Well, I have my first event tomorrow. I am pretty excited, but also nervous. I'm worried about the store not having my kit, since that seems to happen a lot. The good thing is that I have another event the very next day at the same store so I can be sure my Diet Pepsi gets chilled (I was worried about that). Any last minute tips or advice for this newbie?

You guys are great! I am so grateful for this thread. Not only did I get the perfect part time job for me, but I also get tons of feedback and information from very knowledgable people. I feel pretty prepared thanks to this thread :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Just relax and remember it always is SO much easier than you think it's going to be! And doing the diet pepsi should keep you very busy so it'll go fast!

Congrats on the first job!!!! Its a lot easier once you get there and setup. Its like "wow, great I took the first step.."..lol...
 
Where do I get the black cap and black apron? Does MC provide these or do I need to find them myself?

Congrats! I'm thinking they might be swamped with emails...so I would put a phone call in just to try to get a rush on the request. Even if you have to leave a message, state what it is you need (a starter kit with table, trash can, apron & hat), your name & email address & your employee #. That way, someone can take care of it without having to call you back to find out what you needed. I always end up saying I would appreciate an email or phone call back so I know someone took care of it.

Well anyway I found out that we do get a 30 minute break for a 6 hour event, 10-15 minutes for a 5 hour event and no break for a 4 hour event.

When is your first event?? Yes, MC should send you that along w/ a table!

My first event is March 16th. It's 2 weeks away, so that should be enough time for me to receive it. The instructions say that the other kit will be delivered to the store. I'm a little concerned about that. I hope it's there for me.

Oh, I'm with SPI and there haven't been any Wal-Mart events available for booking. The only ones I've seen are Target and Harris Teeter supermarket.
 
I'm with SPi and ALL we get are wal-marts but finally I'm doing a Target, not a ST, for diet dr. pepper on the 10th! If my kit is not there or I have problems then I know I won't do another one there!

Has anyone used a plastic tableclothe on table under a toaster oven? I don't want to start a fire. :rolleyes1 I was going to add one to my kit for tomorrow's biscuit event....along with duct table that they didn't list.

ALSO....any display idea? We don't have a poster. Can't display the opened package of biscuits because its destroyed once you open it. lol Can't exactly leave unopened packages on table due to refrigeration factor. All we have is a brochure of recipes. And place cut biscuits samples on napkins.

Pretty boring looking table if you ask me - if you don't count all those warning signs we need to post too. :confused3
 
Here's a tip:

I was really tearing up those plastic tablecloths but hated the bare look of the table without them.... so what I started doing is saving the 3 sided posters that have been coming with the Target kits (the ones that you set up in the actual table instead of taping to the front & sides)... I turn them backwards so only the white part is showing... that way I don't have to use the tablecloth & it eliminates the bare look of the table.

Hope it helps someone out!;)

I love those 3 sided posters. It's so much easier that fighting the tape and sticking them to everthing but the table. You guys with your idea's :love:
 
I am with TMT and I just got an e-mail from SPI. It says that they are aware that I am with TMT, but they also have work available with SPI, if I would be interested in working with both agencies. And it says earn up to $85for 5 hours.
I just received this email too. :banana: Does anybody else think something's up? There haven't been any events for us past 3/11.

BTW>.. Response from Taylor about the pay increase:

We do have many enhanced jobs on the way. When booking the job it will let you know if the job is. Pay for those are up to $85 for 5 hours.

This has probably been answered before, but what's the minimum age you have to be to work for Mass connections? Thanks, and yes I already work for them.
 
Good question. For some reason, I had thought it was 18. But don't we have a 17 yr old?

I wanted to refer my niece & her friends (out of state of course, lol), but she's only 17, so I haven't...yet. :confused3

Nothing here: https://www.eventsandpromotions.com/ nor on the first page to apply...other than date of birth.

On the Jurat that we needed to have notarized, near the bottom, it lists some extra documents that you need to include if you are under 18 & unable to provide some of the other forms. BUT, I don't think that is a MC specific form. I think thats a general work form any company can use.

Nothing with our referral info.

Maybe its in that video on the website we had to watch before applying???

Maybe I'll email Daniel & ask. It would be good to know when handing out referral cards.
 
Ther is a guy that works for MC I have mt at some of my events an he is only 16. He seems somewhat responsible

Received the email last night!!!! :woohoo: I can't wait to start booking with SPi. I've only been getting 2 demos per month with TMT. I'm hoping to get some Walmart events.:banana:
