Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Jen: Glad to hear your doing fine and get to eat more.... protein. I think there is some kind of protein in ice cream. :)

Kate: Sorry to ask this silly little question, but, what in the world is a plaster?? You said you had to "stop by your house for a plaster becasue you tripped on a rock." I'm trying to imagine you mixing some plaster powder with water and smoothing it on your injury with a spatula.:rotfl2: :rotfl: .
Please let me know how close I am.

I did 3.05 miles in 44min 10 sec.

Big Brown is racing today in the Belmont Stakes, go BIG BROWN. Also my Hurricanes play in the super-regional today and they have to win or they are out.

Have a good day everyone.

i didn't even think about the translation. They're the same as your band-aids! I actually could've filled in a couple of holes with some plaster, but unfortunately i'm not a qualified plasterer :lmao:

You're getting some great times for 3 milers tracy

Happy Saturday Warriors!!

I made it back into town yesterday evening after spending the day trapped in a Southwest Airlines 737 with 150 of my best friends. Las Vegas to Jacksonville with 2 stops along the way. ugh. Ugh & Double Ugh.

My class was pretty cool. The location was AMAZING!! The weather actually was pretty good (except for a day of 30-50 mph winds). Not too hot.

If you want to see where I was, Google "Nevada Test Site" & "Sedan Crater". I'll not bore you with the history lesson (which I thought was actually pretty cool............ ). I could not take any pictures because they confiscated our cameras for the duration of the time at the test site.

I was able to do a bit of work during the week. The place I stayed at for 3 of the nights actually had a lap pool, so I was able to confirm that I really suck at swimming. I have mucho worko to do if I plan to not drown (or even participate in) at the AFAC Tri @ WDW in September.

My total (approx) for the week, including swimming, running & walking was about (3+2.5+.9+3+2+2) = 13.4 miles in (27+23+45+50+35+35) 3 hours 35 minutes.

Nothing today. Starting at the new station tomorrow, so probably nothing there either.

Jim, good to have you back home! Hope your day at the new station is good tomorrow.

Sad day for Big Brown.

Ted and I went out for a "short" walk. Well, that's what I thought it was going to be, but it turned out to be 4 miles in upper 80s heat and very humid on some parts gravel trail that was NOT level at all. I mentioned turning back, but he was determined to plough onward. He's feeling it now. Hip area is not happy for him at all right now. Me, I'm just hot! I think tomorrow is a pool day somewhere.

Hello Warriors,
Today was a long walk.
7miles 1hr43min39sec.
Stretching in the pool. 10min.

I'm seeing a theme in our runs/walks-- HEAT!

I went running by myself yesterday (with water, cell phone, and a soaked hat!). It was 95 degrees. I now have a good idea of what it must be like to be on a pizza stone!

I didn't take my Garmin because I thought it would just stress me out, but I think I did about 3.5 miles or so in 45 minutes. It felt really good, which is strange because it's 96 degrees right now and I refuse to even think about leaving the house... I'm going to reload my iPod instead since the random Christmas music was very annoying yesterday!

I like Lily's pool idea- just have to get past the bathing suit concept!;) Going to be hard now that I am interpreting "eat more protein" rather liberally.:rolleyes1

Jen in GA

Jen that def does seem to be the theme, even here in the UK it's 77oF which is hot for us. I don't know how some of you guys cope- i'm sending you some snowman cool vibes! Get past that swimming costume concept and get yourself in the pool! You have absolutely nothing to worry about :)

Today i started my 16 week training plan for the half marathon ::yes:: Scary thought, but not a scary first day: 2miles outside 18mins and 10mins stretching. Will do my longer distances on TM for now.

Carrie- i forgot to post last week totals: 15.85miles, 169mins

Happy Monday Warriors! Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Saturday: 3 miles, 40:45, I think that totals me for the week at 7.65 miles, 112 minutes. Not as much as I had hoped but better than none at all.

Hoosmi You are going to be my model for pregnancy fitness when I get pregnant again! You go girl!

Have a good day everyone!

2 miles, 28 minutes today. I did it outside, trying to take advantage of a "cool" evening here in FL. Still humid, but the temp was way down due to some t-storms. So it felt like a lukewarm sauna instead of super hot one!:)

Hey guys! I'm back in action!!! I did an aquabox class tonight--1 hour!

Stacie

Good Morning Warriors. Just reporting I got out there this morning after an intense battle with myself. Round 2 of C25K. Week 1 Day 1.

30 min, 2.2 miles. Yay! I'm back in the game.

The knee brace was weird, but I think it will be ok.

The weather man said we would have a cool front coming through...ONLY 98 today instead of 102! Really? ONLY? :goodvibes

Be safe out there in the heat!!!
Stacie

Stacie, I hope you didn't hurt yourself too bad in the battle :rotfl: . I have today off, so I got up and did my miles this morning. 3miles 44min.
Not too bad today it forecast as a high of 88 but with scattered thunderstorms.

Have a great Tuesday Warriors.

Hey Warriors! It has been a few days since my last post, so I have some catching up to do.

And even here in Maine it is swealtering hot! The last 2 days we have hit 90 (which is not that hot to some of you) but with like 95% humidity it is truly oppressive. Today it is *only* 87 or so....but still sticky!

I ran outside that last 2 days and was truly miserable, so I went to they gym today and ran on the TM.

Sunday - speed drills....3.1 miles, plus a core work-out...45 minutes

Monday - 4.3 miles, plus a core workout...1 hour 15 miunutes
plus a 1.2 mile walk with my kids....20 minutes

Today - 5.1 miles, plus full strength training....2 hours

I GOT MY NEW BIKE TODAY! Woo Hoo! I am going to try to get a ride into tonight, but have to work, so :confused3 But since tomorrow is a rest day for running, I will bike it! Can't wait!

Jen--you are the Goddess of Pregnancy! A true warrior! That baby is going to come out wearing running shoes! :lmao:

Stacie--glad to see you are back! Hope the knee brace does the trick!

Kate--which half are you doing? And which training program? I have been using Bingham's half training, but you only run 10 miles before doing the half. That seems like a pretty big jump to go from 10 to 13.1.

Jim--welcome back! Sounds like you enjoyed it!

Stay hydrated everyone!

Erika

Good morning warriors!!

It's actually thundering off in the distance right now. Good thing I did something early instead of procrastinating..........

Today: .6 mile swim in 32 minutes. It MIGHT be getting a bit easier............... Hopefully a bit quicker in time.

I followed that with a 23.5 mile bike ride in 1:34. Nor very quick today. My legs felt really tired today, so I skipped the post-bike run.

Total 24.1 in 2:06

Back from a long weekend in SF where I had good intentions but nothing ever happened! The "heated pool" was not warm at all and I was not about to risk getting sick! So I finally hit the pool at the gym last night. Another 1/2 mile in about 30 minutes again. And only 5 more days until the tri! WooHoo!

Here are my totals for last week

Run - 18 miles - 3 hours
walk - 12 miles - 3:45

Total - 30 miles 6:45

Roxy- you absolute star! That's an amazing half marathon and we warriors are immensely proud of your achievement after your foot issues, actually regardless of those we're still proud of you!

Erika- i'm down for the toronto waterfront half on sept 28th eek. Using a runnersworld programme based losely around my minnie times. I agree they never go upto full distance which is scary. Prefer these ones as they are more specific on paces etc. I used this for the 15km and it went ok so fingers crossed.

Just 30mins WiiFit and stretch today

1 hour team fitness.

Back to running tomorrow and time to star Goofy training.:hyper:
