wanted: review on Home Suite Home..

The old Nikki Bird Hotel. Want recent reviews please. Maybe the last few months. I got a great rate for a kid suite of $149 for a week for our inlaws who decided to join us (we'll be a tad bit down the road at the BW Lakeside).

I searched for reviews on this board but could only find ones from the time the change went into effect.

Opinions/thoughts/reviews please.

I have not stayed there recently, but I did before the changes went into effect. We liked the place back then, though I did get a regular room on priceline for $39..... you may want to look up more recent opinions on tripadvisor.com using nikki bird in their search engine.

You don't say when you are going, but I think if you look into the suites at the Sheraton Vistana (timeshares for rent), you may find some similar rates.

Also, have you stayed at the BW Lakeside before? I have a reservation coming up at the end of Feb. Would like to know what to expect - though I already have some idea.

We arrive on March 11th and check out on the 17th. I found great reviews on BW Lakeside on trip advisor and also from another board. So I am not worried.

I will have my inlaws look into the BW as well and see what they can find.

when it was a holiday inn it was fine.

I don't think when the Holiday inn west (black lake) was a home suite home it got good reviews at all.

the problems - no housekeeping, you had to pay for a trash can, towels, etc. everything was an extra charge.

they now say housekeeping - but before that was a big complaint - because the rooms themselves were pretty dirty.

so I don't know what to say.

try it! then come back and say how wonderful or awfully it was.

I stayed at BW Lakeside this past Oct / Nov. I just loved the place! The pools were sparkling clean, food was good. Rooms clean and quite large. The shuttle service was good and Staff friendly. We were upgraded free of charge to a pool view!

We were going to stay there this coming Christmas too, but got the 40% off room rate at the Disney Value which made it cheaper then BW!
