Ask your doctor to check your progesterone levels when you go to your appt. I had spotting/bleeding during two pregnancies at around 7 weeks, which unfortunately ended in miscarriagesWhen I was trying to get pregnant again, my doctor gave me a progesterone supplement, and the next pregnancy was normal, with no bleeding. In the case of low progesterone, there is nothing necessarily wrong with the embryo, it's just that your body isn't producing the proper hormone levels to maintain the pregnancy. If this is the case with you, a supplement may be able to prevent a miscarriage.
You'll be in my thoughts. I know how scary this time can be.
I also did a supplement after miscarrying. During the next pregnancy I had spotting and bleeding starting at 5 weeks (according to the ultrasound - I think I was closer to 8) and going until the 6th month. I was prescribed progesterone right away. DD is almost 4 months old.
FWIW, during one of my miscarriages I had no bleeding or spotting at all. The others had brown spotting for about a week. None had heavy period like bleeding.
