That man is sick, sick, sick. I hope he enjoys his own hell in prison...and beyond.

I heard he has spent over $10,000 in phone cards so he could stay in touch with his *people* and keep sending orders. I wonder if that will continue, or if he will give up being the "prophet" and someone else will get to slide into that position? Can you imagine being 12 years old and married off to some 60-70 year old man? Uuugh....that makes my skin crawl.

IIRC, part of being in prison is limited access to communication. Hopefully after his sentencing his contact with his 'followers' will be limited.

My concern is what will happen to his 'wives'. I fear they will be redistributed to other males in the community.

He got exactly what he deserved. Death would have been too easy for him. I predict he will have a very uncomfortable experience in prison. They will almost surely have to put him in isolation for his own protection. That might sound like a breeze, but I'm sure that after a couple weeks of no contact with other humans he will be suffering mightily.

What gets me is how much money will be spent to keep him safer than the girls he raped & married.

Just put him within the prison community and let them have at him. Why should he be more protected than the girls he vicimized?

That would have just made him a martyr. That has an energy that is unending over time and usually gains power as the memory of the martyr gets glorified. Hopefully, Jeffs influence will decay over time and along with it hold over his people. He'll just become some dottering old man in prison.

I just checked the Tex. Dept. of Corrections, and it seems that state prisons have much stricter rules than the ones he's been dealing with at a county jail. Inmates in state prisons are not allowed to have phone cards. Every call they make must be collect (operator-assisted, so no memorizing the phone card PIN that someone sends to him coded in a letter, either.) They are also limited in terms of how many calls they can make per month, and how many minutes each call lasts, and they cannot receive calls at all; only call out.

Word is that his brother Lyle is the heir apparent, and one of his OTHER brothers (who got kicked out of the community) is suing Lyle for custody of his young teen daughters -- he is afraid that Lyle will marry them off ASAP once he takes charge. (There have apparently been no weddings since Jeffs was caught this last time, because only the Prophet can perform them. Obviously, if Warren is Propher for life, then there is about to be a divine revelation that will change that rule, allowing someone else to perform weddings.)

So he could conceivably be let out of prison at 90 as a dottering old man. I wonder if his FLDS community would re-embrace him, or that hopefully, they will have moved on. I bet even the brother wouldn't want to give up the power he's had in the time since to the "returning prophet."

I am glad he got life and I hope they put him in the general population and NOT in administrative segregation. He needs to be out there with all the big bad butch child molester haters. He needs to have a lifetime of being someone's girlfriend.

Aw, Mr Jeffs! So you were put in a situation where you were unable to protect yourself, and were turned into someone's plaything against your consent? And maybe even handed off to someone else, as if you were a possession and not a human being? Isn't that just too bad! Who would do such a thing?

High profile inmates aren't typically put with the mainstream prisoners. Jeffrey Dahmer was killed in jail by other inmates. I assume the same would happen with this perv. I wish more could be done to protect the children. It seems like these things are allowed to continue and outsiders just turn a blind eye. I'm glad this case turned out to be justice well served.

'Specially since it seems he was given LIFE rather than NATURAL LIFE or LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE. At 55 years old -- especially with time off for good behavior, which everyone seems to get -- he could potentially be a free man, albeit an old free man.

Wouldn't it just be poetic justice if some big dude made him a "prison wife"?
