...in their turn out this year? We only got about 15-20 kids, and at least 7 of those were I think High Schoolers (but well dressed and deserving of treats! :D )

I was hoping for a larger turnout. :( I love dressing up to hand out candy, and dressing up to sit there and wait for the doorbell to ring but not have it ring just isn't quite as fun. :(

i was at work, so was dh, so all was dark at our house, unless simba was giving out treats.

That's the last one of the night catsrule I promise! :teeth:

Yes-we live in a university town, very few kids, but still, it was even emptier than I thought it would've been.

We had more than last year, but since this is a fairly new neighborhood, it's because more people live here now;)

Actually, I had a blast this year. Since we all T-O-T together, I decided to take our huge bowl around the neighborhood with us. It was so much fun! We were giving candy to all the kids we saw as well as some of the grown-ups. My boys really enjoyed it. DS #2 would grab a handful of our candy and give it to a lone adult saying," It's a tradition!" LOL! It is now!

After we got home we only got T-o-T twice. I'm so glad we walked the neighborhood with our candy! :D

That is an excellent idea!! Gotta remember that for next year!! Thanks!! :)

Our turnout also seemed very light this year.

Not here. We normally only get about 10 groups of kids, but this year we were swamped. DH said he just camped out in the hallway because every time he shut the door and went back into the living room, they were ringing the doorbell again.

I think the reason everyone came out in droves was because the snipers were caught. Don't forget, our kids in this area were on lockdown for 3 weeks. I think they were so happy to be outside, even thought it was freezing out! My kids and I combed the entire neighborhood, it was a lot of fun! :)

That is a downside when you live in a rual area. Our first year in this house we didn't have a single trick or treater and so our dd got our huge bowl of candy. Only two children live on our street and they moved here in the past year, otherwise it's older teens/adults only.

we only got abou a dozen kids -one group came twice, but that was okay because they were former kindergarteners of mine:)

We had 130 kids come by, which is a little bit more than last year.

We live in the woods at the end of a 350 foot driveway. We have never had a trick or treater here! Not even when our kids were that age.

Our turnout was lower this year. I was just happy that it wasn't freezing, it was cold but we were still able to sit outside to hand out the candy. Around 7:15 the blanket came out.

disapointing too. This was our first Halloween where we live in a house. We used to live in a Condo with no TOT's. But we were looking foward to them this year. And we only got a few. Lots of Candy left over!

We got a much lower turn out than in years past. Everyone we talked to remarked on it. By the end of the night I was giving out big handfuls of candy because I didnt want to get stuck with ours on top of what the kids brought home. My kids didnt even do a lot of trick or treating and they still came home with a ton. I think everyone else was doing the same thing LOL.

I worked and didn't get hom till after 7, my bell never rang. I bought a little candy now I get to eat it all, OH BROTHER, there goes the wieght thing again. :D

Yes, I was very disapppointed as well. I love Halloween and always decorate the house and get plenty of candy. We only had about 30 kids this year, usually we have at least 2X that. My kids are older, so I was really looking forward to seeing all the little ones. Everyone was talking about how this year was much lighter that others. Don't know why. It seems to me that parents aren't taking kids too much beyond their houses. Oh Well! My husbands's students will be happy today, I gave him a big bag of candy for them!!!

We had a very low turnout here. I think we maybe had 25 kids or so and about 15 of those all came to the door at once.

This was our first year in our house and I was hoping for a bigger turnout.

Definitely less TOT's this year. Around 100 last year with 50 this year. The kids that showed up the last half hour I was able to give more candy to. We love seeing the little ones in their costumes, and even the big kids were polite that showed up.:D

Nope, I was thrilled! ;) This was our 4th Halloween in this house. For the first time we actually got trick or treaters. 4 of them!!!!! I was so excited!!!!!!
My neighbor said he got 9 so we may have gotten more when we werent here, although I didnt notice a big dent in the bowl of candy I left out.
