Hi all! Just back from the big apple today and I was checking in! I'll take me a couple of days to catch up on all the posts I'm sure!

How was your trip? Hope you had a great time. We've had good weather this week.

I'm back from my small local Walmart off-date cereal event already. Hard to believe, but of the 3 cereals, they don't carry ANY of them. I can understand the 2 new ones, but they also no longer carry the Nature Valley Oats&Honey. And I've sampled that cereal there before. We checked the shelves & the back room. Nothing.

Luckily I only live 2 miles from the store. I made my 75 cent purchase, got the signature & left after being there abour 45 minutes. And hey, I just left everything in the car & I'm already packed for tomorrows event now. 5 hrs pay would have been nicer than just $28, but I'm just glad I didn't drive a long distance to find out there was nothing.

On 7/19 I could not do that event either because my MC Card would not work and I did not have any $ to buy the product myself. First my TMT card went bad then my SPi one They have sent me new ones. I called SPI and waited an hour but no one called back. So I sent an email when I got home. They said I would still get the $38 for showing up and clocking in/getting paperwork signed.

I know this is a little too late and maybe you tried this, but the cashier can manually put the card info in and sometimes it will work. The first time my card wouldn't work, I paid for the product and was reimbused. The second time I had a card problem, the cashier sent me to Customer Service and they "played" around with it manually for a few minutes and got it to work. Worth a try should you have the problem again.

Boy are you right! Weather Friday, Saturday and Sunday was heaven! Great temps. and hardly ANY humidity which is wonderful! The weather men kept saying "this never happens"! We hate the humidity here so we're prepared for it there but did not have to deal with it!

Monday however was hurricane force rain! We had a great time and did not let it bother us though! Spent WAY too much money as that is a VERY expensive place to be! But I can't wait to go back!
Now it's back to work to get more $ for the next vacation!

I had a similar issue once when trying to purchase the product. I had activated my card the night before and it would not go through the next morning. I had the cashier monkey with it for a while and then I called SPi and tried to talk to some one there and got no answer so after about 20 minutes of waiting for a return phone call I called in and activated my card again. I then used it with no problem. I am guessing that somehow the activation did not 'take' the first time. I think if my card does not go through again I will reactivate it even before trying to call SPi as calling them is not a real effeicient way of getting an answer.

The worst part is he is willing to go 60 miles!! He's new, THAT will get old, quick. Right now there are jobs that I won't take, 'cause it's the weekend we return from WDW. And it's driving me crazy, not booking them. I just have to watch them everyday to see when they disappear.

Remember my demo lady from ----? Well she's still working, and still up to her old tricks. When I did the Big G cereal she was at my table 3 times. Once she reached around a customer to get a sample, with her gloves on. The last time she came around I said, "Do you really think that is sanitary? I hope you have other gloves today." ( Now remember, she doesn't talk when she comes around, just stands, and eats. ) And she said, "Probably not." I'm not sure what she was responding to, but I told everyone I could not to eat what she was sampling.

Forgot to mention, did you notice the Mejier instructions are not available, now? I wonder if they are changing them already. I did notice something about the time of the event was 11-4 unless noted otherwise on the report form.

Never noticed the Meijer event instructions were taken down. Wonder what’s up with that. I started to print them yesterday and there were so many pages I thought I’d wait since the event wasn’t for 8 more weeks. The guy willing to drive 60 miles may be getting into “my area”. The store I’m going to today is only 15 miles in distance, but the drive home with traffic is almost 25 minutes and that’s as far as I go. I understand what you’re saying about seeing jobs the weekend you return from vacation and not booking them. There are several Toaster Strudel jobs on 8/9 not taken and they’ll go off-date the day before we get back from vacation. It just bugs me them being there. Since they involve a toaster oven maybe they’ll still be there the next day.

ZanneMarie - When I had card troubles the first thing I did was to reactivate but that didn’t help. However that is an excellent tip for newbies! By the way, did you get the Meijer event in MI? I believe Meijer is headquarted in MI.

I've done like 100 events, and I just quit. I was gone in CA last week, and they hadn't received (for whatever reason) my paperwork. Like 2 days later, I was locked out of the system. They always send these nasty-sounding notes instead of saying "hey, do you have copies of your report?"

Soooo - that is it for me! It was nice making a little extra money, and I'll miss my repeat guests and co-workers.

Oh - and make copies! I sometimes made copies, sometimes didn't.

I think I've been locked out of the system as well. They won't answer my emails either. I have no idea what the heck I've done. It could be questioning where my pay was but I did have my copies. Or it could be not doing an event at a store that did not exist. But hey I still don't see how that could be my fault I'd just like an answer from someone. But it looks like I'm not going to get it. I loved doing the job.

I actually got an email that these Meijer events were coming from someone at SPi--not my normal contact person -- but could not try to book them yet because they were further than 3 months out. Today I was able to see them on the booking site and I took one at a store literally 3 minutes from my house. Of course this means I will see everyone and their brother that I know but I love not having to drive far!

I am a little worried about booking so far in advance as I have one son that plays football and one that plays soccer on Saturdays in the fall and both of them travel so it can be difficult. I guess it will be up to DH to get them when and where they are needed.


Can I dare dream of off dates!!! I have seen only TWO off dates offered in my area and I have been doing this for over a year!

Fed Ex just dropped off a box for an event I unbooked a couple of weeks ago! I emailed my contact to see what she'd like me to do about it. You would think, especially since an hour after I unbooked it was already rebooked by someone else, that this wouldn't have happend.

Yes, she tried it manually and also tried it with a plastic bag wrapped around it-no go. CS could not get it to work either

The time my TMT card would not work I called and got Patrick on the phone. He checked and the card was activated and all set to go. That was Target and they knew me so they Qmosed the product for me. Not sure about the SPi card on 7/19- I will try re-activating it if that happens again.

That’s interesting about your email of upcoming Meijer events so this possibly isn’t a “one time event”. I didn’t take the Meijer closest to my house since that’s where I do most of my shopping and really didn’t want to be there. Understand completely about kids activities and booking events two months out. Both of my girls are in marching band and they do competitions on some Saturdays in the fall. Last year we had the competition schedule in March, but don’t have one for this year yet. Hopefully they’ll be evening competitions like last year.

Okay, make sure you post how it goes! I'm curious since most events go very fast here and these have all just sat for 3 weeks now. The date is Aug 31st for all the ones here.

Our instructions tell us to take it to the store so the other person can do the event. However, since its not your fault, I wonder if you still need to do that.

Was your event a Monday?

For the newbies here, for Monday events you can only activate your card on Monday morning, because on Sunday nights they clean the system of any activated cards.

I've forgotten this twice myself. And then I get to the checkout & it doesn't work. duh!

hmmm, Labor Day weekend & its only showing up at a couple of stores here.

BUT, theres also a Target event for 8/18 Salute to Savings...the same day as the Kmart events. Might have to take Target for 8/18 instead & hope the Kmarts don't get taken & do them off-date after. BUT, someone either already took MY Target (a FIRST!!!) or it wasn't listed.
