My family is going on our first Disney vacation in April'06 and I want to plan out our days. We are doing the dining plan so I need to make reservations at some places for dinner. However I have no idea where to start to look for information... like where should be start first or what time are the parades and shows ect????

It will be me, DH Son 11 & daughter 5

Please I need help!!

Thanks
Melanie

Just wanted to second Chef Mickey's, also mousesavers is a great resource.

I'd start planning now but that's just me, some don't like to plan but I like to have an idea as to what we're doing on what day (not to the minuite by any means but just what park, restaurant, etc...)
Also note that Fantasmic doesn't show everynight so find out what day they're doing it and plan mgm for that day it is a must see if you haven't seen it.
have fun!
BTW, the 3:00 parade starts at 3:00 ;)

I also love the Passporter! Very handy! You can also look at the calendar for all of the parks at the WDW website. It will tell you the open-close times, as well as parade times, and times for Wishes, Illuminations, Fantasmic, etc. I am not really a planner, so for our previous trips we just kinda played it by ear. But this time we are on the dining plan, which I hear has made ADR's necessary, and we are taking our nieces (their first time), so I planned by park. Day 1- MK, dinner at Chef Mickey's. Day 2- MGM, dinner at Prime Time. It's easier to keep dining close to where you'll be because transportation can eat up a lot of your time. SO, if you wanted to eat at Ohana's, it might be easier to do it on a day that you'll be at the Magic Kingdom and can take the monorail over there... Just a suggestion! Hope it helps!

Thanks to everyone who posted. It helped me a lot to plan our days. I dont want minute by minute but at least to make sure we see all the parades ect. And I really need to make reservations so that is my main goal.

Thanks again!
