Warning !! Fast Passes have a time lock now

That would mean everything is as it was! No changes!
Can anyone confirm what Maureen said??

Hi,

We just got back yesterday. I didn't know anything about this thread or I'd have tested it more fully for everyone - but I can confirm we did hold fastpasses for 2 different attractions. When the park opened we got a fastpass for Big Thunder Mountain which asked us to return 11-11.30, then we went to Buzz and got fastpasses for that for 11.10-11.40. So it'd seem you can still hold multiple FPs. :thumbsup2

I can't help a huge amount as we never tried to get a 2nd FP while our first hadn't yet reached its time.

I can say they weren't to strict about sticking to the time on the ticket as twice we were there about 5min early and they said it was no prob. Also on the last day we had Peter Pan FP's for 4.50 to 5.20 but wanted to leave for Eurostar around then so we went straight after the parade at 4.15 and it was no prob to use them early.

They were great at cutting out Q times :thumbsup2

Hi Raci,

On our last trips they were very strict! You had to wait until your time! We once had FP for BTM for 5:30-6:00 and we were there at 5:28 and we had to wait two more minutes!

Sounds like we were very lucky then :rolleyes1 being allowed to sneak through early.
Was it v busy when you were there? Maybe thats why they were more strict :confused3

We were 5 minutes early for 1 of our FP to Buzz and they let us through without looking at the time on the ticket. :rolleyes1

I must have been unlucky. On Big Thunder Mountain we got there 10 mins early and were told to wait until 11.35 am, which was no problem. The same with Buzz Lightyear, we arrived 5 mins early and the CM looked at her watch but it was bang on time and we were allowed to go in. I suppose it depends on the CM who is on at the time really. We must have just touched unlucky but we could not go through until our time was on the ticket.

Good for you as time is crucial when there is so much to see and do. Excellent!!!!

Well, it may not matter. According to another forum, the changes will not occur until APRIL 1. Normally, that's a suspicious date, but in this case....

A bientot.

I read that too and also that on the day in question that spawned this particular story - they were testing the water and you could indeed only hold 1 FP at a time on that 1 day only.
We'll just have to wait and see.:confused3

OK, can anyone tell us who went after 1.April if the system has changed? :confused3

Yes it has! We're just back and they have indeed changed the fastpass tickets. You can now only hold one at a time - not one for each ride and it was awful! We got there on Monday lunchtime and it was heaving! We immediately got a Buzz fastpass for around 5.00 but when we tried to get one for (I think) Peter Pan it told us we couldn't until the start time of our Buzz one. This meant that we had to join long queues for anything else that afternoon and quite ruined our first day - I think we managed to go on only 3 things! So you have to be very careful which fastpass you get and get one that is early in the day to enable you to get another one earlyish in the day and so on - which all requires far too much thinking for my liking!

We were all pretty fed up on that day and decided to go to Disney Village for a drink as respite and luckily were able to book Cafe Mickey for early evening. We'd never been before but it certainly put a smile back on our faces!

The other days weren't so bad but it certainly makes life far more difficult than it was last year and I think we went on far fewer rides than we managed last year. I hope they change back to the old system soon!

I'm following Beerqueen around these boards today. :)

I was there the same days - Mon 2nd to Wed 4th. Yes, you can only have 1FP at a time. So it limits you to about 2 FP rides per day. Each morning we chose a FP ride to get first thing, then after that ride (about 11am to noon) we would get another FP for a ride for later that afternoon.
So I recommend getting to park when it opens each day.

Yes, it kinds sucks ...

That's not very good news, on our recent trip we used FP's for Big Thunder Mountain and Buzz Lightyear only but they were invaluable.
:sad2:

That is a shame. The fastpass system worked well in DLP and I cant see why they have changed it.

Thanks for the update :thumbsup2
At least we all know now that you can only hold one FP at a time.

BTW on Tuesday BTM was delayed opening and so there was a build up of people both queuing for the ride and for fastpasses. To get people through quicker there was a staff member at the machine just printing them off and handing them out if you showed your admission ticket. This meant that your ticket didn't go into the machine so you could then get another fast pass at another ride. We then found the same happening at Peter Pan (but unfortunately she stopped just as we got there). So it's worth keeping an eye on this and trying to get a staff member to hand you a pass.

But one adventage of the new system is that you will be able to get a FP after lunch. With the old system all FPs for all rides were gone on bussy days at 1pm and on not so bussy days at 3pm. Now I think you can have the chance to get a FP even at 3pm on bussy days.

But I have to sign the posts from the other DISers: The new system sucks. But I don't think that they will chance it back, as all Disney parks have the same system now.

But one more questions: What if I have a FP for BTM for 1-1:30pm can I get a FP for a Studio ride earlier? :confused3

There are no FPs for Studio rides - I think they did have them at one time but scrapped them cos there was no real need.
