Need ideas where to donate those styrofoam allergan cups (both sizes). I have 16 sleeves of those & don't see a use for them.

I just sent them to school with my 6 year old. She needs to bring snacks every month and I sent 2 boxes of yogurt Cheerios and the styrofoam cups (saves me a lot of $$ over sending prepackaged individual things). The teachers love them because they can put goldfish crackers in them, etc. The kids don't care what they say on them. They also use them for water cups for watercolor painting.

Like Splash said, only thing available now is Auburn. If I remember right, there were a lot more jobs in Maine up north in the smaller towns.

I just donated a ton of those to a local day care center. They were going to use them to put paint in for the kids. I’ve also donated spoons, forks, napkins, and the small drinking cups to them. My DH has taken spoons, forks, and napkins in for their break room. I’ve donated spoons & forks to my nephew’s Boy Scout troop. The soufflé cups I donate to our Music Boosters who operates the outdoor concession stand at the High Schools. They put the warm cheese in them for the “big” pretzels. They still need to buy the lids, but I’ve kept them supplied in the cups all football season. Just this week, I got rid of a TON of stuff. I’m down to bare bones now.

I just got email that my event for tomorrow- Pink for a cure has been canceled. Nothing like short notice. I guess I can cancel the sitter I lined up for tomorrow. I now only have 1 event for October. They already canceled my event for Sunday a couple weeks ago. I am starting to get a complex. I don't see anything for Nov or Dec either. Is it typically slow this time of year?

For those of you who received your Maybelline/Garnier kit for tomorow, are you missing the (2) Instant Age Rewind Perfectors? I have the two samples of mascara but not the other product that we need to purchase the q-tips for.

Okay, I watched the video, answered all the online questions and am looking for a nice picture to send in - I'm usually the one taking the pictures or if by chance I'm in it then my eyes are open or somebody is in it with me. Then I sit and wait for a telephone interview.

In the meantime, if it's no trouble, would someone be willing to see what, if anything, is available in the 46550 area? I think 40 miles would be about as far as I'd want to go, maybe 50.

What with my DH hours and our children, this seems like it might be a good for me.

Searching 50 miles, I find one event for 10/20 in Mishawaka and 10/28 in Auburn.

Katiedid36- How disappointing your event was cancelled. This has happened to me once and I wasn’t notified at all. I went to activate my card the night before and it wouldn’t activate. Logged into my account and it showed “unbooked by me” when it wasn’t. I really think we should get some type of compensation on these last minute cancellations. I do think we’re heading into the “slow” season. I was hired late Oct. of last year and only had one event in December, but then again I was only with TMT at the time and only had Target & Kmart jobs available, not WM.

drgnfly30 - Glad you received at least one of the Instant Age Rewind Perfectors. I was thinking about buying one out of my own money if they weren’t too expensive, but I don’t know if it would help time pass or not. Last time I did a Garnier, it was SLOW going.

Thanks for the donation place ideas. I remembered we have a new community center in town. Not sure exactly what they do there, but they do seem to have some activities for kids. I dropped off 16 sleeves of styrofoam cups, 6 sleeves of plastic souffle cups, 1 pkg of forks, & 5 pkgs of napkins. The 4 ladies in the office were SOOOOOO happy! One told me she's been saving her crystal light cups & washing them out for arts & crafts. I told her I have more at home & I'll be back. I haven't even dug into the bathroom size cups or spoons yet.

FYI: I was in Sally Beauty the other day and they have their 100 count Vinyl disposable gloves for $4.99. This is a sale price, don’t need to be a member to get this price. I’ve bought the ones at the Dollar Tree similar to what we receive in our kits and my hands still sweat. I bought the gloves at Sally’s and used a pair yesterday at my event and they were great. They’re on sale until 10/31 so I may go back and get another box.

Just checked on-line and the Instant Age Rewind Perfector is $8.49 at CVS. Don’t think I’ll be purchasing it out-of-pocket unless WM is about $5 cheaper.

I may have to wear my black one. Standing near the table cover will be bad enough without having to wear the plastic!

I did get one age rewind...in light and 2 mascaras! Not sure what I'll do w/ 2 mascaras since it's not like anyone will be trying it out! I doubt anyone tries the age rewind either.

It must have just been my kit missing the “Rewinder”. At least you “guys” have one. I too wondered why two mascaras. My plastic apron & tablecloth don’t smell too bad. Maybe I should leave them outside tonight to air out.

I'm not in this demo, but don't keep it in the house - I bought a shower curtain that smelled like that and everyone got sick here with terrible headaches and sinus trouble. I guess some people are really sensitive to it, so hang it up outside unfolded if you can - mine did lose it's smell.

This was in our paper:

Vinyl products (PVC) stink because they contain volatile organic compounds. VOCs are carbon-containing chemicals that are volatile enough to evaporate at room temperature. This process, called outgassing, is also a problem with building products such as plywood, particleboard, carpet and pads, paints, stains and glues.

Outgassing odors are most noticeable when products are new, but diminish over time until they finally disappear. A shower curtain can outgas for a month or longer, for example, depending on conditions. High temperature and humidity will speed up the release of VOCs.

Meanwhile, you'll want to avoid exposure to VOCs because they can be toxic. Most commonly they irritate eyes, noses and throats, causing coughing, headaches, dizziness and nausea. Usually, the symptoms go away when outgassing ceases.

Their advise is not to buy these items, but it says if you are stuck with the item:


• Air the product in a well-ventilated area before bringing it into your home.

• Keep the items in a hot humid area -- making sure that windows are open, exhaust fans are operating, etc. -- to speed up the outgassing.

Me too. I hadn't really considered setting up so close to front door at this Walmart Supercenter. I'll have to see what they think about that. Maybe I just won't bury myself down too far into the grocery section.
