I hear you! I would have grabbed one for the 17th but we are going to see the Nutcracker at the convention center.

That sounds like fun! I won't have much for December, even though there was SO much to pick! I'm in the Smokey Mountains this weekend, and next weekend the RADP meets - but I'll take whatever I can get the rest of the month. :)

Criminey - I'm to demo Keurig Coffee - but no kit came (I blame the weather!) The instructions say I have to stand in front of the coffee machine and talk!! 5 hours????

IF no coffee (and I only have $6 on my MC Card!) then I'm calling to suggest a cancellation!!

Just got back from another wine event... I didn't get a kit this time & forgot to email SPI but I had enough supplies left over so I wasn't sweating it, when I got there my whole set up was done for me already; the owner said a rep was just there to set the kit up & that it was the first time they'd ever got a kit shipped to them :confused3 I'm totally baffled, the kit was supposed to come to me but apparently went to the store & some 'rep' set it up for me, I can only assume they were from the distributor. I'll email them later to see what I should expect going forward.

Anyone have events booked for January yet?? There has been NOTHING coming up for me for weeks now.... :guilty:

Which Wine? I see several pop up for Target (oohWine, and another) but I'm scheduled to do some Sterling, BV wine later in the month!

TIA

Just wanted to thank OP for posting; the very first position I saw was to be Chuck E. Cheese at the local pizza place -- and I jumped on it :) Dunno--just sounds like fun!

Wish me luck!!!

It's the Sterling/BV Cabernets.

Thanks!!

My Kuenig Coffee demo went well - I met another Spi/MC demo person - she really knows her stuff!! She sized me up, and talked wine - she and I will compete for the wine events!!

just really interesting - I just hope I get paid - I've done 5 events and only been paid for 1!!

Idb, I am with TMT, not SPI, but there are three events I pull up for Wichita:

Archer Farms Spinach and Artichoke Purses SuperTarget Center E 21st St Wichita 12/16/2006

Archer Farms Apple Pie SuperTarget Center E 21st St Wichita 12/17/2006

Archer Farms Apple Pie SuperTarget Center W Maize Rd Wichita 12/17/2006

I keep looking for Overland Park and I stare at those Wichita ones and then decide they are just too far!

I see nothing posted for Wichita! TMT must have them all but not SPi.

My Kuenig Coffee demo went well
Was it easy? I'll be doing that the next two weekends. I don't drink or make coffee, so am hoping it's pretty simple to do!!!

It was SO easy!! I went to www.greenmountaincoffee.com - they have a video on the machine! I used 4 gallons of water, spi has 5 for us to purchase, and the kit comes with 4 boxes of green mountain coffee - our Target sold the box of 25 coffees for $9.95 - which works out to be 25cents for a cup of coffee! (the one lady insisted it was forty cents, I believed her until I got home and thought about it!! )

So you put the vacuum sealed container, getting no muss from the gormet beans or coffee filter - and the beans dont go stail in the vacuum pkg! (can you tell I have a script!!)

I dont like coffee either, I'm a tea drinker - the box of the machine gives the buyer a sample of 18 coffees, teas, and hot chocolate... and they can go online to order, and the box contains a free shipping code!!! Lots of people asked for decaf, and I told them its available online!

Have fun, all but the standing for 5 hours - it was no problem, and I dont like the smell of coffee, it didnt bother me a bit!

eeyore45, that's good to know!!! I've been worrying about this.
But I demoed potato salad, and I don't like that either.
That paycheck is a good incentive!!

Are we supposed to use a few of the coupons in our kit to purchase our product? Also, Splash had posted a list of what she takes in her bag with her and I was wondering if anyone knew where that post was-thanks! My 1st event- Hills Brothers Cappuccino is tomorrow!

Your event instructions should tell you that. I've never used a coupon, but each event is different, so checking the instructions is your best bet!
Also, once you know how much the product is, check it against your debit card limit, that should help decide the answer. Sometimes you just have to figure things out as you go along!!! This job keeps you on your toes.
Good luck tomorrow!

I copied and pasted in Word the document Spsh made to help us through!

Day before event:
Print instructions & any emails received that amend the instructions.
Print store report form.
Call in to activate MC card.
Read instructions....and learn script.
Pack necessary supplies.

Day of event:
I arrive about 15 min early.
Grab a carriage & put my table & supplies in it.
Go to service desk & ask for mgr. Sometimes they come to desk with my box that was delivered to the store; most times I go to their office with my carriage (Kmart) --what ever they want.

If I'm near the back room, I open MC box & put contents in carriage & go get rid of empty box in back room compactor.

Then take carriage & go buy the stuff I need. (I just tell cashier the other junk in carriage is for my demo. No problems so far....and instructions prove all that anyway.) I'm usually thru check-out around 11. 11:10 at latest depending on how long I waited at service desk, or finding product, or check out lines.

Then I take carriage & go set up table.
Then I take carriage & grab some extra product for table display. I count the product on the shelf. Note quantity somewhere. Also note price & aisle # for customers.
Ditch the carriage when empty. Ready to roll by 11:15 most days. (first few events took me longer until I figured out this routine)

About 15-20 minutes before end of event, I put back any remaining product I took from shelf to sell (NOT the remaining product I bought to demo out). I count the remaining product on the shelf. Note it somewhere OR fill out answers on the report form.

I grab a carriage & start breaking down. Put everything in carriage. I put the stuff to go back to the manager in the child seat. All trash in my trash bag; and box up my table. I walk the store with my carriage, picking up any trash I find from event. Toss it in my bag. Head to back room. Throw out trash in compactor. Go to service desk & ask for manager to come sign me out. Give him/her whatever is left from event that instructions say to give them. Go swipe out thru register making a 75 cent purchase. Go home.

Immediately, complete report form if you didn't at the store. Call in results to Computerlink. Attach receipts. Prepare your own envelope to mail it that night or next day using address labels (if they were provided).

If doing another event next day, activate MC card again.

Also for Super Target (ST) they have all the demo items and tables in one area - so using a shopping cart isnt necessary - just open the table and put the MC kit box on the shelf of the table!

Dont forget a garbage bag - I hate when I forget to grab a bag for trash!

Well, I am back from my 1st event at the local Super Target and it was great. The demo manager was so nice-she showed me where everything was and helped me set up/break down. There was plenty of product and they re-stocked the shelves mid way too. The other demo ladies were very nice and I felt welcome there. People liked the Hills Bros. cappuccino and I sold about 23 cans. Gave out about 200 samples and it was a pretty slow day in there! The black Crocks really helped. I had fun! The manager even came to me at 3:20 to sign the paperwork! She put that I did a "wonderful job" and said please come back. :cheer2: Wine label event on Wednesday.

I'm back from Smoking Loon wine at ST. What a bust! I think I must have had only 20-35 people. One person remarked the wine was strong :confused3 . I never heard that comment before when sampling wine.

This ST was very nice that showed me where to hang my coat since it's way to cold out to make a mad dash from and to my car. We are supposed to see single digits again tonight.

Congrats on your first demo :thumbsup2

PatriciaH - Congratulations on your first event. :thumbsup2 My first event is the Tassimo Brewing System on 12/17. I downloaded the Store Report & Event Instructions just now. :cool1: Now for the Event boxes to show up!

I am doing Ulta Sat and then I am doing Chocolove on Sun at ST...... Should be a fun weekend..... How about ya'll, what do ya'll have this weekend??? :)

Nothing! A whole lot of nothing, second week in a row! They must have overhired this area because I only have one event booked the entire month!
