Hello! I've been enjoying this DisBoard for almost 2 months now and never went far enough down the page to see that there is a special forum for Canadians! Just thought I would introduce myself and say hello!

My name is Bonnie and I live in Guelph, ON. We just returned from WDW last Sunday and had a wonderful trip. I have learned alot on this board and used many tips when we were away.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and I promise I will now venture further down the page and enjoy all the posts from all of you! :)

Welcome to the Canadian Board, Bonnie! :) We lived in Guelph for a couple of years, decided to move and ended up in Woodstock. DH still works in Guelph and has been travelling back and forth every day for almost 13 years now! We also arrived home on Sunday from WDW, wasn't the weather beautiful last week? We are trying to plan a DIS meet for May, maybe you'd like to join us? :)

Hi Bonnie and a BIG welcome to the Canadian DIS boards!;)

My name is Cindy and I'm from Hamilton.:)

Glad to hear that you had a fantastic trip! Hope to "see" you around here more!

Wow! Got up this morning and couldn't believe all the wonderful replies to my post! You guys know how to make someone welcome! :)

FYI, I have lived in Guelph all my life. I've been married for almost 20 years and have three kids. We are in the middle of renovating the house of our dreams (nightmares on some days!) and all my family lives close by.

We had the best week in Florida last week. The weather was outstanding - we've never had such good weather before. We did 4 days of Disney and 2 beach days - one at Cocoa Beach and the other at Venice Beach. It was worth the drive there - it is a family favourite and was for me the best day of the vacation.

Have a great day guys! Talk to you soon! :)

Bonnie

Hello from Chatham, Ontario, Bonnie. My name is Peggy and I am the moderator of this board. I am also a travel agent and have lived in Chatham most of my life. I hope you enjoy your time here on the Canadian board.:)

Welcome home, Bonnie.

Oops, wrong board, sorry. :p

There's a bunch of us from London who frequent this board as well. Keep your eyes peeled for the next DISMeet which Sandra is trying to coordinate for later this spring. I guess there have been 3 or 4 of them over the past couple of years, although we've only been able to make the first one because of hockey or soccer conflicts.

Hey, Pooh, we were down your way on Tuesday - my daughter's team was playing the Chatham team in Dresden. We won. :D

Welcome to the Dis Boards!
My name is Wendy and on here I go by wenabre and I live in Ottawa. I have never been to Guelph but my DD is hoping to go to the University of Guelp in Sept 03. This is a great board with tons of really nice people and I have learned so much and also have made some nice friends, like Photobear Sam and Fiance'. Hope you enjoy it here too...:D

Wow! There sure are alot of you out there! :)

Deb, to answer your questions, it was our first trip to Cocoa Beach. It was supposed to be a trip to Kennedy Space Centre, but at $26US per person, my hubby decided it wasn't that important to see so we just headed to the beach. It is very touristy and the kids were happy to go to the Ron Jon Surf Shop. Go figure!

Venice Beach holds a special place in my heart. For the first time though, we didn't stay overnight there. We just travelled the almost 2 hours there early in the morning and came back to Kissimmee late in the evening. The reason was the high cost of staying there. We have stayed at the Inn at the Beach and at the Best Western. They are both right on the beach and we really enjoy the Best Western. They are the only 2 public motels available at the beach, and they know they've got you by the 'gotchies'. Almost $200/night US! It actually worked out great and we had a wonderful day. The water there is the most incredible blue and the dolphins play in the surf. There weren't as many sharks teeth as in the past, but it's always so much fun to look. We always have dinner at Sharkey's Pier and it was picture perfect with the sunset. I keep telling my hubby that when we retire we're spending alot of time down there!

I would recommend both beaches, but as you can see, Venice is my favourite. It's definitely worth the drive!

Bonnie

Hi Bonnie, thanks for the info,

We need more time and money. lol
