Was given Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac for Christmas! Have ????s

I have a Macbook and now PS Elements 8. Will I be able to do the filled letters? Can anyone give me a shove (push is too gentle) in the right direction to learn how to do the filled letters? I just bought a tutorial book on the program, but I figure it will take me all year to read it. I saw the info about doing the filled letters with Word, but I don't have that. TIA!

I use PSE for Mac and I have been using "Photoshop Elements 8 for Dummies". It is easy to look things up and the instructions are pretty simple.

I called B & N the day after Christmas to see if they had PSE 8 for Dummies, and they said that they didn't sell it. Guess I will be perusing their website and Borders for that book. Thanks for mentioning it because I wouldn't have known that it existed, otherwise!

Thanks for the info about that book - I have had the program since Christmas 2008 and really have not been able to figure it out - I am definitely going to look for the book!
