I'm back from Smoking Loon wine at ST. What a bust! I think I must have had only 20-35 people. One person remarked the wine was strong :confused3 . I never heard that comment before when sampling wine.

This ST was very nice that showed me where to hang my coat since it's way to cold out to make a mad dash from and to my car. We are supposed to see single digits again tonight.

Wow, I was told by another MC Spi person at ST I could NOT hang up my coat, and they could not do wine events at the ST!!! Amazing... I just nodded and smiled... I brought a WDW Tote bag, and wore a short polar tech coat that I could roll and stuff in the bag!!

I'm doing the Ulta event on Sat, Sun off - I may not make it tho, I've got a cough and I subbed in 1st grade - so I'm losing my voice! :rotfl2:

eeyore45 Go out and get some Airborne. That works pretty good. My cold didn't get very bad. If I had one of those carts I would have stuffed my coat underneath but I was given a card table. A coat under that would look very tacky.

I received my paycheck today from the Pears event. I had totally forgotten about it. I haven't even been looking for events since really slow this month.

COAT: I think Christine (Drgnfly30) was the one with the good idea to stuff your coat into the hollow middle of the table when assembing it. :thumbsup2

And whoever was looking for my list of stuff in my bag.... who the heck knows what post that was on, but I'll do my best to re-create here.

My current bag of choice is a cute little tote bag I picked up at Michael's for about $5.99 when I was there replacing the apron I burned while ironing. Its a canvas tote bag (natural color) with black bottom & black stap handles. It measures 11.5" wide by 10.5" high. I LOVE IT. I put some black super strong sticking velcro in the top to close it if I want. The bag stands up on its own with its flat bottom & fits nicely in the bottom of our tables.

I've reduced to just this & its working nicely:
event instructions & forms
coin purse w/ just some $, license, ATM card, credit card, AAA card.....
water bottle & a granola bar
cell phone
car keys on a caribiner hooked on bag strap
MC card (CUTE atm card sleeve on a key chain thingy hooked on the bag strap - LOVE it...no more looking for card)
scotch tape to attach signs or posters
nite light for testing outlets (the thin glo in the dark kind -- no bulb to break)
hand sanitizer (small)
baby powder (small; put a bit on hands before putting on gloves)
small makeup case w/ personal items (tissues, breathe strips (no gum chewing), comb, lip balm, a few advil...)
plastic envelope thingy w/ some post-its, index cards for signs, sharpy, pens, and a index card with all contact info for agency & SPI....address, all phone #'s & extenstions, emails....because someone's customer had an accident & had to do insurance forms)

In my table kit, I toss in hat, apron, CHEAP trash bags, extra gloves from Dollar Store (I actually like these better than the ones they send), & the cardboard trash can.

And when needed, I toss in: hair net, extension cord & adaptor for converting 3 prongs to 2 prongs, duct tape, cutting board, a round gold plastic tray, black dollar store basket for napkins & plastic utensils, cooking utensils....

That's all I can think of. Hope that helps.

Nothing! A whole lot of nothing, second week in a row! They must have overhired this area because I only have one event booked the entire month!

I wish I could get even ONE event this month! :sad2:

HEADS UP!! New events popping up. I have a few showing up Dec 23 and into January nothing close to me yet for January. So there's hope :cool1:

What kinds of events are popping up? Is it ST? Cooking events>>
thanks.. Wendy

Yep ST. In Dec it's wine January not ST cooking and unknown I can't tell "best of life diet" :confused3

None here yet, maybe soon..... We go to Disney Dec 31.......Just 3 more weekw....

Nothing new here either...

Anyone else get an email from SPI saying that in order to continue doing events I have to send them a picture of myself so they have one on file??? They've had mine since I signed up... in fact I see it everytime I check ADP since I just use their link to get to the site. :confused3

I also got the email asking for the picture. They have my picture already. There are no events for Kentucky. I haven't had a single event since the change to SPi. I sure hope things pick up soon.

No, no emails. They've had my pic since April. But I replaced it in October with a much nicer one since I finally had one that wasn't from WDW. ;)

This is weird. I can search 2 full months all at one time. 12/5 - 2/3 :confused3

But of course it only gets me the wine jobs near Boston that no-one wants; the Suave / Lipton off dates that are too far away; and TONS of Tassimos that apparently no one else wants to do either.

I was hoping for a Suave / Lipton off date in my area, but no such luck. So, it looks like I'll have just 1 event this month. Suave / Lipton on this Sat 12/9 at Kmart.

I'm doing Suave / Lipton tea demo on Sat. But unlike the Tassimo, we aren't provided with anything for people to put in their tea, nor do we have any $ to buy items. So, I guess they want people to drink their tea "straight".

Unfortunately, I didn't keep the sugar packs, stirrers, creamer from Sept Tassimo event. I was THINKING of bringing some loose sugar in a tupperware container. I have plenty of left over plastic spoons.

Do you think that would be ok? 1. I'm not following directions. 2. Its not little packets of sugar.

Besides sugar, what else do people put in tea? I don't want to go to all the trouble & my expense of bringing milk.

I have not seen any here yet for January-have you nobodyhome? Dec. 23rd came up for wine but I am doing Christmas Eve and Christmas day parties so I don't want to be crazy that weekend:)

I have my wine label event tomorrow and I never got a table or the sign that was supposed to come in the kit. I have a card table but it is large and the wine place is small. I called TMT and they said well can you call the store and see if they have a table or you can set up somewhere else? Haha. I guess I will just go with my card table and if they say no way no one will be able to get by you at least I showed up!

Maybe you can use some cases (boxes) from the store to create a table just large enough? Toss a tableclothe over it? But bring your table just in case. Then if not needed, put it back in the car. You certainly don't want to be blocking an aisle if your table is too big. Wonder if that would work since you aren't sampling & just using computer / printer.

Ohio has new ones for Yoplait in January.

What agency are you with?

Which cities are showing up?

I'm in OH and there's only one "Holiday Essentials - Laundry & Personal Care" showing up for Saint Clairsville on 12-16.

I've done 5 (wet) wine events & all but one store had a table for me to set up at... and the one that didn't begged me to leave my table for the tastings they hold regularly... I was in the holiday spirit & left it for them (besides the fact that I have like 6 of them at home).
