Wanna Drive 811 miles to Disney? Tomorrow? Another Mickeystoontown Report FINISHED! 2/14/25!

You had to make some hard choices. We've all had to do that. There is no way to do it all.

I'm so glad you're writing another trip report and that you were able to get away. I'm sorry you've been dealing with so much. We actually arrived two days after you left. I can't wait to read about the rest of your trip!

Nope, there's simply no way. Thankfully, we have a long trip planned in November and we can at least try to do it all.

I'm so glad that you are here! Where did you guys stay? Was it a good trip?

I used to love Figment but liked the first version - not the new and improved. I'm not saying 100% but I might agree with your DH :-) Bring back the Dream Finder!

You'd think they would have found him after all these years!

You'll recall from the last post that we gave up our virtual queue spot for Guardians of the Galaxy and had just seen a "stupid" purple thing at Journey Into Your Imagination. Now that we knew we didn't have to sprint from somewhere in World Showcase to the front of the park to ride Guardians, we could relax and start our stroll around World Showcase.

I normally like shopping while at Disney but we didn't do a whole lot of it this trip due to time constraints. But, I did go through the Port of Entry and Disney Traders stores. I didn't see anything that I wanted and we, basically, walked in one side of each and out the other. We aren't ones who have to go from left to right or right to left when it comes to traveling World Showcase. I usually try to plan which direction we go in accordance of where we need to end up. Today, we needed to end up at the front of the park for our dinner reservation. So, we chose to start in Mexico.

The pavilion was busy and people were sitting around on the fountain inside in an attempt to cool off or just rest for a minute. I know that it happens but it kind of makes me upset that it takes away from the ambience of the pavilion. Not that the line for the boat ride doesn't take away from it too but I'm sure you know what I mean.

We looked around the open shopping area and I purchased three little bags of Gloria's milk candies. They remind me of pralines but not really but kinda sorta.

If you aren't going to Epcot anytime soon, you can find them on Amazon.

Candy purchase made, we looked at the line for Gran Fiesta and it was moving swiftly so we hopped in the line and were soon aboard our boat and floating along.

John was floating along with his eyes shut when we got to one of the scenes where they were looking for Donald Duck and that's when he never opened his eyes but said "You'd think they would have found him after all these years!"

Ugh, this pictures came out so sucky. I was trying to get the hidden Mickey.

We found Donald so it was time to be movin' along.

**Up next: Let's get Lit!

Thoroughly love your reports and this one (wow...on that trip down!) is no exception.
I laughed out loud when you DH said the Purple thing is stupid because my DH can't stand him either. Last trip I bought the popcorn 'bucket/building' for our adult daughter who couldn't come and already had the Figment figure bucket, and my DH says "you have to be kidding...he's so ugly". "And the bucket is a wide building!"

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder in our family.

Glad that you are here!

Your husband not liking Figment and thinking he is ugly is too funny!

Let's get Lit!

When I left off, we were in Mexico and had finally found Donald Duck. As John said, it only took them years to find him.

When we exited, we went into the two small shops near the exit. It took everything I had not to cry a little in the glass shop. For years and years, I have bought a small glass animal for Mama to add to the collection of others I find on our travel excursions. Now that she is in a skilled nursing facility, there is no place to put her collection that she so enjoyed. John could see me getting emotional and suggested we move on to the little shop next to it. After 40 years together, he can read me and knew that I needed to leave.

My Mexican candy tucked in my bag and no other purchases made, we left the Mexico pavilion and continued our clockwise walk around World Showcase.

I sucked at taking pictures this trip as it was really about getting away from reality. I didn't even realize that I wasn't taking many until I got home and started looking through my camera roll.

Soooo, you will need to take my word for several things. One that we went to the China pavilion, bought John a Buddha beer and sat in the shade and people watched for a little while. Two that we continued on around World Showcase until we reached these little cuties:

I loved them! They were so cute!

We popped into the stores in each of the countries and, as we approached the United States, we could hear music. They were having the Garden Rocks show. I was sure that we'd never get in and find a seat since it seemed to be in the middle of the show but we were told to go right in. Cool!

I'll admit that I had no clue who the band was. I mean, I could see the name on the marque/sign thingie but I still didn't know who they were but they were good. I started doing a live stream on Facebook and Hunter immediately text me "Are you watching Lit?" Apparently, he knew immediately who they were and thought that it was neat that we were able to watch them perform.

During the concert, it started drizzling and then showering and then full out raining. We were under a tree and only got a little wet for a while but when it started raining hard, we had to make a run for cover. We, along with probably 100 other folks, stood under the covered area in the United States pavilion and waited out the rain.

**Up next: We may as well check it out.

I know this was hard for you. It's great you had John to help support you.

I liked them too.

I wouldn't know who they were either.

Love a spontanious trip. I did one this past January but it wasn't as spontanious as yours, I planned mine for a whole month.

I am so thankful for John. He knew that I had to get out of there.

I am so not up on modern bands because I was not even aware there was a band called Lit. If they don't get played on Sirius XM's 80's on 8, I'm pretty much out of it these days.
I had no clue who they were. Hunter is in a band, Weeping Hour, and keeps up with music way more than I do.

This was the most spontaneous trip I have ever planned. If I were off on July 5th, I'd be back for another spontaneous trip!

We may as well check it out.

As I said, we were waiting along with 1,654,102 people for the rain to stop. It was getting hot and steamy and I was ready to get back to our trek around World Showcase. Thankfully, the rain let up long enough for us to hot foot it over to Japan. I wanted to look around and get some Mochi for the kids. They were taking turns at caring for our two dogs, cat and 32 chickens some of which were in the house.

Let me go off topic for a minute and explain. Y'all gonna think that we are some country bumpkins or Hoarders when I tell y'all this and I could keep my mouth shut and not even say anything but then I wouldn't be my authentic self. My authentic dog loving, cat loving, chicken loving self. Let me shut up and tell you the story. So, April was a year ago that we bought some chicks, 19 to be exact. We built a cute little coop and run and they've been producing between a dozen to 16 eggs a day. I love our chickens and we even put a swing down by the coop so we could sit and relax while watching them. Our chickens started losing their feathers. We figured they were molting and/or the weather was getting hot already or combination of the two. Then, one day, I go to feed them and two of them couldn't get up and their legs were splayed. There was one other that had blood on it's head. I started googling which is scary and I found out that they had a disease that caused them to go lame, lose feathers, lose weight, etc. It could also spread through the entire flock. On No! No! No! No!

Without going into the somewhat gruesome details, I will simply say that we lost two chickens and thought that we would be losing the other seventeen. Fast forward to around the third week of April, 2024. We bought 16 new chicks the first week of May. As if we didn't already have enough crap going on at our house: 1) Mama falling; 2) Mama entering skilled nursing; 3) John and I remodeling Mama's house so she could come home; 4) Mama getting worse and worse; 5) Keeping up two households; 6) stomach bugs, etc. The list goes on and on. Anyway, we bought sixteen new chicks even while watching the others and deciding what to do.

Crap, I'm getting long winded again.

Imagine our surprise when, 16 chicks later 🐤🐣🐥, none of other 17 chickens came down with the disease. We had disinfected the coop and run as directed but they were still occupied by the OG chickens and we couldn't put the new chicks in. We had to keep them in the brooder in our house! The brooder is almost 3 feet by five feet so the foyer of my home was blocked off and I had a freakin' chick brooder in the foyer and they were still there when we went on this trip. I'm sure that's way more than y'all wanted to know but there you have it and the reason for us getting the kids some Mochi as a thank you. I am hoping that you don't run for the hills and abandon my trip report after I told y'all that real life story. :teeth:

Back to the previously scheduled trip report: We made it over to Japan where I purchased Mochi for the kiddos for taking care of the inside and outside pets. Jesse, our son-in-law, likes to try different foods and drinks and, last year, we bought him some Japanese Whiskey. This time, John found another alcoholic beverage and we have it put away for his August birthday. After checking out, we realized that it was raining again.

John asked what was in the little room off the side of the store and it was a display of anime art and had a mock up of the typical apartment in Japan. We may as well check it out.

I forgot to mention that I had been checking the app to see if Remy had come back up and it had. Our plan was to wait out the rain and head over as soon as we could.

**Up next: Is that? I swear that's! Nope, it's not.
