WANTED! Candid thoughts: US/IOA First Time or Repeat/Finish Disney MGM/MK

With Cat in the Hat supposedly being released in theaters Thanksgiving 2003, I'm sure Seussville will be packed, but hopefully the FOTL access will help out a bit (from what I heard you can't use it for the fishy ride though).

Thanks all!
You can use Express on One Fish Two Fish. You CANNOT use it on anything Grinchmas related, though.

Actually, the most crowded island tends to be Marvel Super Hero Island.
Thanks to Hulk and Spider-Man.

This is an interesting thread particularly since we just came back from our first trip to Universal and my 13th to Disneyworld. I certainly do love Disney but frankly I was a bit disappointed with MGM on this trip. It just didn't feel right to me with the Great Movie Ride closed and the Hunchback gone and Hollywood & Vine (my personal favorite) about to discontinue character meals.

However, I can say without hesitation that my son and I were blown away by the Universal parks. Whereas, Disney is more laid back and lives more in the past with its fairy tales and reliance on Walt's creations, Universal seems to set up current headliners to completely blow away the visitor. Universal definitely doesn't have the Disney magic but has a magic of its very own that can be found nowhere else. At least not in my opinion.

My 10 year is not a thrill-ride enthusiast and neither of us wanted to get wet much so we spent most of our time in Universal. But the theming in IOA is wonderful and Spiderman is arguably the best ride in any theme park. It's hard for me to say which attraction is best in Universal since they each have their "wow" factors. The food was good (except Mel's IMO  ), the employees were very nice and the parks were spotless. All in all, these parks are really super.

Sorry to ramble on but the point is that Disney is great and will continue to be so just because it's Disney but the Universal parks are in their own way every bit as good. So whichever way you go, you can't lose IMO.

Hi Planogirl! Especially because of comments like yours, we now can't wait to go to USF/IOA, and we're excited about Jimmy Neutron, Shrek 4D and Grinchmas since we won't be there until December. Wish we were going now but at least we have something to look forward to all year. Hopefully we will be able to see almost everything in the two days we'll have.

Thanks for the post.

jasper, December is my favorite time to visit! Our last 2 trips were in spring and summer and we all agreed next trip has to be in December!

Planogirl, I agree and well said! :)
