I'm appealing to you, my DISboards friends:

Do you or your company have a membership to Club 33 and would you being gracious enough to secure us a dream reservation there?

I'm traveling from Florida to Disneyland in California from Aug 25th to Sept 3rd 2012, to celebrate my Disney-loving mother's 60th (SIXTY!!!) birthday.

My amazing mother has been going to Disneyland since before I was born. When I was younger, we lived 15 minutes away and Mom and I would often go and spend our mornings there. Over the years we tried to see and experience most everything Disney that we can. One experience that has alluded us is walking through the door of Club 33 and enjoying a meal. It would be amazing to be able to celebrate with her this year at Disneyland's Club 33.

It would be an unforgettable experience and we would be forever grateful for assistance in making it !!

Thank you! Thank you!

Here she is last year's at a DLR Halloween Party with her godson.

And here I am way back when!

Good luck with your dreams. This type of request usually comes up about 3 times a week and a do not remember seeing many come back with a positive answer. Have fun when you get there. Here is an active thread about the same subject if you have not read it..http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2831019

Thanks Jack! I am super excited about this trip! I have never stayed on DLR property before, but thanks to RCI and the timeshare my Mom and I share, we will get to stay at the Villas at the Grand Californian. :yay: Its going to be a wonderful time. My husband and I are flying over from Florida and my Disney loving cousins (including the godson pictured above) are flying down from Washington state to celebrate my mom.

To be able to eat at Club 33 would truly be the icing on an already wonderful trip. :cutie:

We were blessed a few years back by a member and have eaten there twice, one lunch, one dinner. We also love the Villas at the GCH, my wife just does not want to stay anywhere else. I know you will have a wonderful time.

Ok I have to ask how in the world you've managed to use your RCI timeshare to get into the VGC?? I've been trying to figure that out for months and can't! tips would be highly appreciated!

Also, good luck with your request, if I had a membership I'd be happy to help, unfortunately I do not. We do get requests regularly and we see few wishes granted. I myself would love to dine at Club 33, I will continue to hope and pray that my wish will be granted along with yours! :)

Someone told me they are tightening the amount of reservations per year allowed, not sure if this is true or what?!?!?

I know they are tightening the number of free passes that they can get each year. Before, each reservation at club 33 would include a parkhopper for everyone on the reservation. They can still get as many reservations as they want but they are limiting the number of parkhoppers they can get each year.

Hmmmm...I wonder what then...maybe it was her nice way of telling me NO after saying she will book it for us! But then why say we will try again next year! :(

It is true that they have reduced the # of resrevations I think to 50 total and cut back on the tickets that used to go with the reservations(park hoppers.) Please correct me if i am wrong.

Jack

the number of dining reservations are still unlimited, the number of park passes has been set to 50 a year. This is for gold members though. ;)

Members will be allowed 50 comps a year. They can still make reservations, but only 50 guests will have a ticket to the park. They can get discounted tickets though. Not sure on the price for the discounted tickets.

Example: My sponsor can make reservations for my party. But if ANYONE in my party needs a comp pass to get in, it will go against the 50. Or they can just say "You have a reservation, but you need to make sure everyone in your party has park access."

So, no more free passes. You pay the entrance AND the $80 per meal.

ETA: This is for both gold and plat members. Exec or corporate members will have 100 for the corp. Don't expect employers to hand out the free comps.

Well poop for me then...I just don't get why she didn't just say that...I asked her maybe 10 times, really, if you can't do it, please just say so!

Still not unreasonable IMO.

If someone is going out on a limb to offer you a reservation, thats the least you could do.

Last time my wife and I went to Napa, our bill was more than what 80 a person would be.

I think most likely people that know about Club 33, and are getting the privilege of dining in the club thanks to a gracious member would already be in the park for the day, and if not wouldn't have an issue paying for the park access and the meal for a once in a lifetime dining experience.

We have an RCI Points account, so we are unable to wait list. So for many weeks, I was checking RCI multiple times a day. I search for all DVC properties, and I would watch availability fluctuate slightly throughout the course of each day. There would always be a few FL DVC properties available. Then DVC dumped a TON of units in - like 90. And then there was availability at all the DVC resorts except Hawaii. For VGC, there were 2 dates with 2 bedroom units available. But those dates were not far enough in the future for me. So I had to wait until DVC did there next big dump. The next one had three VGC 2 bedroom units in it for the weekend I wanted - and I snagged one!

So the tip is to be on RCI as often as possible. I'd check when I'd get up, when I got to work, mid morning, before lunch, after lunch... you get the idea. The unit I snagged showed up after lunch. ;)

To any gracious member considering helping us, we wouldn't require park passes, just the reservation. We're easy. :rotfl2:

Thank you again! :flower3:

You are completely right. I have no problem with it, I was just making sure people understood it. There are a lot of people who have complained about not being able to upgrade the comp ticket. So, I wanted to make sure people realized that the meal isn't going down in price. Our family has always had APs, so we've never used the comp passes.

We have a points account as well.....I've never even seen VGC listed, only the properties in FL. I mean, that was part of why we bought the points, so we could use them for the GCH because that's what our sales people told us we could do.......

VGC appears and disappears within hours if not minutes - so you really have to check aaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the time.
