This is a pic of from my surgery. The 1st pic shows the "defect"(I call pothole) in my cartilage. The second one shows the ACI surgery where they put a "cap" from my shin to cover the defect and keep the new cartilage cells from escaping. The lower part of the pic shows the new hardware(plate and screws) inserted.

Enjoy!

BTW, 1st post op went well with little swelling and wounds healing nicely. 2nd post op next week and will start PT soon:( Need more drugs. Now will be doing CPM 6 hrs a day.

OK what is CPM?

Ow, man that is amazing that you've got pics! Amazing also that your are all fixed.

Good luck with the rehab. Take those meds to help you through.

CPM is Continuous Passive Motion. It is a machine I hook my leg to and it bends my knee to help minimize losing range of motion. I started right after surgery and will continue for 6-8 hrs for the next month.

Pain meds. I got more today:banana:

Robert,

Glad the surgery was a success, but man that is UG-LY!

Terri

Robert,
Congratulations on the surgery and recovery.

Good Luck.

BTW, I think I see a hidden mickey in there.:rotfl:

Robert, after surgeries, the orthopedist that I used to work for would bring in all kinds of photos like these, and I had to identify the surgery and file them. Fun stuff. BTW, the only knee I could ever identify was my own!!! :lmao:

Glad to hear things are progressing so well. Pretty soon, the pain meds will go away and it will be hard to keep you in that chair! :flower3:

I will repeat what DH said after viewing pictures of my diaphram surgery - "I like the exterior view better."

How incredible that they gave you pictures!

I hope you have an uneventful and quick recovery.

I know some of you asked what my CPM unit is. It is Continous Passive Motion. The machine bends my knee to help keep range of motion. I am now hooked to this machine 6-8 a day for a month.

Here is a couple of pics of me hooked to it today. Only 5 1/2 more hrs to go:)

Just one question......What is it you are watching on TV????? :rotfl:

Seriously, hope you're feeling better! Hugs to you and Linda.

Hey Robert - are you going to beep now when you go through medal detectors at the airport? :teeth:

That's a cool looking machine. My dad needed something like that for when he had a spinal cord injury.

It's my own fault because you gave fair warning but I think I still have some puke in my mouth. ;)

Best of luck on your recovery!

Gross, I love it.

I have some pictures somewhere of my friend getting his broken leg set by the doctor. My friend was cycling and was hit by a car.

The photos are of the doc using a Dewalt 18 volt screwdriver to put pins in my friend's leg. I have to find them, and I'll post.

Oh, BTW, my friend is a dentist, so "the driller got drilled."
