Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Hello Warriors!

Hey Tracy! Thanks for all your encouragement! I needed it!

He he has anyone noticed my new ticker!!! They changed uni dates so i can have a whole week playing in disney... right around the 1/2 marathon  That's the motivation i needed.

Hey Tracy! Thanks for all your encouragement! I needed it!

Michelle: You are SOOOOOO welcome, just sorry that I left you and Lynn!! I think I pushed Lynn a bit too much, but she hung in there and glad she could hang with you for awhile.
I felt I could've gone a bit faster as I didn't feel spent afterwards. But later as I was traveling to Laguna Beach, my knees and calves were killing me. Going up stairs wasn't too bad, but going down was a killer!!!!

Cold is worse today and I went home early from work to chill. I decided to go get gas for the car and go Grocery store on the way home to get ready for Hurricane Ike which hopefully will make a turn and go some place else!!

2 miles walking tonight with DD, about 40 minutes.

It was hot, but less humid and more breezy, I think maybe due to hanna passing on by today.

we're getting a little worried about Ike over here on the west coast of FL..The tracks keep shifting it farther over here! One of the local forecasters was talking about it stalling out off the west coast early next week. :scared1: We're supposed to be heading to the outer banks for a week next friday. Depending on what happens, we may head out early. Crossing my fingers for this storm just completely bypassing FL and dying a quick death!

Tracy PD for feeling better soon! I have had a couple colds the past couple months. Lots of stuff going around. Rest lots!

Good evening amazing Warriors! Today I did 2 miles and 30 minutes.

My totals for last week are. 14.58 miles and 228.05 minutes

My totals for this week are. 12.38 miles and 191 minutes.

I hope the storms bypass Fl and head out to sea. Stay safe everybody!!!!

OK so I know I have a cold and coughing up a storm, but I needed to get out and do something. Plus, the sun gave me some Vit.D and the breathing part helps to break up the "crap" in my lungs!!. I am a warrior afterall.
Just an easy walk at a 16:47 pace, so 2.02 miles in 33min55sec.
Have a good Sunday everyone.

Fab effort Tracy , you truly are a warrior.

I've been for a swim today 1.24miles 55 mins. Was a good swim but i forgot to put on glide stuff around my neck and now have lovely red friction burns from halter top! Clearly that stuff works very well!

Once again, I have been delinquent in my posting! Sorry! Now that the sproglets are off the school (thanks for that word, Kate....LOVE it! :goodvibes ) I should be back to posting regularly.

So here are my times and miles for the last week (going back a FULL week, I am afraid!)

Sat. 8/30 = 4 miles, 45 minutes with stretching
Sun. 8/31 = OFF
Monday 9/1 = 2 miles on the elliptical, 1:20 with some strength training
Tuesday 9/2 - 5 Miles; 1:15 with some core
Weds. 9/3 - 4 miles + lots of strength (LONG time since I had a solid strength workout!) 1:45
Thursday 9/4 = off
Friday 9/5 = 3.6 plus some core = 60 minutes
Today, Saturday 9/6 = 11.2 mile run in 2:05 with stretching, etc.

My very first half is two weeks from tomorrow! Gosh, I don't feel ready!

Tomorrow will be a rest day (since today was my long run) and then beginning Monday I will be back to my normal posting schedule.

You all are the BEST!

hey hey, just posting a run this morning. Did 10mins warm up on wiifit, then ran 3.8miles in 34 mins and stretched for 10 immediately afterwards. Will try to do some more stretching later again. Hope you're all having a great weekend

Ok, still not sticking to rest for my cold. GOt up and did 4 miles (why 4?? - not sure)
Felt pretty good and tried to keep at my normal pace. Even did a 13:50 mile. Then the last mile was tough, I think it was just one mile too much.
Anyway, did 4 miles in 57min 36sec. 5 min of stretching.

Today was probably my worst workout day in months............:sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

I did a "Practice" tri with my friend Jeff, who is doing the AfacTri with me in a couple of weeks. It is hot today, with the heat index about 100 while we were out there. (first problem)

We could not swim today, so our plan was to run for about the same time as the swim takes us, then bike & run the 10K.

First run: nice, slow and easy. 4 miles in 45 minutes

Bike ride: Jeff is a MUCH better cyclist than I am, with some pro racing experience in his distant past. As such, my first BIG error was to try to keep up with him, which I CAN do if I wheelsuck his brains out. But since drafting in Tri's is frowned upon & not in the spirit of the game, I did not do that today. So I am working my *** off to keep up with his pace. Finally I figured out (too late) that I should just ride my pace & let him go, but the damage had already been done. Second BIG error: I ran out of fluids with over 8 miles left, so I had to throttle back even more to get to the end.

End result: 25 miles in 1:36. Over 14 minutes slower than I had hoped.

10K run - here's where it gets REALLY good. I was able to hydrate some after the bike and figured I could muddle through the run with some difficulty, but still do OK. Wrong. REALLY Wrong. INSANELY WRONG. Long Story short - I completely crashed in the run. I was able to run about 2 miles then I was done. Finished. Through. But I was determined to try and make the distance even if i had to walk, crawl or slither. Not exactly the prudent choice, but I had to get back to my starting point. The one GOOD thing: my route took my past one of our fire stations. About the time I got there, I was REALLY not feeling well. Dizzy, sweating like a moose (which is actually good).

I ducked inside the station and (for the very first time ever) asked one of the guys there to stick me with a really big needle & dump some IV fluids into me. While this was going on I said "I REALLY need to lay down. I'm ok, but I need to be horizontal. Now" So they helped me inside and I laid down on the floor for about 15 minutes while getting 750 ml of fluid.

After this I felt much better, but knew my day was officially done. I managed to get back to Jeff's house, but did not go the required distance. Ugh. End result - 5.36 miles in 1:46. Did I say ugh?

Total time: 4:08. Distance 34.25 miles

Hopefully today was an aberration & not a trend. The Tri actually begins at 6:30, as opposed to 9:30 today. And I need to do better on fuel & hydration. And pacing. And being smart. I also had an "energy drink" this morning when I first woke up. I Will Never Touch That Crap Again. Pretty sure I had a nice blood sugar crash in the middle of all the other fun.

So. That was MY day. How's yours????

Wow. This post is waaaaaaaaay too long. Sorry. Please feel free to disregard.

Good evening Warriors! I did 6 miles in 94:58 minutes.

Jim, you learned a lot from your "practice" so you'll know exactly how to approach the Tri. You may not be pleased with your outcome but I'm pretty impressed.

Tracy
, nice job today! I hope you feel better very soon.
Kate, your times are great!!!! Oh, to be younger, maybe my times would be better.
Roxy, you're a star!
Erika, are you doing the York race?

Have a wonderful week everybody!

Wow Jim!!!!!! :scared1: ...sounds like you had an eye opening adventure today. Sorry to hear you crashed. I think an earlier start also probably would have been a better idea.
Glad to hear you made it back home in one piece and without a trip to the hospital. What a warrior you are!!
Hope things go better next time.

Tracy

Hi Warriors!

Jim :scared1: :scared1: Glad you are doing ok now! I think it is the hottest that it has been all summer down here.

Tracy :yay: for getting out there even when you are not feeling the greatest!

Erika :worship: :worship: on your LR! I am hoping to be as fast as you eventually!

Kate As usual you are superfast!:worship: I am super close to deciding to do the princess 1/2.

Roxy :worship: on your runs!

I got in 2.5 miles in 31 minutes today, which while not super fast, is a PR for me for that distance. :woohoo: I am hoping to add to it and be able to do about 5 miles in an hour. I went back to intervals, I had been doing C25K and was running for 25-30 minutes at a time, but I felt like my weight loss was better when I was running intervals earlier in the program.

Anyhow, I hope everyone has a good night!

And I do have to say GO GATORS!!!!!

Jim - OMG! So glad you are ok! SOunds liek you learned some valuable lessons, but I amso sorry you wen through that!

Tracy - Hope you are doing better. Please take it easy on yourself. You did the half adn al the travel adn your body needs a break.

Amy - WTG on teh 2.5-miler!

Kate - Thanks for being a great cheerleader! :cheer2: You can call my dinner tea. SOunds much cooler!

Jen - WOndering if it's a baby yet.

Erika - I cannot believe the days you put in. WTG! You will eb fine for your half. just got to believe!

Roxy - You rock!!

Barb - WTG! You just keep on truckin'!

Did my tri this weeknd. MUCH better than the 1st. 19 min faster. Much of that due to the new bike, but my run pace improved 1 mpm. Plus, I din't get lost ant there were people behind me. Bonus!

So, with teh double miles, tha's 47 miles in 2:35.

I have everything entered. WIll put them on the main spreadsheet tomorrow. Things will look off, as last week days counted goofy due to the end of teh month.

Great job Warriors!

Hey kids-

Too busy wallowing in self-pity to read about everyone's progress... ;) I'm sure everyone's doing great, especially Carrie with her tri!

No baby yet. This one's hung in 2 weeks longer than my first two. I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow- I'm hoping 39 is a good number for GoofyBaby! Ted looked at me sprawled out on the couch yesterday and started laughing- he said "you've come a long way since that Goofy marathon!" I would have hit him, but it would have taken too much effort...

Jen in GA

Jen - Sorry you're so miserable! You know it will eb worth it when you hold GOofy Baby for teh first time, though!

Carrie - WTG on your tri!! That's awesome!!

Jen - So sorry! It will be over soon and you will have that beautiful baby in your arms!! :)

I ran my first post race run yesterday. It was awful! I got up too late and by the time I got outside it was over 90 degrees and that is just too hot for me. I ended up walking about half of it. I did 6 miles in 1:09. Time wise it wasn't bad, but it was just completely depressing. I dove in my pool (I just stripped down to my sports bra and panties - I'm sure my neighbors loved that!) and I felt much better. So that officially started my goofy training!

Hope everyone has better runs than I did.

Becky

Carrie - I just read your tri report. As Seth Rudesky (Ch 77, Sirius Radio, Broadways' Best) would say........ You Are Ahmahhhhhhhzing!!

I can only hope to do so well.
