Has anyone applied to disneymooners lately? I just got my application back DENIED. What is that? Why on earth would i be denied? Anyone have any ideas?

omg :(
that's awful. maybe your wedding date is too far away? or MAYBE they think you are the wicked queen in disquise :confused3
This site is loads better anyway.

My guess would be you got denied because you didn't provide enough info. They are very strict about who they let read the board.

Maybe they are only letting the brides having a wedding at DL or WDW in now? :confused3

Yep I was right.....here it is"Due to the popularity of our list, memberships are only open to couples planning or who have had a wedding or vow renewal at the following locations: Walt Disney World, Celebrations, Swan, and Disneyland."

I was denied as well and I am planning a Disney wedding. OUrs is 8 months out. Not really sure what the deal is.

Okay IMO about the Disneymooners. If you have been to Disney and had your site inspection or even a planning session with the Disney FTW people, they specifically say don't even bother with Disneymooners and what not. The Disneymooners apparently take away some of the magic that happens with planning a Disney Wedding. Meaning that if your EM or SM can make some magic happen for you doesn't mean they can do it for everyone. I've even heard some stories that some CM's from FTW get fired because of brides reading certain things that their EM did for them and then demanded that it be done for them too. As we all know, that have been on these boards for a while, we can't DEMAND any additional magic then what we are paying for but Disney is known for adding that magical moment at unexpected times. SO with all this being said, don't feel bad about not being accepted, be thankful and get ready to have one of the most memorable events happen in your life and don't forget to enjoy the ride . . . .

WHat is this DIsneymooners site? Another forum?

thanks everyone. I am having a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding in WDW so that couldn't be the problem. Oh well, i thought i would give it a try.

Have A Disney Day!!!

Um, I can't resist. I just want to add that on the DM board they are very careful *not* to take away the magic. For instance, there is a certain gift that is given to custom couples having a DFTW. On the DM board they are great about not posting it (or removing posts with it) but I have seen it discussed here. Totally ruined that for me.

That's good to hear about DM. Hopefully they have gotten better about it. I was on there before and read somethings that made me make a U turn back to these boards. Grant it sometimes we do see things in both places that may spoil on the fun but I guess atleast you are felt Welcomed here and not denied or anything. Once again IMO :teeth:

There are a ton of rumors from CMs about the Disneymooners, for sure. That Disney doesn't like about the DMers is exactly what you pointed out -- someone would say they were "grandfathered" into an old price and another bride would expect the same thing. Or like me - I was able to add tuxedo strawberries to our dessert party menu instead of lemon bars and pay just a very small amount more and then other brides wanted the same thing. The problem is two-fold -- we brides didn't mean harm but were causing other brides to think they weren't getting treated the same AND the fact that Disney doesn't have anything straight. There is no consistency -- I have already seen that here with the Illuminations pricing vent. That is going to happen no matter what board you are on -- Disboards, DMers, or any other. It is because Disney doesn't have any consistency on what they are offering and change their prices more often than most people change their clothes. Trust me on this -- I didn't even know about this board when I was planning my wedding for more than a year (married May 8, 2003) and if it weren't for the DMers, my wedding day wouldn't have nearly as magical. The wedding planners at Disney are wonderful, but they don't have time to tell you every single little detail that you can get from "talking" to a bunch of other brides, past and current. That is what is so great about these types of boards - use them for what they are worth -- gain knowledge and pass it on.

Great points!! I'm happy that the DMer's assisted you on making your day truly magical. And that's the point of all this, for everyone to have a TRULY MAGICAL DAY. I'm sorry but the comment on the wedding planners not being able to tell you every single detail . . . umm made me kind of laugh. For the amount of money and all the time that we put into planning our Fairytale Weddings, I would hope you would step up and say something to whom ever if you ever had any questions or thoughts of uncertainty instead of going to some discussion boards for confirmation. I love these boards for support and all the great ideas of all these talented people. As I've said before, the best confirmation on questions, prices, new policies and what not is best answered by the people we are paying (Disney) Oh and I think the price changes for certain things is called inflation.

In the end, all I wish and hope for is for everyone on here to have a wonderful and amazing fairytale wedding.

I hope everyone has a magical day!!

So just to sum up then:

Disneymooners is another Disney Weddings forum (specifically for Weddings and VR's at WDW and DL) but it is a "private" forum and any information that is shared there remains confidential hence there is a strict screening policy in order to become a member some brides there do feel more comfortable sharing there than they do here and that is entirely their perogative. It would be hard for one to judge the Disneymooners forum if they are not a current member IMHO

The DIS is a Disney Weddings & Honeymooners forum - by posting information here one must realise that their posts can be seen by everyone including Cast Members who are working for Disney Fairytale Weddings.

Bottom line Disney is Disney - when you call up and ask for a room they'll sell you a room at a rack rate but IMO they won't offer to tell you of the current discounts unless you ask them. Same for the Fairytale Weddings Department, of course they'll offer you as much information as they truly believe that you'll need to make your wedding the Fairytale Wedding it will be or was, without a doubt. However sometimes Disney Brides may want something extra or may wish to know if something else can be done to put the bride's own creative spin on things so yeah you just have to ask, they can either say yes or no.

As a member of the DIS it's very easy when planning a Disney wedding to see that another DIS member bride is having this or that for her wedding and go back to her EM/SM/WC and start demanding the same that's human nature. However I am in contact with the Fairytale Weddings Department and I have never heard of any DFTW employee being fired for not giving into these demands, there are always two sides to every story.

At the end of the day though my opinion is that no-one needs to be a member of any forum in order to have that Truly Magical Day I've met many a past Disney Bride who weren't members of the DIS or the Disneymooners and their wedding was wonderful just the same, what they didn't know, didn't hurth them.

Personally I love both the DIS and Disneymooners for different reasons but mainly because I have made long term friendships from both forums and that can't be a bad thing :grouphug:

Looks like I'm going to be denied access as well. I received an email today asking why I wanted to join. My wedding was on August 20th and, even though they say Disneymooners is for those planning OR who have had a Disney wedding, they have asked why I want to join when Disneymooners is for those planning a wedding!

Andy

I had no problem joining the Disneymooners. It took just a day from the
time I requested membership to when I was accepted. I joined a couple of weeks ago. I made sure that all the questions were answered. I'm having a intimate wedding in August 2006, I know that in order to join you have to have your wedding booked because they ask for you SM or EM.
