Target had everything for me. But I had 264 chip bags when instructions said 335. Used all my samples, cleaned up, put boxes in back and signed out at 4:38! Went fast and was easy! Those who tried the Altoids really liked them, but the store didn't have any for sale!

Same here, only I had 192 bags of chips. My Altoids were in my table box. I did sell a couple bags of the chips, but the report form didn't even ask about them, only the mints.
When they first gave me the chips, there were 7 brown boxes, each with 24 bags inside. Half way thru the event another girl brought out one more brown box of 24. Makes me wonder if there were 5 or 6 more in the back they just didn't give me.

I did Archer Farms Ciabatta rolls and olive oil today. It was pretty slow but I gave out 180 samples and sold all the bags of rolls. I love my ST they have a demo manager and she is always ready. Next week Lipton tea.

That is what I did. I handed out about 125 samples - it was pretty slow, but we did have an hour or so where it was busy, and sold 5. (one left). I'd have sold more if they weren't par-baked. :)

But everyone did like them. I was told several times that the oil needed ground pepper or italian seasoning in it. :)

Thanks for all the posts and information. I just submitted my app. I hope all goes well. Thanks again and I will keep everyone posted.

Since my event didn’t run yesterday and I had the opportunity to talk with the event coordinator, I asked her a couple of questions that have been a topic of discussion her lately.

1. Why at Target do we set up in Food Ave. as customers are leaving the store? Her answer: Target events are not about sales, they are about customer interaction. My thought: Why then do we need to count beginning and ending product along with # of products sold?:confused3

2. Is it OK for me to contact the store prior to the event? Her answer: Yes you can. While it’s not encouraged, and the store is also being judged, as you get to know the managers and you develop a rapport with them, if you feel you should contact the store you can. I brought up the case of the upcoming Enviga Tea and Pepsi events which needed chilled product. Didn’t want to show up to purchase “warm” product. She also indicated the stores were contacted in advance about the event and should be prepared. Four events, two different stores, and nobody knew I was coming.

Our demo lead called our MC guy yesterday, and it was okayed to put the chip/altoid event in a different area (which was MUCH better). I did Godiva once by Food Avenue, and it was terrible, because people wanted to buy - but were on the way out. Supposedly a lot of ST's are set up with the food on the way in, but not in ours.

All of the ST events I have done say to set up near the product or "in a high traffic location." I always ask the demo manager and each time have set up near the product.

I saw Wenpops son at Target today...

Mama3princess and Wenpop when are you going to be at Acworth Target? I would love to see you one day.

I will be doing demo at a different store next weekend.

Everytime I've seen someone doing a demo at the ST I go to, they are never in food ave. area! They are always in the grocery section usually right in front the product near an end cap.

I don’t have a ST within a 100 miles of me, so no large grocery section. Maybe ST setups are different than regular Targets - don‘t know. The only thing I know is a lot of people on this thread question setting up in the Food Ave., usually where you exit the store, which doesn’t allow for immediate sales. Knowing how picky TMT can be, I don’t want to be “docked” pay for non-compliance for not being in the Food Avenue. Since immediate sales are not important for events in the Food Ave, I don’t need to worry about “selling” - or so I've been told. ;)

Just to add to the whole set up in Food Ave or not debate...I will say that at my Target and actually all three in my area (not supers) just outside the Food Avenue is a great place to set up. It is on the way into the store and every person that comes into the store must pass me. None of those people that spy you at the end of the aisle and then make sure they take the back way to miss you (avoiding all eye contact as well) you know the type. And it does not get as congested because there is a nice open area. I guess it really depends on the setup of each particular store.

At the regular Target I've gone to, Food Ave is on the way out. About 50 percent of the time, they've let me move to a better location -- like near the product. It just depends on who's been working that day. One lady never lets me. The others, I seem to be able to convince, or they don't know any better. lol

Splash... I don't have a supertarget withing a billion miles of me (well not exactly true.. how far is yours from michigan ;) )

Anyways... they would not accept those coupons you printed. Bummer!

That's how my Target is, too! Food Avenue would be too crowded if I set up inside it, it's very small. The ST I sometimes travel to has it on the way out, but I've never seen anyone inside it, they always put us by the front door.

My son has not started yet.. Sorry.... He is still waiting on them to sign his job permit..... Hopefully soon he will start but not yet.... If you met the other 17 year old, he is not even close to being as big as my son.... And my son is way more talkative.... Anyway.... Were you working or just happened to be shopping.....

At my ST, I set up down the first major aisle.... It is where the others set up and people just stop at each table and sample.... It is a good place to set up, and when they set me on the other side I do not do as well, Like Sun... Not many people came that way, Only sold 1 item..... The worst yet, So next time I will make sure I stay where I usually set up.....
With the FUel Up, I sold 29 boxes of cereal and fiber one bars combined!!! That has been the most ever!!!!!
I am really going to miss Saturday work.... But my 6 year old is playing baseball, Can't miss that....... Hopefully I will still have my Sundays..... But I think we are going to start back Church.... My 6 year old has been asking me questions, I can't answer the way I should.... I guess I will still have some off dates....

I don't know of ANY SuperTargets within a billion miles of me either. Just regular Targets.

Bummer about the coupons. Fine for us to use personally on a couple of items, but I can understand them not wanting us to be handing them out. Oh well. It was a nice thought for the customers.

Wenpop, that was my first reaction to that post. I was thinking..... HOW can Wenpop's son behired & working ALREADY? Not enough time had gone by. So, if I tell me niece up north of me about this job, will she be stalked too?

I finally saw the Nature Valley cereal commercial with the demo lady in the woods. lol AND, I noticed another commercial with a demo lady in it. Its one of those Capital One commercials with the barberians. He's shopping in a grocery store; has a whole slab of meat (with legs) sticking out of carriage. Goes over to the demo table to sample a piece of ham.....and its a huge ham steak with a huge fork sticking in it. lol

Splsh, are you still doing Enviga this weekend? and how r u feeling? My event that I had cancelled opened up again so I was thinking of rebooking it.

Hey have any of you guys had a pay increase?? I keep noticing my paychecks seem a lot more padded and was wondering if it was just me or everyone else, of course i hate to bring it up and jinx my next one but i also dont want to get back docked down the line. Its only been my last two events, one 4 hour and one 5 hour.

Sorry ive been at disney the past few days and have missed a few pages...lol.

I am still doing the Enviga this weekend... The product tastes like crap but the customers eat (or drink) that stuff up. They love it!

No pay increase that I can see... $70 event no extras for electronics... $60.01..... You are the lucky one

Yeah, I'm still doing it. Feeling better. Thanks. Energy is back too. Well, as much as I had anyway. lol

I'm due to receive pay soon, I think. But my last 2 checks were normal.

A raise would be nice. DH's car is in for repairs today. They called & said it's going to be $1100. grrrrrr. That's cutting into savings or my kitchen make-over budget.

Well decided not to take the enviga after all, talked to dbf and we decided to just have a nice relaxing weekend (especailly after this past weekend) and since I will be doing two events next weekend on 3/3-3/4. I kidan feel a little bad about passing it up, are you guy sgetting kits at home for that, that was my other worry that maybe i wont get the kit int time, either way i think i wil pass by my local target and see that demo person and see what they do as compared to me...lol(stalker...hehehe)

Well in that case I will have to go and look and see where the xtra money is coming from and then maybe I should shoot them an email about it.
