We were strolling around WS on Sunday, 9/18, when there was an almighty BOOM. We looked over to the lagoon and saw a large piece of what looked like metal go flying up in the air. It must have been something to do with preparations for the fireworks. Did anyone else hear/see that and know what happened?

we were there, and that was apparently the Island float they use for the night show exploding. It holds something like 150,000 gallons of fuel and the fireworks and accidentally blew up. It was on the news briefly, then disappeared. Funny, a couple nights before, we were there and the show was delayed for technical difficulties and when they had the show, it did not include the fire from the island. I wondered if there was a connection.

Thanks! The news article does say that there were no reports of injuries at the time. I hope that's the case. I have to think someone's eardrums burst though!
