Warning: Le Cellier Menu Has Changed!

Restaurants at Disney change their menus a *lot*, especially if a new chef comes in. I wouldn't be surprised, especially for those of you with reservations within the next few weeks, if you could get your steak prepared the old way if you ask real sweet.

As for the price increase... with the huge drought in the SE this summer/fall, the price of grain has skyrocketed, causing the price of beef to go up quite a bit, too. I'm surprised steak in other WDW restaurants hasn't increased as well.

We did ask and we were told that they have no bbq sauce in the kitchen and will not make it.
I know everyone keeps talking about the changing of menu's but we have been going there the last 6 years and it has been on the menu.

This is so disappointing! The only reason we were going there for lunch in May was for the BBQ Filet and the Chocolate Moose dessert. Guess there's no reason for us to go now, as there's nothing else on the menu I'd want. The strip steak could be good, but no way can I justify $30 for one entree.

Really disappointed by this. :sad2:

I've never eaten at Le Cellier and wasn't sure if I ever would. The food looks good but there are lots of places in Dallas where my SIL & BIL live that serve really great steaks and we visit them pretty often.

But, if I were to eat at Le Cellier it would've been the filet with Maple BBQ. Hopefully if people start canceling their ressies and say that they're canceling them because of the menu change maybe they'll put the filet back on the menu. Now what I would really like to see is salmon with maple BBQ sauce. I would be there tomorrow as I love salmon. That being said, the salmon currently on their menu just doesn't appeal to me. I noticed they also removed the shrimp and scallops from the menu. This too looked very yummy.

I really hope it is still just as good. I was having trouble selling my parents on Le Cellier before, and now they are even more hesitant :headache:

Ok this sucks I have 2 ressies for 4/29 and 5/7. I told dh I was going to cancel them. I loved their filet with the mashed potatoes and so did dd. She allergic to gluten and probably won't be able to eat most of the crap on the menu now.

It looks like the lemon mustard chicken dish is served with cream cheese mashed potatoes so, yes, you should be able to substitute. (Thanks MickeyNicki :thumbsup2 )

I will say I no longer feel so bad about not securing a dinner reservation 180 days out given the menu changes...

Thanks !! I see it now  We usually have lunch at Le Cellier so that was the menu I was looking at. Our lunch ADR is for 2pm. What are the chances that those cream cheese mashed potatoes served at dinner(starts at 4pm) will be ready ??:rolleyes2 I think it is BACK to the MENUS for me!! Joan

We did ask and we were told that they have no bbq sauce in the kitchen and will not make it.

Disappointing! Hopefully they should still be able to just prepare a plain filet and serve with the mashed potatoes - for those of us who would like a filet, but don't like mushrooms.

Aww come on, everyone! I say have a little faith in your favorite restaurant & give the new menu a shot! I know everyone has their favorite meals, but you never would have fallen in love with your favs if you hadn't given them a try in the first place, right? :confused3

It's not like they got rid of the steak all together & that's what I hear people raving about. and I still see mashed potatoes on the menu-WDW always lets you make reasonable changes, like subbing one side for another.

I say keep your ressies and give it a shot! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I was able to substitute the cream cheese mashed potates for the risotto twice. Our most recent visit was in March and I was able to do it then. The chocolate mousse was still on the childrens menu at that time.

Is the Beef and Barley Soup still on the menu? I didn't see it listed, but couldn't remember if it was ever listed outside. That soup was hands down the best soup I have ever tasted in my life. And I've had lots of soups in my day!

I could take or leave the glazes on the steaks, but if the Beef/Barley soup is gone I might just cry.

I am so bummed:sad1:! The maple bbq filet is mine and my brothers favorite. Neither of us are tough enough to eat mushrooms. That is a real downer! I am going to have to break the bad news to the kiddo tomorrow. We may have to change our ADR:scared1: . Boo!

Like everyone, "that figures that i finally get a reservation..."

Im going to hold on to the ADR because we're on the DDP so the price doesnt really effect me...still holding out hope for the filet though! I think they might bring it back because there is such an outrage over it!

Hey, if they can bring back figment---they can bring back a steak.

Wow. :rolleyes1 Well, we couldn't get a reservation last year in May. We have a reservation for lunch in September, and I'm very happy. The menu looks wonderful -- will probably order the mushroom filet and the maple creme brulee sounds fabulous. :goodvibes

I am going to keep my sept/oct ressies for now, and hope for seasonal changes again, if not then I will cancel them, none of the mains appeal to me at all, and I truly do not fancy having an appetiser and dessert at LC to then hunt out something later on from somewhere else.

I have a ADR for Thursday, I think I will still go.
Is the NY Strip new? I don't remember it from when we went in September.
I had the BBQ filet last time also, but the Prime Rib and the NY Strip look just as good, so I will give it a try, I hope they still have there fabulous Chocolate martini's for dessert. :lovestruc

I have lost some of my favorite items over the past few years at WDW restaurants, and it is upsetting when that happpens.
This will be my first trip with out the Grilled butter pound cake with carmel pecan sauce and vanilla ice cream from LTT. I do not know how I will make it through the week with out it but I will press on.

Beef and Barley soup is also off the menu.
For those saying give it a try. We did! I had the mushroom filet. I didn't feel it was anything special is all. I can get something like that back home. The maple bbq was unique and that is why we looked forward to it on every visit.

The maple creme brulee was taken off the menu as of December when we were there.

But, I see from the picture in an earlier thread that it appears to be back on the menu. That would be sweet. Our server said a lot of people were asking for it while it was off the menu.

We've had the BBQ filet for lunch & dinner on previous trips, and loved it. I :scared: hate mushrooms, but am a very adventurous eater, so I tried it. The mushrooms were really small pieces, and didn't gross me out because I couldn't really taste them. The dish was salty, though. I see that this filet plus a strip steak are still on the lunch menu, plus the mussel appetizer YUMMM. We'll definetly keep our lunch ADR for Sept. What is a strip steak like? Which is a better cut/taste?
