Wanted sci-fi diner but booked 50's primetime

:offtopic:
Above post not quite as I wanted it to appear:ssst:

Although it still says what I wanted to say........

We're doing 50's PTC too, and from reading these posts, sounds like it will be fun! We like the menu choices, but we're aware that it's the atmosphere and interaction with the server that adds to the experience. Looking forward to it!

Me too-just been discussing with ds & dmil
She's ok as long as she's not 'picked on' anymore than anyone else:teeth:

We love both. We are doing 50's in June. When we took my MIL a few years ago she loved the decor. It was very nostalgic for her.

The food is very good. The antics that they go through really depends on your "cousin" or "uncle" or "aunt" who will be your server. I've had servers who were really into it and others who would be better at McDonalds. I've also engaged other "uncles" or such for better interaction. Hopefully you'll love it.

I have been to 50s PT about 10 times. Love it. For our last trip, my husband insisted on trying all new places. I booked Sci-Fi. Other than the unbelievably calorific yummy dessert, there is nothing I would go back for. I'm glad I experienced it, but don't need to go again. Sitting in the dark, eating a turkey sandwich, watching Tom and Jerry cartoons just isn't for me! In addition, I sat in the backseat by myself :( Husband and daughter sat in front. I will definitely book 50's for our next trip.

Moral of the story...you wont be disappointed picking 50's over Sc-Fi IMO....

I like the moral of your story.

When eating at HS this is the place we always go now. We did Sci-fi once but will not go back again. I thought the food was just ok and overall it was not worth it. The meal of 50's was one of the best we had on our trip. The server was ok our last trip but the time before that the lady server we had was great. She really got into it and made the experience well worth it.

We've eaten at both 50's and Sci-Fi and neither made it to our must do every trip list. Neither of them are awful but they just didn't wow our family. Of the two we would do Sci-Fi again before 50's. Our boys really enjoyed sitting in the car and watching the movie clips.

50's is a must-do for me and Mrs. Homie, every trip, every time. Sometimes twice or more!

I've only been inside SciFi long enough to have a milkshake, but I hear the food is terrible.

I don't think you can go wrong with either place. I prefer Sci-Fi just because of the uniqueness of the whole thing, but 50s Prime time is pretty cool as well, especially if you get a waiter who likes to play along. Enjoy.
