Anyone else just love the homes on Desperate Housewives? I really love the porches. The neighborhhod has such great color too. In most of the newer developments around here the homes are usually some shade of brown, tan or white. Their pickett fences are sooooo cute too. :) Anyone else dying to buy a home on Wisteria Lane?

I could never understand that, build a new neighborhood and they paint them the same ... I would HATE that, looks pretty stupid too!

I watched Oprah the other day and she visited Wisteria Lane. They said that one house use to be the "Munster" house and another one (I think it's Bries) use the be the Beav's in "Leave it to Beaver". They are beautiful homes, are there really neighborhoods like that?

I loved that Oprah episode! It was soo funny. :) I wonder if there are neighborhoods like that too. I think they would sell very well. I know I'd be first in line to buy one. I'm tired of boring, treeless, non-pickett fenced developments. :)

the show that oprah did on desparate housewifes was sooooooo funny .. I loved it... I would love to live in this neighborhood...

In this week's People magazine, they have a Wisteria Lane guidemap.

They keep the Munster's house off camera because it is so recognizable.

Susan's house was also Elijah Wood's house in Deep Impact.

Edie's new house is going to be built on the vacant lot next to Lynette's house.

That's all I can remember off of the top of my head. What a beautiful neighborhood. You all are right, you don't see bright colored houses like that anymore.

Did anyone see Oprah yesterday where Felicity Huffman sang with Tina Turner? Both ladies looked awesome and Felicity looked like she was having the time of her life.

YES, The houses are gorgeous. I would love to have neighbours like tha too!!! :goodvibes

I have been watching that programme and absolutely convinced that it is Disneys Celebration! It looks just like it!!!

Actually guys, the houses are on "residential street" in the backlot of Universal Studios Hollywood. I have worked there numerous times. If you are in LA and go on the backlot tour, you will see it. The houses they are talking about are actually facades from Leave It to Beaver, Munsters, Providence, etc. It is not an actual neighborhood...just a backlot set.

Have a great day,
Michelle

I agree!! I'd say that I do live on Wisteria Lane, but there is actually a Wisteria Lane here in Celebration :) We looked at a house there before we built our house. I keep telling DH that we should have bought that house just so we'd have the address of Wisteria Lane now, but then he reminds me that **I** am the one who didn't care for that house

Actually I would not like to live on Wisteria Lane-- With all those beautiful housewives? Me and my neighbor friends aren't size 2's so I choose to stay right where I'm at. :rotfl:

The same set (neighborhood) is also used for a commercial. And for the life of me I can't remember what it's for. There is a huge rhino charging through this beautiful neighborhood- and if you look closely at the houses, you can recognize the yellow one and blue one. ;)
