great. That you thought it was spicy is funny! We thought it bland and just odd. The prime rib was good, but I had already been to Boma so it didn't compare. The sides were quite poor. And it was very dirty when we went. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great overall. And in a week of great food, CP fell to the bottom of our dining adventures. butthe character interaction was great! And isn't that what we go there for? :goodvibes

Sorry you didn't enjoy the food at CP. I really love the lunch and dinner there, there are so many interesting dishes that you don't find at other places at WDW, along with lots of basics. Love the tropical slaw!

I really liked CP when we went to dinner for our last night on our May trip. I thought the food was way above average for a buffet. They had a flan on the dessert table that was to die for.

I would go again but DH is not crazy about dining with Disney Characters(my 6 yr old loved it, even though he's the first one to say their just people in costumes:rotfl2: ).

We just returned from Disney and did eat at the Crystal Palace for the evening buffet. Not only was the restaurant tables and floors dirty, the buffet was also very messy. There was food spilled all around the area including the floor, the different foods and salad dressing were spilled into each other. My husband found 3 hairs in the shrimp that were definitely not his!! We spoke with the manager and she really did not seem to care. The quality of food and the noise level was of a cheap cafeteria buffet. I do not recommend!:sad2:

I don't read too much about this place but it is sooo worth mentioning. It was by far one of the best comfort food buffet my family and I have ever had. The unlimited food is brought to your table for you to share and it was absolutely delicious. The service was also well above standard. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to visit again!!:cheer2:
