I was just at The Disney Store getting some Disney $'s for my next trip (which isn't until Nov.). The woman in front of me purchased $800 in Disney $'s. She was so excited about getting them that I just had to ask if she was going to Disney. She said they are leaving tomorrow! :D

She also bought her DD some bathing suits & pj's that she was going to use as souvenirs. This lady was so excited she could hardly control herself. It was so cute!!!

Me - I was just a touch jealous because I was wishing that I was the one leaving tomorrow!!!

I know what you mean. But hey, at least we have trips planned this year. I'd be really jealous of her if I weren't going in the near future.:D

Sometimes I think the best part of the vacation are the 1 or 2 days before. Being giddy with anticiaption and all!

Hey, I live in FL and STILL cannot get enough of WDW...............It is where EVERYONE turns into a KID again! I can't wait to go in less than 2 weeks!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Everytime I hear someone say they're going soon, I get jealous. I know I'll be there during Thanksgiving, it just seems like it will take forever to get here. My DS looked at the counter and frowned. I guess he feels the same way as me. But I know it'll get here, eventually!!!:hyper:

WOW!! $800 a few years ago I want to purchase DD for my trip and they would only let me purchase them $100 at a time...

I am jealous she could afford $800 disney dollars at one time!;)

Why bother? I buy Disney money with the coins I save and wrap. I would never just charge a slew of dollars, I would just charge a WDW instead. She could lose them!

I thought the same thing! I do buy them sometimes - even $50 - $100 at a time, but that's over the year before we go. The benefit for me is absorbing some of the cost over time -- and having a smaller credit card bill to face and pay as soon as I return. To buy them the day beofre leaving doesn't give the advantage of spreading out the cost -- and you could lose them! I don't carry large amounts of cash anywhere. I'd rather charge it and not worry about losing a few hundred dollars:scared1:

That said, I'm glad the lady was enjoying our herself -- and I'm sure she'll have a great trip. Can't wait til we go!!

I totally get her feeling! There is nothing like it!;)
I too buy the dollars a little at a time. The other thing I do is take my "week's walking around money" and anything left over on Friday goes straight to the WDW fund. That makes me think about what I buy and if I really need it, and it also helps me save little by little. Oh BTW. I just wrapped my coins.... $105.00!! I am so thrilled!!!

I used to have that much fun at TDS. Now I know the best Disney stores are located at WDW:D

I have $400 in Disney Dollars put away for our Dec trip. I wanted to be sure that I had plenty to spend during our shopping spree at DTD. It's a good way to put some extra money aside that you can't really dip into unless you are going to The Disney Store. I save my change and return everyone's returnable cans and bottles and after a few months I usually have enough to get $50 dollars or so. I don't want to plan on using a credit card for a shopping spree and then have to worry about the bill when I get home. Also my DGD will enjoy spending the D$.:wave2:

I buy the DD all year long, keeps my DH from raiding my savings. The real problem is they are so pretty I always want to take them back home with me :D Am I the perfect Disney 'guest' or what?

HaileyB I do the same thing. I have saved up $400 so far. When DH found out he said hey how many do I get? I said "none:teeth: . You've been having a good time with your money". I think he's a little jealous now.

I usually take a mix with us. We carry mostly travelers cheques, a little cash (usually lots of $1's and $5's for tips & such) and Disney dollars. I don't like using CC there. I may just get to happy with it;) . We always bring itin case of an emergency.

I just wish I had a Disney store to buy Disney dollars at. :(

Right now though, I'm working on my deposit so I can book our trip for 2006. When I get $110 saved up, I'm emailing my Dreams Unlimited agent to book the room!! :hyper:

I CAN'T WAIT!!!
