Hi everyone! I have been lurking, and from what it sounds like, everyone has had a disney wedding that was amazing and perfect. Is there anyone out there that wishes they had not gone so overboard with costs, or thought something they paid for was not worth it?
Just wondering,
Thanks!

Honestly, no! We were very straight forward with our planner about what our budget was and she actually talked us down from things that were out of our price range more than once! Not something I expected at all, having visited other venues where all they did was sell sell sell!

We had a dreadful experience with our Magic Kingdom portrait session, so I'd say that was definitely not worth the $1,000 (it's $1,100 nowadays). Other than that, we stuck to the minimum expenditure almost exactly, so there wasn't any going overboard, yet the wedding looked and felt like we'd spent big bucks! :goodvibes

Not a single thing :goodvibes

Honestly, it was the best day of my life, everything was wonderful. Even the items that we spent a lot on we would certainly do again.

A lot of trip reports have a "I'm glad I did" and "I wish I didn't" section it may be worth you having a browse through some?

I second this, try to check some out because it will be a good summary of what brides may have regretted.

In my case, we didn't really splurge on anything and kept our Escape wedding pretty standard to what comes with the package. We did, however, hire an outside photographer which I 100% recommend and do not regret.

I do want to reiterate that the money we spent on our Disney wedding was absolutely worth it :goodvibes

Was it worth it? Yes, yes it was.
Both DH and I agree that if we had to do it all over again we would in a heart beat and exactly the very same way. Yes including MK and AK shoots because the results came out fantastic.
Every penny we spent was well worth it. It was the happiest day of our lives and a memory we will cherish forever.
Just pure magic!

Our DFTW will be happening in exactly 26 days. I can say that there have been frustrating moments. We are paying for this on our own so budget is a huge factor for us. The way they have things laid out is sometimes confusing lurkyloos books was a lifesaver. I highly recommend it if you are seriously considering a DFTW. Disney charges insane amounts for floral, transportation and other things plus misc. "fees and charges". Just be wary of location restrictions etc...If you are craft pick a location where you can DIY your decor this will save you loads of money. Often people can be hard to get a hold of as well. If you are flexible then you can certainly get your money worth. So is it worth it...I sure hope so! I'll let you know in 26 days! Hope this helps!:goodvibes

We actually spent less on our DFTW than a wedding in our home town would have cost - so our dream day actually saved us money! There were things that we definitely splurged on (Cinderella's Carriage, MK session), but we stayed within a budget that we had set for ourselves. I am glad that we didn't spend a ton of money on decor because we really had a great day, and I don't regret not spending a lot on it.

Worth every penny. Both my DH and I agree it was definately worth it. To be honest it would probably have cost us a lot more had we had an at home wedding. Having a destination wedding we had a smaller group of people and made it an enjoyable day. I actually remember speaking to every guest at our wedding. We had around 35 guests and it was a perfect day. My hubby is from England and I am from Canada so it made sense to us to get married at Disney. This way both our families had to travel and they all got a vacation out of it. We had no trouble staying within budget. Diane our wedding planner always suggested options that would help with our budget.
