Warning, Side Stage!

I'm in the process of buying some concert tickets and this warning comes up for a certain section. I understand that our seats would be to the side of the stage, but is this warning trying to tell me that my line of vision will/might be obstructed? Does anyone have any experience with this? This is the closest we can get to the stage, but I don't want to pay for these tickets if I won't be able to see much...

Go to the venue's website - many of them have really good maps showing the view from different seats.

Can you look up the venue and see where exactly the tickets are? I know when I buy tickets for things, a 'map' of the theater usually shows up. I would venture a guess that your view will be obscured a bit.

I have bought side stage for Garth Brooks before and they ended up being very good. Sometimes it means you will be towards the back of the stage and won't have a full frontal vision.

I have looked at the seating chart, and all I can tell is that yes, it's on the side of the stage, which of course I knew it would be. I guess it just depends on how they set up the stage that night, if they pile their equipment up on the side then I don't think I'll be able to see a thing...

I guess I was just looking for some reassurance that they wouldn't be selling these tickets if your view was going to be completely blocked. Anyway, thanks for your quick responses!

If it's an obstructed view, it will usually say "obstructed view." Also, are they cheaper? If they are that close to the stage AND a lower price level, I would worry.

Does your performer move around? I ask because I was to the side of the stage for Elton John once and there was one little pole that ran right through his face from my seat and my seat only! Since he doesn't move from the piano during the songs, I watched Elton's body and...a pole. So this is something to think about!

We love side stage! I suppose it depends on the venue, but we've been to several across the country, and consistently prefer side stage. Floor seats, invariably someone in the front row stands up, leading to everyone else standing to see around that person--I'd rather not pay for a seat if I *have* to stand the entire time. IME, side stage = super close, but in tiered seating. If somebody stands up, it doesn't really block anyone else's view. So you can sit or stand at your leisure, and see the performer well either way. JMHO.

I have had side stage tickets a few times, and I thought the view was fine. I liked that I was so close to the stage, and the performers came to the sides many times.

I did miss being able to see the action out front, especially when the performer had a stage that jutted out into the front section.

(And I have to admit, the concerts where we had side stage tickets were the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus.
