Thanks everyone. My point about getting test done is not by any means saying EMS didn't do their job. Wasn't there, don't know. It is more a caution to not take a diagnosis at face value with something like this. Better safe than sorry.
I'm not criticizing Disney, but there are some very smooth surfaces there that are more slippery than others when wet. I know this because I am a huge Crocs fan and usually won't wear them at Disney if I know its going to rain. This of course, is true in locations other than Disney as well - painted surfaces especially.

I second this. I love Crocs but they are super dangerous in the rain.
Update-he is doing better than the docs expected. They kept him in ICU for an extra day. He is talking and walking a little. The doc told his parents he shouldn't be alive, they would have expected him to only last about four hours after such an injury. The said he he is a miracle boy. He has not cried, complained or fussed once. Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers.
