I had my first "
seagull" customer today. I had run out of cooked cinn rolls & had a few people hanging around as I took them out of oven & frosted them. I start cutting a roll & this one lady (about 55 - English as 2nd language I'm assuming) just "dives" right in & "steals" half a roll right off my cutting board as I'm in the process of cutting it.

I literally stopped, looked up with eyes wide open, my jaw dropped open, & she's LAUGHING.

I looked at her (with everyone else looking at her too) & said "that's NOT the size I'm handing out, AND THANK YOU so much for waiting for me to cut them.".

She walked away still laughing. Well, then the others started commenting about what she had just done - so I joined in too - and her family just stood there & waited.

Well, enough of that TWIT!!!
I got some emails from a few people doing event tomorrow & wanted to know how it went today. This event keeps you BUSY. But its easy. Store had only 18 of the 8count tubes. If I bought 10, that left 8 to sell; and I didn't want to buy less since I knew they would be popular. So, instead, I bought enough of the 5count tubes to equal the 80 cinn rolls I was supposed to demo. I took 16 5count tubes to register with foil & spray, but only had enough $ to pay for 15 5count tubes & foil & spray ( leaving 75 cents for swipe out). No biggie.
I started out first batch of just 3 rolls, then 4 rolls, then decided to just cook entire 5 roll tube at a time. As soon as I was down to 2 rolls, I put another tray of 5 into the oven. You REALLY needed to use your time well. While tray was cooking, I would unwrap & pop another tube, but leave it in the bag of product in the dairy case near me. I would also get another piece of foil out. This way, when I needed to get another tray into the oven QUICK while in middle of cutting samples, I could do it fast.
When rolls were cooked, I kept them wrapped in foil & on top of oven to stay warm. When rolls were cooking, I put the plastic cup of icing on a napkin on top of oven to soften it some.
I think I only threw away about 4 samples that had gotten cold.
I CANNOT see doing this demo without a cutting board. But you could skip spatula/turner. The rolls came off foil very easy due to spray. I cooked rolls for 8 mins. Anything longer started to get slightly burned around top edges. (

You can just pull off any burned edges & cover it with icing. LOL)
And ABSOLUTELY bring some water to clean up. In between batches & cutting, when ever possible, I was washing down board & knife. If you have extra gloves, BRING THEM. I use my own gloves from the Dollar Tree that I like better. I had a new package of 100 with me & was sooooo glad. You will use a ton of napkins wiping icing off your gloves, board & knive. Tableclothe good idea too.
I mentioned to people they also came in reduced fat & sugar free. Sold some of those types too just by mentioning that since people didn't know & were diabetic or on a diet. One diabetic lady told me the sugar free ones taste just as good as the regular ones. And play up Easter being next weekend.
Anyway, I sold 14 of the 18 8count tubes; and 3 of the remaining 14 5count tubes after I bought my 15 tubes. Pretty good day for a beautiful Friday afternoon.
Good luck to others. If you are cooking them on a busy Sat....you MIGHT almost need to cook 8 at a time & put in another tray when down to 4. They samples went fast & you need to wait 10 minutes for another batch.
I was too busy to even get a picture taken. lol
Oh, I forgot. I used the equivalent of 7 (8ct) tubes to sample. At the beginning, I had some waiting in between batches until I tweeked my batch sizes. I'm sure you'll use more on a weekend.
Sorry so long. I talk too much.
