Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Hey Team!!! Today I did 3.55 in 56 minutes.

Kate, you're kickin'!!!!! I hope you job is going well.

Carrie, you are so sweet!!!! My mind tells me if I wanted to I could do a tri, but my body says"are you kidding me?"

amykab, have a great vacation.

Tracy, great job keeping up with the training. I tend to slack off after a big race.

Good luck to those preparing for races.

Hello Warriors!

:wave2: fellow DL Warrior Tracy! So sorry you went home sick, but at least you had a great race!

Here are times that I didn't get a chance to post:
3.4 in 45
3.1 in 36

See you later!

Morning all!

Jim - Woo hoo fro the new bike! Aerobars...yet more $$$$ in the not-so-free sport of tri's. Glad you had a great ride. You will do awesome! I try to leave some in the tank fo rmy runs too. DOnt' knwo if it's the best strategy, but mentally, I need to.

DId 23.6 miles i ~1.5 hours on teh bike to/from visiting teh ILs. I felt relaly cool biking there. Made me feel liek the bikes were worth it when we used tehm fro a fun adventure contrived on our own. Longest we've gone not in a group. Tierd this am after b2b runs and a somewhat hard ride. GOod thing today is a rest day.

It's the end of the week! :cool1:

Carrie that's an amazing cycle. Your tri's and training must be massively boosting our miles!

Michelle fab workouts, they keep building up don't they!

Barb you're doing great! thanks as always for the encouragement. New job's very different, but we've just really had 2 weeks of inductions so far.... so tired of powerpoints! No more shift work for me tho

Tracy great 4 miles :yay: yeah i do have a routine... do all stretches for 30secs each (repeat them if feels particularly tight). So lower calf stretches first (lean against wall), then stretch higher calf muscles, quads stretch (with heel on bum!), IT band stretch (usually do this twice), inner thigh stretch, hip flexor (basically one big lunge), next (you're sorry you asked now aren't you  ) is hamstring usually making good use of my piano stool. Finally just 2 mins of rolling IT band on foam roller- usually come back to this later once it starts to hurt! Phew. Usually hits 10mins

Jim i love your idea of a taper and leavin some in the tank, :rotfl: Keep it up, you're an awesome warrior.

Erika whoop whoop for 9miler! Enjoy your tapering and countdown to 1/2

amy great mix of workouts and times :woohoo:

Becky brilliant effort for your 4 miles too.

I'm so impressed with everyone!!!!

Just a little walk to add today with DMum- 2 miles 37mins.
Week total 18.9miles, 269 mins.

Good evening Warriors! Today I did 2 miles in 30 minutes.

Michelle, congratulations on finishing the DL 1/2. WTG!!!!!

Carrie, you are really piling up those miles. The bikes save on gas and gives you a great workout. Nice!!!!

Kate, great totals for the week!!!! I'm glad you don't have to work shifts anymore. My DH worked shifts when we were first married and it's not fun.

My totals are: 18.32 miles and 285:58 minutes.

Argh...10 miler tomorrow! Have a great weekend!!!!

Good Afternoon Warriors,

Kate: Thanks for the routine!!

Me, a quick 3 miles this morning before meeting a friend to see her baby in the NICU.

3 miles 41min 20sec, 5 min stretching. (Best 3mile training walk so far!!)

I did a .50 of a mile with a 11:95min pace!!
Take care everyone.

(Watching Sleepless in Seatle...)

Got in my furthest run since minnie- 8.9miles in 80 mins! I feel a bit disappointed that had to take two 10sec walk breaks, but it's amazing how much better i felt after those even tho they were short. Followed it with my LONG stretch routine- 10mins.

Got home to my DDad asking why didn't you just do 10miles? Could have squished his head right there (sorry no violence honestly!). I run laps of village sometimes and always finish around the corner from home so can walk for 5 mins after.

Then walked grandad's dog 1.5miles 20mins.

So- 10.4miles 110 mins altogether

Good evening Warriors! I did my 10 miles today in 158:23.

Tracy
, congratulations on your best training walk!
Kate, you made me laugh because when I finished my 10 miles my DH asked if that was all I did. He was kidding or I would have squished his head! LOL You are doing great!!!!!

I did 4.16 miles in 1:02:50 on thursday night with a friend of mine. I am hoping she will come out with me more regularly, but she was complaining about her butt being sore today from it, so I don't know.

Kate - Great run!! I know I would have had a hard time not squishing his head too!

Barbara - Awesome Job on your 10!!

Tracy - I hope your friend's baby is ok.

I have 7 scheduled for tomorrow morning. I am getting up at 6 am this time!

Becky

An easy 3.5 miles in 35 minutes.

Low miles for me all week as my half is next week Sunday.

Your friends butt was hurting?? Usually not the first muscle complaint, usually something like calves, hamstring, knees??
THanks for asking about my friends(coworker also) baby. SHe was born early at 28weeks along with her twin sister. They had a thing called twin to twin transfusion. The other twin was aobut half the size and only lived about 15 hours after being delivered by c-section. The surviving twin was born at 2 lbs and 8 oz. SHe is now 4 lbs and 3 oz. She is about 34 weeks old now. She is doing pretty good, starting to learn to suck on a bottle and is plumping up.

AFM: I decided to do 6 miles today. 1hour 22min 42 sec. With 5min stretching. Pace of 13:47, not too shabby.

Ok, got up at 6:15 was out the door at 6:30 and it was still dark! Very strange. I got 1.5 miles into my run and my friend called and said she wanted to come. So I ran back to her house and she did the rest with me. So time wise not what I wanted, but it was nice to have a companion. I did 7.64 miles in 1:46. It was so much better early in the morning, but I am pooped now!

Tracy - I am so sorry for your friend! That is awful. I hope her baby does well. Oh and my friend said her butt cheeks hurt. I don't know, that isn't usually where I get sore, but she is not an active gal usually ;)

Barbara - Oh my DH would be sooo jealous!! He is watching the game now (tivo). We are from MA and he is a die hard sox fan (and patriots, bruins, celtics, etc)

Erika - I love tapering!! Good luck next sunday!

Jim - Good luck on your tri!

Becky

Good evening amazing Warriors! I'm just starting my taper, 3 weeks to go! 3.15 miles and 50 minutes.

Jim, you're a Warrior, you'll do just fine.
Becky, Boston is the place to be for sports. I'm glad your DH has tivo so he can join in the cheering. Nice run yesterday!!!!
Ken, I see you are going for the Goofy. Wow!!!!
Carrie, you a slug? No way!!!! Do you ever rest?

Thanks for all the well wishes, it means a ton, truly. I am flat out terrified at this point, but I will get through it.

Yesterday was 3.6 in 40 minutes...nice and slow. Added some stretching and cool down for 45 minutes total.

I have a 4 - 4.5 mile scheduled for today and it is my longest run before the race on Sunday. I hope it goes well. Yesterday's run was a disaster. Of course, I was on NO sleep. Here is what was going on in my head....

I signed up for this half b/c it is an all women's field and it allows walkers. I am a back-of-the-pack runner, so it is nice to know that there are walkers back there and if I need to take a walk break, that is ok. Safety and all that. Well, I found out the other day that the walkers start half an hour before the runners.

So I found myself tossing and turning while doing the 7th grade math word problem from hell...

If Walker A leaves the starting line at 8:30 traveling at 15 minutes per mile, and Runner B leaves the starting line at 9:00 traveling at 11:00 minutes per mile, at what point will Runner B intersect with Walker A???

Now this may sound hilarious, but let me tell ya', I am scared to freaking death of this race. I am also signed up for the Disney half, but have no fear of that race. Lots of WISHers and friends, etc. And way more people. Again, safety in numbers.

I have run 2 5ks so far (at a 10-ish pace), and I have followed my training plan, having missed only 2 runs in 6 months. But my training never went all the way up to the full 13.1. The farthest I have run is like 11.4-ish (and I took a couple of walking breaks to get there), so again...I am just a bundle of nerves and fear.

Thank you all so much for your support. It means the world! :)
