Some of you would probably just die if I told you how much I spent on my ENTIRE wedding. WTH, I will tell you, LOL. My wedding dress was $100 at a bridal outlet. It was beautiful, BTW, beaded and all that. We got married at a chapel and the cost was $350, which included the minister, the flowers and a video. We had about 50 people there. My pictures were $150. We paid to get all the negatives and then made our own prints. Our rehearsal dinner was at a pizza buffet, $100 for the 10 people who attended(parents, maid of honor, best man, siblings). Our reception was held at a community center in one of their banquet rooms. I think the rental fee was $100 and my mom made everything except the cake. I believe it was $120. Honeymoon was 2 nights at an oceanfront hotel in Myrtle Beach gifted to us by a friend. So, less than $1000 when it was all said and done. I did not register and people gave me what they wanted whether it was from Walmart or Belk. Most gave money which was really helpful.
Funny thing is, I was just as married as someone who spent $20,000. I know couples who spent that much and are just as divorced as I am
My first wedding cost $50 for the dress (which functioned as a work outfit after) and the cost for the license and JP, maybe another $50?
My 2nd wedding, I borrowed a tea dress from a friend; found my wedding ring in an antique shop ($50? maybe; it wasn't traditional, it was sterling silver with tiny roses engraved on it); paid for DH's band $75? at the jeweler (very thin gold band); flowers were $15, made the cake myself (with drinks...maybe $25); and the license/chapel/officient ($150ish). Friend took a few photos (so $10 to develop the film?). Rental car for a week; honeymoon was 3 nights in Reno ( 2 nights free from a golf tournament + issues that caused them to comp the last night) and 2 nights in Wendover; food/gambling/shopping...and I came home with $1000 after paying for all that...I hit big on the Monopoly penny slot machine a few times...
No registry for either wedding.
