That is awesome, you have beautiful hair. What exactly did they do to it?

It's kinda like perming, but more complicated. They first apply some kind of solution to break down the protein in your hair. Then they use hot iron to straighten the hair, strand by strand. Then they add another solution to bond it again. The whole process took me 4.5 hours.

It's different from relaxer, because it's supposed to restore your hair's heath, and not damage it. The process is very popular in Asia, and started to take off in US.

Your hair looks beautiful. Healthy, with lots of luster. Last Friday I saw someone hair who had this done and could not believe how healthy and beautiful it turned out.

While we do relaxing services where I work this was the first time I had seen this process. I am amazed how healthy the hair is after the service. I know for lots of people this is a blessing.

I'm guessing the results to the length of the hair last for a long time but as you have new growth come in at your roots it would still be curly--just the opposite of a perm. I will have to check into learning this though. Her hair is beautiful and I know that people who are unhappy with curly, wavy, frizzy hair would be so happy with this. I'm inspired.

Maybe I'll get Mare to be my "guinea pig"!
