Warning to those who applied for DV under $50 reward code

Just to let those of you know who applied (like me) under code 6Y7911 (which was a $50 reward code) for the Disney Visa that you might have to fight for your reward $$$. I applied for the card, was approved, have used it and now Bank One is telling me that I applied under a $25 offer. What is frustrating is that I asked twice -- once upon application and once after receiving that card to make certain that I was getting in under the $50 offer. Both people I spoke to said yes. Now they're telling me I'm only getting $25. Makes me so mad, especailly as I resisted applying all this time and finally "fell for" the $50 as it would be useful on our upcoming cruise. There's a difference between $25 and $50 and I feel like I've been suckered.

What makes me even more angry is the last email I got from them said that, not only was I not getting the $50, that I should apply for another card (that I have no use for) in order to get the $50. Sounds to me like someone is trying to rip me off. Yet when I called customer service, she said that marketing was pulling my application to see what offer I applied under. Yet the email just says "Nope, sorrry, not getting it no way no how". Two different stories at work here. You can bet that I'm going to fight like crazy for this $50 and then probably cancel the card after we return from our cruise. Sorry for the vent, but I'm steamed.

Thank you for this warning. I got my card over a month ago and I've used it 3 times but still no reward dollars.

I hope I don't have this problem too.:(

I just bumped up the original thread hoping to get some experiences from other who applied with that offer.

Thanks for the warning.

I wonder, do you get the reward dollar right after first purchase OR after the first billing cycle?

I was told it should appear on my next statement (which will be my second statement since getting the card). So it does take awhile.

Disneefun, I'm sorry your having trouble getting your $50 rewards. Did you call the # in the original OP or use the code? I think the number you call makes a difference in what reward you get.

I know the $50 rewards was the incentive for me to apply for the card and I hope you're able to get it straightened out.

Beattyfamily, I replied to you in the other thread, but my rewards didn't show up until I got my first statement. HTH

Actually, I applied online and entered the code in the blank where you were supposed to enter the special code. This was why I called right after I applied -- to make certain that the code was received and would be processed correctly and I was told it would be.

I applied under the $25 offer, but it DID take a long time to get the rewards posted....like 2 months!! I was just about to call (again) and they finally showed up!!

I called the number the OP had listed on the original thread, I didn't have to give the code. She told me it was definitely the
$ 50 rewards.

I've already received my first statement, and it didn't show up there. I'm hoping for the second.

The offer says to allow 4-6 weeks after the first purchase for the rewards to be applied to your account. I'll cross my fingers everything works out for those of you who are worried. It will probably be on your 2nd statement.

I only applyed when the 25.00 was being offered and I had to e-mail bankone that they were not on my 1st statement and yes I had used the card. The rewards showed up within one week of e-mail. KELLY

i also applied under the $25 reward and have not seen my reward dollars yet and when i called i was told 8 to 10 weeks for the $25 for signing up, but all other reward dollars are available (minimum of $20 to order card) :(

I'm the OP of the other thread. I called and didn't have to give a code. I just called the number and the lady offered me the $50 Disney reward dollars. I got my Disney Reward points about 6 weeks after I applied ( which was a few weeks ago). I didn't even send in my first payment before it had posted. Hope you all get this straightened out. I will post on the original thread also. there is a new friends and family pool offer out now that is supposedly offering the $50 Disney reward dollars.

We also had no problem...my hubby called in and applied with the code, we used the card immediately after receiving it and received the $50 bonus on our first statement. I always check our statements on-line with Bank One and the bonus reward dollars are there.

I'm the OP and I just thought I'd post an update of how I'm doing in getting my $50. Answer: Not very well, but my head is really getting bruised from banging it against the wall. I logged into my acct. today and I see that $25 has been posted, but not $50. So Bank One is still saying I only get $25. I have yet to get an explanation as to why I'm not getting the $50, despite asking many people. However, I am "forbidden" (they really did use that word ) from contacting the Marketing Department who is supposedly who pulled my app. and decided I only get $25. The people at customer support have no idea why I'm not getting it, only that I'm not. But I'm forbidden from contacting the one dept. that might know. Every CSR rep I've talked to is adamant that they will not give me marketing's phone number.

So today a round of "meanie mail" went out to Bank One's customer support and Corporate office detailing the mess. I told the corporate office what happened and suggested that they seriously need to review their support policies. If their idea of support is to not let you talk to the one group that might help (and their only solution is that I apply for another card under a $50 offer to get the bonus) then I don't know how they survive. I told them that I want the $50 I was promised. At the very least, I want someone to call me personally and give me a detailed explanation as to why I'm being denied the offer that I applied for. All I get now is "You're getting $25, not $50, with no explanation." $25 is nice, but it isn't what I applied for. Grrrrr. I'll let you know if I hear anything more.

i would say if your not getting what they said you would then cancel the card.

Everytime you apply for a credit card it lowers your credit number (know there is a fancier name but can't think of it right now!). So I think it is wrong for them to ask you to apply again. They canceled us as soon as my husband was called up to serve our country (reservist). They new because of the soldier sailor act that applies to all your creditors when you are deployed. I did not care that they canceled. We had nothing on it. But I was not impressed.

Disneefun, have you tried asking to talk to someone with Disney when you call Bank One? I've had to do this in the past and they seem to be very helpful. Worth a try, anyway. :teeth: Good luck!

That's the plan because I don't trust them anymore (after only one month), but right now it's the principle of the thing. They advertised one thing and gave me something else. And I want to know why, especially since I know others have had no problem.

Make sure not to cancel before you get and use those Diney Reward dollars. If they're not going to at least have good customer service use those reward dollars before cancelling. I read somewhere that they're being bought out by someone so they're not Bank One anymore. I know when I go to the website it's cardmember services. I don't know what that bank is. I know it's the same one that gives out the United Visa card.

Believe me, I plan to cash out whatever $$$ I get, be it $25 or $50. I'm not going through this aggravation not to spend the rewards before I dump the card.

And Bank One was "acquired" by JPMorgan Chase. I found that out today while looking for people to send "meanie mail" to. Sometime in 2005 or 2006, all Bank One cards will be converted to Chase cards, as Chase will be taking over credit card duty. So I guess it'll be the Chase Disney Visa.
